This routine employs cables and machines to stimulate upper back, lats, and medial and posterior deltoids. This could be implemented every other back workout - upcoming back training video will demonstrate that to be performed alternately. The upcoming alternate workout employs all free weight exercises to heavily target primarily the lower back while again addressing the lat muscles with redundant crossover again into adjacent musculature. The advantage in this immediate approach is to explore a multitude of angles and more finely specify the delivery and concentration of the stress (to target areas). As always, each individual needs to assess the worth of any tactic/approach by their own appliccation. Personally, I employ a slightly protracted version of this workout utilizing the exercises displayed here in alternating rotation with a stricly free weight workout including extensive deadlifting and rowing (I perform this workout today and my next back workout I perform the other yet to be posted). Too many people rely to heavily on the standard seated lat pulldown - which in light of the application of cables as presented here is rendered inferior -in my opinion, based upon my personal experiences. Again, you do what delivers the goods for you - if your lats are huge and lack nothing, then no need to even investigate this.
I have a problem training my lats and one or two other areas. If I train them twice a week, I don't feel anything next day, even after doing 16 sets or more. If I train them once a week, I'm sore, but the benefits seem to wear off. I have tried so many variations:low sets, high sets, light, heavy. Nothing seems to make a big change. I wish I could work out my optimum routine to get these parts stronger.
James surly this type of training hitting back with 5/6 different exercises and doing upwards of 30 reps only works for enhanced lifters? This type of training isn't very effective for naturals unless your just trying to maintain what you've already built?
This was a kick ass workout, thanks James. Quick question your thoughts on the drug Melantan 2 Pedtide? I work night as get very little to no sun exposure then in the summer I burn real bad. Just wondering your thoughts or if you have any experience with it.
I like watching the people in the background compared to james. He's the only one sweating, and the others seem to be taking those really long breaks sitting in the machine so no one else can use it. Makes me want to fucking vomit the utter lack of effort. Why bother going to the gym?
You should do guided meditations with that voice just kidding or maybe not. Great back workout I'm going to try these on my next back day. This is my favorite YouTube channel lately every video is very inspiring! Keep up the good work.
Hey James, i like how you approach your form, its something i have developed naturally altho im not an experinced lifter, i will attribute it to me meditating, i used to lift heavier weights and just move the weight up and down, its like there's a separation between my mind and body but i stopped lifting for a while and went on a spiritual journey and when i return, it was a whole another level!. Tho can you give me tips on how to overcome gym intimidation ? , i still feel it at times.
I like to do the seated row, but with the longer bar ( usually used for lat pull downs) . And when you pull the bar to your body, let it come near your sternum, not belly. This exercise works great. What James is doing might be a bit awkward standing up if you are not experienced bodybuilder.
Did it just how you said, completely ignored the numbers and went purely by the way I felt the muscle today..... Hands down, had THE greatest back workout of my life, and I been lifting for about five years now... Thank you!
I love the fact he doesn't conform to every other meathead in the gym. Doesn't have a set of headphones, doesn't have stupid torn workout vest top, and his workouts are high rep and intense. And look who is the actual monster in the gym, the crazy but cool guy with the lumberjack cut up shirt lol. Love this channel
HereTo AnnoyU yup. Also one of a very few that is actually a man! Too many b****es who are more concerned about how they look in the gym than actually putting in the work. " ooooo my gym outfit is on point!""Sick edit Brah!" "Hi guys! Well today im getting my hair cut......"😒 cookie cutter youtubers all doing the sme sh*t.
Awesome video Jim! Thanks for all these workout videos you really know your shit and I really appreciate that!
One tip, get a pop filter for your microphone and it will make a world of difference!
Thanks again for all the work you put into your videos.
do you know anything about a pinched nerve in the shoulder? I started back lifting for about 8 months & got pretty strong but I had an issue with my back and I worked and made it worse . I haven't been able to bench for over a month.when I cough it hurts my shoulder and my fingers are numb. I ordered some horse liniment yesterday. One time I got hit by a truck when riding a bike by a drunk driver and I couldn't even raise my arm over my head for 4 months .That took over a year to get better.I went to a chiropractor and they say I have a pinched nerve.just wondered if you had any problems like that. I want to start lifting again but right now I can't.
I usually do the 2 main and then an extra. 2 main are flat and incline bench. extra is usually butterfly machine. sometime I do 4 chest exercises but usually do 3. always 2 main. worked pretty well for me
Do you know a creatine brand that does not increase BP? A brand that isn't as strong. Been taking bulk supply brand and has been increasing BP for last few months, I have been taking way less then the recommended amounts, still high BP :(
James, your channel is growing quickly - I think a lot of people like what you have to say (I'm new as of 8,300 subscribers) - if you want to do these types of videos, worth the $50 to pickup a higher quality podcasting mic with a screen to diffuse out the 'puh', 'tuh' and other breathy sounds when voicing over a video that makes it unpleasent for the viewer (also blocks out really mouthy/saliva sounds) -- I learned this the hard way years ago when I put up a podcast and tons of viewers told me I "made them sick" listening to me :)
People need to up vote this more so James sees it, love his stuff, a little better audio would be a fantastic step in the right direction (no hate, just pure constructive criticism) Just want to see the guy do well, definitely deserves it.
Patients taking Viagra are less likely to suffer a heart attack, new research claims.
Men taking the impotence drug were found to have a lower risk of having a heart attack or dying from heart failure than those not on the medication.
The findings mean Viagra could soon be used to treat hundreds of thousands of heart failure patients and even prevent fatal heart attacks, scientists say.
Experts from the University of Manchester studied 6,000 diabetic patients who had been given Viagra to treat erectile dysfunction.
The drug relaxes muscle cells in the blood vessels supplying the penis, allowing more blood to flow there.
This increased blood flow increases the likelihood of getting an erection.
Given the increasing reports of deaths in which the use of Viagra may be implicated, clinicians need to exercise caution when advising their patients with heart
Experts believe a key ingredient in Viagra called PDE5i, which relaxes blood vessels, also prevents damage to heart cells.
Heart failure is caused by the heart failing to pump enough blood around the body at the right pressure.
It most often occurs because the heart muscle has become too weak or stiff to work properly and is usually treated with medication which supports the heart.
Despite diabetics being prone to heart problems, the study participants did not suffer as many incidents as similar patients not on the drug.
