Make a video on feeder workouts James please.

When the man says not to sacrifice targeting the muscle for heavy weight on cables.....LISTEN TO HIM !!!! Going too heavy on cables just for the sake of going heavy can & will tear your joints & ligaments to shreds. If you can't contract at the top of the movement with cables ( hold & flex) then you will find out soon enough that ice/motrin is going to top your shopping list.

Yo tiny, I started doing the milk thing and took your advice regarding the preworkout/sugars and the ways to shock the arms. I just had the most amazing arm workout in like two/three months at least. Thanks! Keep up the positive work!

Love the channel, respect James and all. But you cant "shock" your body into celluar hypertrophy. You can shock it to shit your pants maybe, but thats all what a shock could do. Muscle growth is a damaged tissue recovery, just like broken bones - simmilar principle. If you have a broken leg, breaking it more will not shock it into healing faster. Bro science is really cool - i love the legends about all that stuff, it really makes bodybuilding into something complicated and cool. Sadly, just like myths about dragons and unicorns, science has proven to not exist. All there is to know about growth is that you stimulate it, then wait for your body to recover only as much as it possibly can. There is nothing you can do to speed up the process. And when you are on steroids, the process itself is faster, but you cant do shit to speed up the steroid process unless you just up the dose till your head explodes. Its exactly like any type of healing - your body does what it can if provided sufficient nutrition, and thats about it.

bah your full of shit no such thing as "shocking" your muscles to get bigger. Thats a lie. .i..
Nazgul Linux (1 year ago)
James these kids these days just don't understand the adaptive nature of our own bodies. If the muscle is used to a movement/weight, it will get to a point and stop growing like you want. Its a plateau effect similar to a learning curve. You learn a lot about a subject at first, everything is new, then as you learn, less and less information is known and you discover less and less as you go. To get continued growth, you either change things up and physically challenge your body, or you don't grow.
James Tiny Vest (1 year ago)
Not a lie at all - body loves normalcy - anytime you suddenly deviate be it through diet or training, you will get a big burst of response out of it.  This is fundamental and NO person who has developed a serious amount of musculature would disagree.  Thusly, I suspect you do not fall into that category.  Also, because this is so fundamental I take it you do not lift to build muscle and/or you have no interest in any of the subject matter covered here.  And, the muscle/bodybuilding/lifting subject matter is not even the most enlightening issue here, so if you can't even discuss something so "light" as an adult, I think you must be in the wrong place and seek to waste our time - hence, you are banned.

long time viewer, first time poster. James, well done. I got hooked on these videos when I saw the response to RP's crazy gear cycle. This video, without a doubt helped me. I've hit arm consistently every gym session for several months. Plateaued and no gains, switch up the game, and BAM, change, growth, love it. Keep telling it like it is! Love you're insight!

I tend to use machines and dumbbells for arms (90% and 10%), but cables I tend to avoid. I'll try it out for a good mix up. As always, good advice.

James you mind me asking where you got that shirt at because I had u pegged solely bodybuilder and last time I seen or talk to Gene was in 2008 ipa nationals I competed in in York Pa. You kind of stunned me here for a minute, like I said I haven't seen one of those for a long time
James Tiny Vest (1 year ago)
Oh God no, not purely bodybuilding, bro.  I used to train and hang out with some of the strongest powerlifters on the planet - kept me grounded.  As far as bodybuilders go, I moved my fair share of heavy weight but as I grew older, my connective tissue could no longer take it all the time.  I was biggest when I was lifting my heaviest.  Gene is an awesome human being - top of the line - can not speak highly enough of him.  I got the shirt from him years ago.  I saw Gene do a dozen full range pullups at a ridiculous bodyweight at Mike Miller's Nazareth Barbell - Mike is another awesome guy.
Tommy Guglielmo (1 year ago)
james. any advice on , well i dont know how to spell it but side abs, obliques?
Temmmeeeee (1 year ago)
side planks, side bends, one arm dumbell (or barbell for extra challenge) bench press without holding on with your other arm, & if you can, one arm pushups hit em pretty damn hard
Ivor Mackenzie (1 year ago)
also the shovel lift is amazing for obliques!
Ivor Mackenzie (1 year ago)
obliques-cable crunches with static holding for a few seconds in the fully crunched position
Carbonyl (1 year ago)
bench for obliques you gotta be kidding right?
kban (1 year ago)
deadlifts! squats! Bench! And loose more bodyfat
Derek arsenault (1 year ago)
sorry tiny. when the cable is at 90 degrees it's the hardest and when at 0 or near it degrees it has the less strain
BroToPro (1 year ago)
+Derek arsenault it works great for curls too and a few other exercises
Derek arsenault (1 year ago)
+djsubliminalreeve yeah buddy you got it . far away harder at lock out closer harder at 90 degrees elbow . also bands are a nice finisher
BroToPro (1 year ago)
Then stand far back from the cable machine and move forward evert few reps and thats the full strength curve
niknasstie (1 year ago)
James thanks for the videos. I'm asking for any info on form or lifting variations. the problem I have is I can't get my tricep especially upper tricep to activate with free weights. in my teens my favorite exercise was dips but do to work injuries to shoulder I can no longer do them unassisted. I know cable pull downs can hit it but I have been trying with free weights. I feel like I am only hitting the tricep tendon attached to the elbow. Thank you for any info
niknasstie (1 year ago)
+kbanco the problem on shoulder is just putting 240 lbs on the dip bars. there's a slight pinch but not the debilitating pain anymore. I can do over head extensions and skull crushers type lifts. it's just the problem of not feeling anything in the muscle I'm trying to target. I've dropped wieght and tried doing more form and higher reps or even a few at a heavier weight. I've done both elbows in and out and single arm to the side with no good results
kban (1 year ago)
if you are able to go over the head for extensions, then you should be able to work the long head. Are you pulling your elbows out because of your shoulder? That might be the problem. You have to find a way to extend your humerus up high to stretch the long head of the tricep. But if you put your shoulder at risk, I'd say keep your shoulders healthy at the expense of the long head of the tricep. Are you able to lay down on a bench on your back and put your arms right behind your head?
niknasstie (1 year ago)
+kbanco after dropping about a 110 lbs and alot of yoga. I can finally put my full wieght on a dip but I still feel the injury and chose not to do it for risk of re injuring it. which is why I'm looking for free weight ideas. anything I've tried seems to only effect the lower joint and not triceps. I've tried all the ones I know, one arm bent over rows, kick backs, skull crushers, over head extensions. trying all with thumb over or under and in different ways as narrow or wide from body. nothing I can think of is hitting them like I use to. if you have any I'm missing ide would give it a shot
kban (1 year ago)
it activates with shoulder extension, so anything that lets you get your shoulder behind your head. Is it sore when you do that?

Todd Stephens (1 year ago)
Hi James, please forgive me for asking, but I'm noticing a raised area on the left side of your chest closer to your shoulder. I was wondering if you have an internal defibrillator or pacemaker or is that just the build of your body? I'm only asking because I do have an internal defibrillator and have laid off the weights because of it. I'm not trying to pry into your past medical history, I'm only curious because I miss the weights a great deal.
James Tiny Vest (1 year ago)
No, no pacemaker - I have a stab wound on one pec but it is old and I don't think the scar is especially outstanding.

+James Tiny Vest. James my apologies bro. I normally don't respond to the trolls.. but sometimes they need put in their place. I will do my best to ignore them . This is not the channel to start the highschool games as you said. You got the best channel going on Youtube as far as In concerned! Let You have my support!
James Tiny Vest (1 year ago)
"Jester,"  this type of grade school behavior is exactly what this "channel" is NOT about.  We ARE kindred here and we seek to empower, support, and focus on positivity - a "no buster" atmosphere.  We have zero tolerance for bullying of any kind and it will not exist at all here.  I believe everyone has a better version of themselves waiting for an atmosphere in which to thrive.  I hope you elect to remain among us because I am sure there is value in what you could choose to offer.  While our little channel is not the biggest, make no mistake that our number is power awaiting direction - We will have a positive effect on those who need it most and in totality of effort, on our environment.  We should all choose to stay on point.  Anyone without interest in brotherhood (or sisterhood) must be weeded out.  Please do better.

how would someone contact you?
Taylor Gable (1 year ago)
+Nathan Gambill  True, I'll just let the words  I've said to him sink in a bit
Nathan Gambill (1 year ago)
+Mario Anchovy Thank you. I've never been a person to let obstacles get in the way. I have a goal, willing to push myself as hard as need be to reach it. And I wouldn't worry about arguing the above. We all know mature, and intelligent people know how to ignore, and let it go.
Taylor Gable (1 year ago)
+JesterAnonIsGame Gameover  Oh look, the sociopath is back for more. Just reading your empty reply is enough to know you don't have a valid reply to me, so your idiotic rebuttal is just you spouting how "pathetic my response was" but it included no context on how it wasn't a viable response to you. After that, you get sensitive and cry about how I exposed your shitty *public* YouTube video. Don't bother replying to me again, you'll just keep embarrassing yourself.
Taylor Gable (1 year ago)
+Nathan Gambill Also, mad props to you for pushing through and continuing to pump iron with the disability. The fortunate people take what they have for granted, awesome to see you doing your best to make gains even with your troubles. Rock on
+Mario Anchovy That was the most pathetic attempt to shut me down that I have ever encountered. You actually wanted to shut me down so bad that you went to my page to see a video of my 12 year old daughter dancing and use it against me...lol. My friend, you need more practice...I do give you points for trying to be the hero and come to the rescue...good try...but you are basic.
