Today I'm going to share with you a few of the leading pituitary gland tumor symptoms and how someone may be able to prevent this problem. I like to think of the human body as one giant assembly line with all these different moving parts and workers. The CEO is the brain, then you have the managers, which are hormones and lastly you have all the workers. The pituitary gland is responsible for creating and training many of the hormones that travel around telling the workers what to do. It's a tiny gland about the size of a pea and is found at the lower part of the brain. A tumor is a swelling in a part of the body, usually without inflammation. It is caused by an abnormal growth of cells or tissues. What causes this abnormal cell growth still puzzles many of the smartest minds in the medical field, but like most health problems genetics can play a role. This means that if pituitary gland tumors run in your family it increases the chance of you getting it because you inherit your families genes. Since hormones manage many body functions there could be a wide range of symptoms. One of the most common indicators that something is wrong in the body is going to be pain. A frequent headache could be sign of this problem. Another common sign according to the National Cancer Institute is peripheral vision loss. This means that someone loses the ability to see in the corners of a person's vision. One of the hormones that this gland produces has to do with body hair. If you notice that you are losing body or facial hair that could be a sign of your pituitary gland not working. Women could have less frequent menstrual periods or a lack of milk from their chest area. A reduced libido, lovemaking problems, fatigue and nausea are all signs as well. There are three steps you will want to take to get rid of adrenal fatigue for good. The first starts with your diet. Foods to get out of your diet are caffeine, sugar, and hydrogenated oils. What is the Pituitary Gland. The pituitary is an endocrine (hormone-producing) gland that sits just beneath the base of the brain, behind the bridge of the nose. It is very small – only about the size of a pea. The pituitary gland is very important as it takes messages from the brain (via a gland called the hypothalamus) and uses these messages to produce hormones that affect many parts of the body, including stimulating all the other hormone-producing glands to produce their own hormones. For this reason it is often referred to as the ‘master gland’. The pituitary gland has two parts. The anterior (or front) pituitary produces hormones that affect the adrenals, thyroid, ovaries and testes, as well as several other hormones. The main glands affected by the posterior (or rear) pituitary are the kidneys. The pituitary gland produces a number of hormones. Hormones are essential for many aspects of life. Some send messages to other endocrine glands to tell them to increase or decrease production of their hormones. One such example is TSH, which stimulates the thyroid to grow and produce thyroid hormones. So this is all about pituitary gland. You must have a proper amount of iodine consumption in order to feed the thyroid and ensure proper functioning - either too little or too much can lead to a slew of health problems. Essentially, without iodine, the thyroid cannot function. 5. Back in the early 1920s the US added iodine in salt due to a nutritional deficiency of iodine leading to diseases such as goiter.
