My doctor tells me there are brain receptors for victoza/saxenda. What physiological effects does that lead to?
Jeff the Pharmacist (14 days ago)
http://www.yourhormones.info/hormones/calcitonin/ Thats an article on it. It increases calcium resorption to the bone mostly.

What does increased calcitonin do to the body? Thank you, Jeff, for responding!
Jeff the Pharmacist (16 days ago)
From what I saw brain receptors may cause an increase in satiety. Also, receptors in the thyroid gland lead to increase calcitonin.

Can you do an explanation on Ozempic? why is it priced at $800,00?
Jeff the Pharmacist (19 days ago)
I did a video on Ozempic: https://youtu.be/a83zs3mwOIQ. These diabetes pens are always priced like this I think because they are under patent and marketed to doctors really heavily. Also, there is no generics and they wind up giving insurance companies rebates which is not reflected in the retail price. Often an insurance company will get a large rebate in exchange for a preferential placement in the insurance plans list of covered drugs.
