VItamin D Deficiency - 1.5 Year Recovery

17:41
Vitamin D Deficiency - 1.5 years of recovery This video is about my year and a half long recovery from vitamin d deficiency. I have supplemented with vitamin d3 for 1.5 years. Months 1-6 = 70,000 iu/week Months 7-12 = 35,000 iu/week Months 13-18+ = 15,000-20,000 iu/week I recently added vitamin k2, please talk to your doctor before taking this. Especially if you take a blood thinning medication. Vitamin k2 will have the opposite effect of a blood thinner and will help to thicken/clot your blood. If you are have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), hormonal imbalance, or infertility, you may want to see an acupuncturist. Acupuncture has helped me a lot with balancing my hormones and regulating my period. I had amenorrhea for years and have finally been able to get multiple periods naturally. I used to have really painful dry eyes. They have gotten better since recovering from vitamin d deficiency. I do have allergies though that make my eyes itchy and feel like sand paper. I take an allergy medication before bed and put vaseline on my eye lid, around my eyes and on my nose. I wash it off first thing in the morning. Some other symptoms I had include: red tinted skin, numbness/tingling in fingers and toes, fatigue, weakness, bone pain, brain fog, unbalance mood/irritable, difficulty losing weight, excess fat in mid section (visceral fat), bloating in abdomen, sugar cravings, muscle aches/tingling Disclaimer: This video is solely based on my experience and is meant only to share that information. What Are Vitamin D Deficiency Symptoms?

06:05
For more info: https://draxe.com/vitamin-d-deficiency-symptoms/?utm_campaign=Youtube-Apr-2015&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=vitaminddeficiency In this video I’m going to talk about the benefits of vitamin D as well as symptoms of vitamin D deficiency. In certain studies, Americans has been found to be the #1 population in vitamin D deficiency. Some of the main symptoms of vitamin D deficiency are a weakened immune system, candida or bacterial overgrowth, emotional ups and downs, hormone imbalance, trouble putting on muscle or losing weight, weakened bones or teeth, cancer, heart disease, or diabetes. Vitamin D supports having a healthy immune response, digestive health, hormone balance, and more. The biggest causes of vitamin D deficiency are not getting enough sunlight, certain chemicals from plastic bottles (bpa), and toxicity. Try to get outside everyday for about 20-30 minutes of natural sunlight. Certain foods that are sources of vitamin D are wild caught fish, raw fermented milk, mushrooms, and eggs. However, there are small amounts in the food you eat. For a good supplement, I would recommend a high quality vitamin D supplement. You don’t want to take vitamin D2, but you do want to take vitamin D3. For supplementation, take about 2000-5000 IUs a day. However, if you have a severe deficiency, then for 1-2 months, you may take 5000 IUs twice daily. Lastly, you want to take your vitamin D3 with some form of fat like coconut oil or avocado to help absorption in your body. Follow us on Twitter: @foods4health1 Recipes4Health: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2bZhXBHIb51n1fE3VWPmcQ/videos To learn more about the health benefits of food, visit: http://www.benefitsoffood.blogspot.com Vitamin D is very important for our bodies since it effects a number of bodily functions. We often get this vitamin from exposure to sunlight, but it is also obtained by eating certain foods such as fish and dairy products. Vitamin D supplementation is also popular, since getting enough of this vitamin is difficult from diet alone. Unfortunately, there are quite a few individuals who are deficient in this vitamin without even knowing it as the signs and symptoms are either subtle or not well known. Over time this could have a negative effect on an individuals quality of life. Lets discuss some signs and symptoms of vitamin D deficiency. 1. Those who are vitamin D deficient may feel more fatigued and tired. Since there are so many reasons why we can feel tired and fatigued during the day, such as lack of sleep or obesity, vitamin D deficiency is often overlooked. Vitamin D deficiency can cause daytime fatigue or even make it harder to get out of bed in the mornings, even with quality sleep. 2. Vitamin D plays an important role in keeping our immune system strong and free from different bacteria and illness. This is because vitamin D directly effects the cells that are responsible for fighting against infection. Therefore, another sign and symptom of vitamin D deficiency is getting sick more often. Low levels of vitamin D can be a contributing factor to becoming infected with cold and flus more often. As well, it has been found that taking vitamin D supplements may reduce the risk of certain respiratory tract infections. 3. Another possible symptom of vitamin D deficiency is bone and lower back pain. Vitamin D is an important vitamin for maintaining overall bone health. It supports bone health and helps with the body’s absorption of calcium. It has been found that those individuals with a vitamin D deficiency were more like to have back pain which often limited their daily activities. As well, they were also more likely to have bone pain through out their bodies, such as in their legs and joints. A deficiency in this vitamin will not only cause bone pain, but it can also cause bone loss since it not only helps with calcium absorption, but also bone metabolism. This can lead to lower bone mineral density. 4. Vitamin D deficiency may also negatively effect our mood. Feelings of depression may be a sign of vitamin D deficiency. This has often been linked to older adults. By being deficient in this vitamin, it may also cause seasonal depression during the colder months, when exposure to sunlight is limited. Depression and all mental health symptoms are complex and should be discussed with your medical practitioner to determine its exact cause and remedy. 5. Lastly, another sign and symptom of vitamin D deficiency may be hair loss. When hair loss is severe, this can be the result of nutrient deficiency. Hair loss may be a sign of vitamin D deficiency in female-patten hair loss. As well, there have been links found between low levels of vitamin D and alopecia areata, and low levels of this vitamin may be a risk factor for developing this autoimmune disease which can effect hair loss. Be sure to discuss any of the above signs and symptoms with your medical practitioner to determine their exact cause and also to discuss the correct amount of vitamin D you should be taking daily to support your health. 10 Serious Lack Of Vitamin D Warning Signs

03:47
Muscle weakness is usually caused by a Vitamin D deficiency. Muscles have Vitamin D receptors. They must have a constant supply of Vitamin D to function. If your body has a deficiency of Vitamin D, your muscles will have trouble functioning. Bone Pain Shunning the sun and being lactose intolerant can leave you with a deficiency of Vitamin D. This can lead to bone pain, which can be difficult to distinguish from muscle or joint pain, but generally manifests as a deep, full pain that can't be isolated to an exact area. Constant Respiratory Problems Studies show that Vitamin D may help defend against respiratory illness. This is especially true in children. If your child has severe asthma, you may want to increase their Vitamin D intake. Sweaty Head Years ago, doctors used to ask new mothers if their newborns' heads were sweating more than normal. This is apparently a very early sign that a baby is Vitamin D deficient. If you're breastfeeding, you'll need to increase your sun exposure or consume more foods rich in Vitamin D. Depression According to the Vitamin D Council, this essential nutrient helps your brain's neurotransmitters produce the fluid serotonin. This produces our feelings of happiness. Studies have linked low levels of Vitamin D with episodes of depression. This happens especially during the winter months, because of the lack of sun during that time of year. Chronic Infections The Mayo Clinic has advised that Vitamin D is crucial to our body's health. It is a necessary vitamin in helping our body fight infections. If you notice you or your child is prone to getting infections, you might want to ask your doctor to give you a Vitamin D blood test. Cardiovascular Disease Articles published by the National Institutes of Health have shown that deficiencies in Vitamin D can lead to congestive heart failure. Make sure your body maintains the proper amounts to guard against the risk. Home tests are available to check if you have a lack of Vitamin D. Psoriasis Although psoriasis is not always caused by a lack of Vitamin D, it's used in treatment. The Mayo Clinic claims that if you have a lack of Vitamin D it will be harder for your body to defend itself against psoriasis. Chronic Pain Studies have shown that low Vitamin D levels impact a person's chances of having chronic pain. People with darker skin are more prone to these effects, because they need more sun exposure to actually absorb any Vitamin D. Tiredness Vitamin D is one of the necessary vitamins for your body to create energy. Without it you can end up feeling tired most of the day. This will make it hard for you to get around or even get to work. You should consult your doctor if you have constant feelings of tiredness. Hypertension Harvard University conducted a study on women. The study showed that women with low levels of Vitamin D have a 67 percent increased risk of hypertension. If you suffer from anxiety, you may want to consider purchasing Vitamin D supplements and adding them to your daily routine. Crankiness Vitamin D also affects the levels of serotonin in your brain, which is what impacts your mood. If you're feeling cranky, it might be because you're not producing enough serotonin!

Vitamin D & Brain Health: How D3 Affects Mood

04:21
Click Here to Subscribe: http://Bit.ly/ThomasVid Website: http://ThomasDeLauer.com Vitamin D & Brain Health: How D3 Affects Mood - Thomas DeLauer I talk about vitamin D a lot, but I really want to start making the connection to brain health, because a lot of us are battling with anxiety, we're battling with depression, we're battling with mood disorders and we don't always want to talk about it. But what if I told you that part of the solution very well could be our relationship with vitamin D, what we're getting from the sun. And not necessarily just the vitamin D that we're getting from the sun, but the vitamin D that we're getting from our food and potentially from our supplementation. I'm going to dive into the details of how that connection actually takes place. According to the National Library of Medicine we found that about 40-50% of Americans are already deficient in vitamin D. When you start thinking that vitamin D might be linked with mood disorders, well, then it's pretty evident that we need to be paying attention to it. Now the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics found that the link between vitamin D and our mood lies within the neurotransmitter serotonin. Now that serotonin neurotransmitter is what's responsible for us having a sense of well being. For us feeling calm, cool, and collected. Quite the opposite of feeling anxious or potentially depressed. Well, I'm going to get into the intricate details of it in just a minute, so you understand how serotonin works and so that you can make the connection. But what we have to remember first and foremost, is that a lot of these ties are still widely unknown. This is a pretty new topic, pretty new investigations when it comes down to vitamin D and the brain. Let's take a look at serotonin really quick. Okay? It's the job of serotonin, again, to help us feel good. The process of actually creating serotonin in the body is pretty interesting. You see, it comes down to something called trip to fan. What trip to fan is, is an amino acid. Those amino acids are usually derive from proteins that we consume. When we consume those proteins we generally require carbohydrates to allow the trip to fan to enter into the brain. Well, what researchers are now finding is that vitamin D could be a very critical component in that conversion process. Essentially, eat protein, get the trip to fan, have it go into the brain with the help of carbohydrates and then vitamin D comes in and assists in the metabolism and the creation of serotonin. Right at the very root of creating this neurotransmitter that helps us feel good. Now researchers are continuing to back up the fact that everything seems to be lying in what are called monoamines. Monoamines are a group of neurotransmitters including serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine. All three neurotransmitters that truly regulate how the brain operates when it comes to feeling good. Again, if we see that link between vitamin D and the creation of these monoamines you can get the hint that well, it might be pretty critical to overall feeling well. There's one study in particular that I really want to reference because it backs a lot of this up and it was done by Oregon State University. What it looked at was a 185 female participants that were all college students, okay, between the ages of 18 and 25. What they did is they initially measured their vitamin D levels. They found naturally that a lot of them were already deficient in vitamin D. But what they did is they monitored these women for an extended period of time. They monitored them over the winter time, over the spring, over the summer, and they watched their vitamin D levels fluctuate. Of course, naturally, in the winter time vitamin D levels were significantly lower. References 1) Can Vitamin D Improve Mood? | Healthy Eating | SF Gate. (n.d.). 02:40
7 Signs Of Vitamin D Deficiency To Never Ignore ! Once considered an ageing problem, vitamin deficiencies have now become very common amongst all ages - especially teenagers and adolescents. Vitamin D is one such essential nutrient that helps your bones grow and stay strong. More importantly, Vitamin D is required for the absorption of calcium by the body. Vitamin D is primarily produced in your body when the sun’s ultraviolet rays strike the skin. If you’re not sure, here are seven signs and symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency. For some people, the symptoms may be very subtle, yet if you have been experiencing any of these regularly it’s best to consult your doctor at the earliest. 1. Feeling low and moody: The activity of the brain hormone, serotonin, increases with sun exposure. Studies have shown the low levels of Vitamin d in the body affects the amount of feel-good chemicals in the brain that can make you moody and irritable most of the times. 2. Chronic Pain: You experience regular aches, muscle weakness and joint pains. People with low levels of Vitamin D are more sensitive to pain. 3. Constant fatigue: You feel tired and fatigued all the time even after being well rested. You may also feel lethargic and anxious. Adequate amount of Vitamin D in the body is known to boost our energy levels and increase muscle functions. 4. Sweaty head: One of the most common signs of a Vitamin D deficiency is head sweating. In case of new-borns, a sweaty forehead is usually the first sign of Vitamin D deficiency. 5. Daytime sleepiness: A lot of studies indicate that people with low levels of Vitamin D are at a higher risk of experiencing daytime sleepiness and other sleep disorders. 6. Frequent flu attacks and respiratory infections: You may be prone to more allergies and infections since Vitamin D plays an important role in reducing inflammation and regulating the functions of the cells in your immune system. 7. Gum disease: Bleeding, reddening and swelling of the gums may also indicate low levels of Vitamin D. Simply put, it is mostly obtained from sun exposure but it is also naturally present in some foods like mushrooms, soy milk, eggs and oily fish. thank you for watching. please like, comment, subscribe and share with your friends and family.

6 Serious Illnesses Linked to Vitamin D Deficiency

03:40
The benefits of vitamin D may range from healthy bones and muscles to strong heart function. But do vitamin D deficiency diseases exist, too? Many people are aware of the dangers of overexposure to the sun. Skin cancer is at the top of the list of those dangers, and while we need to educate ourselves and understand how to properly protect ourselves from damage, caused by too much time spent in direct contact with the sun, we can’t simply avoid it altogether. Not getting enough sun has health risks associated with it too. That’s because when our bodies come in contact with sunlight, our skin translates it into a very important vitamin: vitamin D. In turn, once our body has vitamin D, it becomes a hormone that plays an important role in our bone structure, immune system, and even our mental health. Although you can take supplements or have a more complete diet to increase your vitamin D levels, the best way is to spend some much needed time outside. Some health officials estimate that 90 percent of Americans suffer from a vitamin D deficiency. So, let’s look at what happens when you don’t get enough vitamin D. 1. High blood pressure 2. Cancer 3. Diabetes 4. Rheumatoid arthritis 5. Asthma 6. Vitamin D Deficiency

05:22
This video is all about vitamin D Deficiency. Vitamin D is the main essential supplement of our body. Feeling fatigued might have become a common phenomenon in today’s fast-paced life, but then when the fatigue lasts for a longer time - it is time to raise the alarm. That is exactly what happened to me some time ago. I would often feel exhausted and tired, and more concerning was the fact that I was finding it difficult to focus and keep my interests up. To be honest, that is not a usual feeling for me as I am extremely conscious about my fitness regime and my diet; yet why was I not feeling my usual upbeat self? A few tests, a couple of consultations and Vitamin D Deficiency turned out to be the culprit. Alternatively, should I say, I was the culprit for the lack of Vitamin D in my body. I was put on Vitamin D Supplements, and it took me a good 3 months to recover completely. Now, why am I narrating this story to you? In all probabilities, even you could be Vitamin D Deficient without even knowing about it. Research says that about 90% of the people in Dubai are Vitamin D deficient and consequently, I spoke to Dr. Abul Fazil from Aster Clinic and Hospital to understand more about Vitamin D Deficiency. The aspects that he put forth are quite concerning. However, the most concerning part here is the fact that there are no edible resources of Vitamin D. Sardines, salmon, eggs, portobello mushrooms, tofu, almonds can provide some amount of Vitamin D…just about 10-20%, and that is definitely not enough. Vitamin D supplements are administered, like in my case, but then the body can absorb not more than 5-10% from these supplements. Vitamin D deficiency can lead to a lot of issues like depression, kidney disorders, and bone disorders in infants and elderlies, and much more. So then what’s the way to acquire enough Vitamin D.? It is quite simple actually…just get up and soak in the morning sunlight. Watch the video for Dr. Fazil’s valuable input on this for your benefit. At the end of it, I would just like to point out at one aspect. Our gyms are air-conditioned, homes have huge curtains, offices are behind dark glasses; in general and our lives are spent in concrete boxes. In this modern world, we have conveniently shielded ourselves from the primary source of life – The Sun, in turn disturbing the complete bio-chemical cycles of our body. So the next time that you feel fatigued and tired, feel disinterested, or even if you do not feel any of them; just get up wherever you are, walk out in the open, and soak in all the sunlight. Because feeling happy and bright under the sunshine…should need no reason. Do share any advice you may have for the viewers on dealing with Vitamin D deficiency. How to Fix Your Vitamin D Deficiency

07:54
The most frequent complaint I hear around this time of year is, “I don’t feel good… I’m tired all the time… I can’t shake this cold… I’m emotional.” My Natural response is to prescribe a little bit of sunshine – Vitamin D. There’s a reason flu season begins in November. It is not the month with the highest germ count, but it’s the month that everyone’s immune systems are severely lacking Vitamin D. Your body treats Vitamin D more like a hormone than a vitamin. That’s because it helps your body with every single cellular function because there are Vitamin D receptors in every single cell of your body. Vitamin D accounts for over 2000 functions in your body, so if you have a deficiency it's a very big deal.

Vitamin D is very important vitamin because calcium can not absorb from intestine in absence of Vitamin D. Vitamin D more we get from sunlight from UVB rays & less we get from food. So,it is compulsory to take sunbath. Oily fish, milk, butter, egg yolk are sources of vitamin D but it contain very less amount which is not sufficient. Deficiency of vitamin D occurs to the person who dont have exposure to sunlight due to indoor work whole day like businessman, housewife etc. Also deficiency occurs to the people who covered their body for religious purpose & the countries above 50 lattitude where little exposure of sunrays especially during october to early march. Fortunately viamin d is fat soluble vitamin so deficiency dont occur over night. It takes months till that body uses vit d from stored parts. People of north canada & USA advised to take fortified Vit D dairy products to avoid deficiency. In deficiency of vitamin D there is deficiency of calcium occurs. In defideficiency of calcium there are so many disease related to bone occurs. 1. Rickets - It occurs in children where legs bent out & development of child is very poor. 2.Osteomalacia - bone pain & muscle pain occurs in mild osteomalacia & fragility fracture occurs in severe stage. 3.Osteoporosis - due to lack of calcium bone becomes brittle & fracture occurs from normal movement.Pressure & sneezing may cause fracture. Some studies shown that cancer of skin occurs due to sun exposure. But it is subject who continous/more work in sunlight. They may use sunscreen to avoid bad effects. Conclussion is that vit d is necessary to absorb calcium. We dont get enough from food so you must take sunbath for 15 min to 30 min everyday or twice or thrice per week. For any query mail me at pabaribvn@gmail.com.I try my best to help you. Thanks.

11 Signs And Symptoms Of Vitamin D Deficiency In Men & Women

04:27
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin which is essential for optimal health. This vitamin is mostly made in the skin by exposure to sunlight but some foods contain very little vitamin D naturally. Vitamin D is needed for the absorption and use of phosphorus and calcium from the small intestine and is also crucial for normal mineralization of bones. Moreover, this vitamin fights infections, including flu and colds, as it regulates the expression of genes that influence your immune system to attack and destroy viruses and harmful bacteria. Currently, it is estimated more than 1 billion people worldwide have low vitamin D levels. Vitamin D deficiency can result from many reasons, including - inadequate exposure to sunlight, too much sunscreen protection, certain prescription medications, pregnancy, dark skin pigmentation, and abnormal intestinal absorption. The most accurate way to measure how much vitamin D you have in your body is the 25-hydroxy vitamin D blood test. A level less than 12 ng/mL signifies vitamin D deficiency. A level of 20 nanograms/milliliter to 50 ng/mL is considered adequate for healthy people. Vitamin D deficiency doesn’t always cause symptoms, however, sometimes it does, and some of the symptoms may include: #1 Depression - studies have linked low levels of vitamin D with episodes of depression. This usually occurs particularly during the winter months because of the lack of sun during that time of year. #2 Obesity - the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency is higher in persons with high subcutaneous adiposity and high visceral adiposity than in individuals with low subcutaneous and visceral adiposity. #3 Fatigue - this vitamin is necessary for the body to produce energy. Hence, if you are constantly tired, best to play it safe and get your vitamin D levels checked. #4 Headaches - according to a Finnish study, people with the lowest levels of vitamin D were more than twice as likely to have headaches at least once a week, compared to those with the highest levels. #5 Mood changes and irritability - the so-called happy hormone (serotonin) falls with a lack of sun exposure. Therefore, if you feel low or irritable, it could be a sign. #6 Restless sleep - the connection between restless sleep and vitamin D deficiency is not surprising since vitamin D is involved in the regulation of phosphorous and calcium as well as brain function and immune regulation. #7 Bone pain - low blood levels of vitamin D may be a contributing factor to bone pain and lower back pain. #8 A general unwell feeling - subtle aches and an overall feeling of being unwell may be a primary symptom of a vitamin D deficiency. #9 Sweating too much - excessive sweating due to overstimulation of sweat glands is described as an early symptom of vitamin D deficiency. The most common areas for this to occur is the neck and head. #10 Low immunity - one of the most common symptoms of deficiency in vitamin D is an increased risk of illness or infections because it has a significant role in the immune function. #11 High blood pressure - numerous studies have concluded that there is a link between vitamin D and high blood pressure. Important note - Most experts recommend getting about 15 minutes per day of direct sunlight without wearing sunscreen if you are fair to medium toned. More importantly, if you have dark skin, you will likely need more time in the sun to produce sufficient vitamin D since your skin has more protection against the sun’s effects. Cruciferous vegetables contain a compound which helps you use vitamin D better. This compound is called sulforaphane, and you’ll find it in cruciferous plants (including cabbage, cauliflower, kale, and broccoli) and spicy herbs. Thank you. How To Know The Deficiency Of Vitamin D In Our Body | Gold Star Health

07:33
How To Know The Deficiency Of Vitamin D In Our Body | Gold Star Health Fights disease Reduces depression Boosts weight lossVitamin D deficiency Food sources How much you need Sunshine vitamin Vitamin D is called the “sunshine vitamin” because it’s produced in your skin in response to sunlight. It’s a fat-soluble vitamin in a family of compounds that includes vitamins D-1, D-2, and D-3. Your body produces vitamin D naturally when it’s directly exposed to sunlight. You can also get it through certain foods and supplements to ensure adequate levels of the vitamin in your blood. Vitamin D has several important functions. Perhaps the most vital are regulating the absorption of calcium and phosphorus, and facilitating normal immune system function. Getting a sufficient amount of vitamin D is important for normal growth and development of bones and teeth, as well as improved resistance against certain diseases. If your body doesn’t get enough vitamin D, you’re at risk of developing bone abnormalities such as soft bones (osteomalacia) or fragile bones (osteoporosis). Here are three more surprising benefits of vitamin D. 1. Vitamin D fights disease In addition to its primary benefits, research suggests that vitamin D may also play a role in: reducing your risk of multiple sclerosis, according to a 2006 study published in the Journal of the American Medical Associationdecreasing your chance of developing heart disease, according to findings published in Circulationhelping to reduce your likelihood of developing the flu, according to 2010 research published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition 2. Vitamin D reduces depression Research has shown that vitamin D might play an important role in regulating mood and warding off depression. In one study, scientists found that people with depression who received vitamin D supplements noticed an improvement in their symptoms. In another study of people with fibromyalgia, researchers found vitamin D deficiency was more common in those who were also experiencing anxiety and depression. 3. Vitamin D boosts weight loss Consider adding vitamin D supplements to your diet if you’re trying to lose weight or prevent heart disease. You can find a great selection of vitamin D supplements In one study, people taking a daily calcium and vitamin D supplement were able to lose more weight than subjects taking a placebo supplement. The scientists said the extra calcium and vitamin D had an appetite-suppressing effect. In another study, overweight people who took a daily vitamin D supplement improved their heart disease risk markers. Beware of D-ficiency Many factors can affect your ability to get sufficient amounts of vitamin D through the sun alone. These factors include: Being in an area with high pollutionUsing sunscreenSpending more time indoorsLiving in big cities where buildings block sunlightHaving darker skin. (The higher the levels of melanin, the less vitamin D the skin can absorb.) These factors contribute to vitamin D deficiency in an increasing number of people. That’s why it’s important to get some of your vitamin D from sources besides sunlight. The symptoms of a vitamin D deficiency in adults include: tiredness, aches and pains, and a general sense of not feeling wellsevere bone or muscle pain or weakness that may cause difficulty climbing stairs or getting up from the floor or a low chair, or cause you to walk with a waddling gaitstress fractures, especially in your legs, pelvis, and hips Doctors can diagnose a vitamin D deficiency by performing a simple blood test. If you have a deficiency, your doctor may order X-rays to check the strength of your bones. If you’re diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency, your doctor will likely recommend you take daily vitamin D supplements. If you have a severe deficiency, they may instead recommend high-dose vitamin D tablets or liquids. You should also make sure to get vitamin D through sunlight and the foods you eat. Food sources of vitamin D Few foods contain vitamin D naturally. Because of this, some foods are fortified. This means that vitamin D has been added. Foods that contain vitamin D include: salmonsardinesegg yolkshrimpmilk (fortified)cereal (fortified)yogurt (fortified)orange juice (fortified) It can be hard to get enough vitamin D each day through sun exposure and food alone, so taking vitamin D supplements can help. How much do you need? There has been some controversy over the amount of vitamin D needed for healthy functioning. Recent research indicates that you need more vitamin D than was once thought. Normal blood serum levels range from 50 to 100 micrograms per deciliter. Depending on your blood level, you may need more vitamin D. Dr. Venkata seshaiah

Best Time To Take Vitamins and Supplements

02:56
Do you know how to take your vitamins and supplements? Timing is everything when it comes to taking your vitamins and supplements, so we've put together a guide to help you maximize the powerful health benefits that come from taking them at the right time. Read more about this on our blog: http://blog.professionalsupplementcenter.com/the-best-time-to-take-nutritional-supplements/ Morning: -Probiotics - Probiotics are best taken in the morning on an empty stomach. • When the stomach is empty, digestive activity is quiet and stomach acid and pH balance are relatively low, increasing the chances for the helpful microorganisms to thrive. -Iron - Iron is best absorbed in the morning on an empty stomach. • Caffeine, dairy and calcium can negatively affect absorption, so it's best to avoid these for several hours after taking iron. -Multivitamins - Take multivitamins with your first meal. In the morning! • As multivitamins contain both water and fat soluble vitamins, be sure to include some healthy fats with your meal for optimal absorption. -B-Complex vitamins - Taking B vitamins with breakfast helps to boost your metabolism and convert your food into energy, which can be used throughout the day. -Vitamin C- Vitamin C is best taken in the morning to support the immune system and boost energy levels. • Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin that lasts only a few hours in the blood stream, so if your formula recommends more than 1 tablet per day, take it in divided doses with meals to get the full benefit. Noon: -CoQ10 - CoQ10 is best taken at lunch time with a meal that contains dietary fats. • Avoid taking CoQ10 late in the day so it doesn't disturb your sleep. -Vitamin D - Vitamin D is best taken with a meal that contains dietary fats. • It's possible that Vitamin D can negatively affect sleep, so lunch time is a good time to get your Vitamin D. -Iodine - Iodine is not stored in the body, so regular intake is needed. kelp tablets taken with lunch may boost midday energy levels. -Vitamin K - Vitamin K is best absorbed along with dietary fats and ideally should be taken during the middle of the day. • Avoid taking vitamin K if you are taking Coumadin or any anticoagulant prescription drug, as Vitamin K can interfere with the effects of the medication. Night: - Fish oil - Important to support many aspects of health, fish oil is best taken with a main meal like dinner to aid absorption. -Calcium - Calcium aids nerve transmission and muscle function. To get the full benefit, take calcium in the evening along with magnesium. -Magnesium - Magnesium has a calming effect on the muscles and nervous system and may aid restful sleep. • Magnesium works synergistically with calcium, so take these together either as individual supplements or in a combined formula. In addition: -Digestive Enzymes - Digestive enzymes can be taken with any meal or within 30 minutes of your meal. Unless you have serious digestive issues, they don't necessarily need to be taken with light meals or snacks, but can be very beneficial for optimal breakdown and absorption of nutrients when taken with main meals. -Fiber - Fiber supplements may be taken either first thing in the morning or before bed. Be sure to take fiber with a full glass of water and get plenty of water during the day. Fiber can delay or reduce the absorption of certain medications so always check with your healthcare provider before taking. Another shape is vitamin D2, and is likewise called ergocalciferol, which is produced using ergosterol. Rickets: The History of Vitamin D. In 1913, vitamin A was found in cod liver oil by American specialists Elmer McCollum and Marguerite Davis. A British specialist named Edward Mellanby started giving cod liver oil to pooches and saw that it kept them from creating rickets. In 1921, McCollum adjusted cod liver oil by obliterating the vitamin An, and rehashed Mellanby's examination. He found that the mutts still did not create rickets and presumed that there was another compound in the oil that kept the sickness, which he named vitamin D. In 1923, Harry Steenbock, an American natural chemist at the University of Wisconsin, found that illuminating sustenances and other natural material with bright light expanded the vitamin D content. Steenbock utilized his illumination system on sustenance given to rats and found that it cured them of rickets. In the wake of licensing the development, Steenbock's strategy was utilized to light nourishments, particularly dairy items like drain, which expanded their vitamin D content and basically annihilated rickets. It wasn't until 1936 that the synthetic structure of vitamin D was really separated by Robert Benedict Bourdillon, Otto Rosenheim, Harold King and Kenneth Callow, every one of whom teamed up on the disclosure. In the liver, vitamin D is changed over into the prohormone calcidiol. As calcidiol goes through the circulatory system, the kidneys or monocyte-macrophages in the insusceptible framework change over calcidiol into calcitriol, which is the naturally dynamic type of vitamin D. Once changed over, it is consumed by target cells, particularly the digestive organs among others. It regulates more than 1,000 bodily functions, not to mention, the vitamin D testosterone benefits are quite profound. Vitamin D occurs naturally in fish and eggs, although the best way to get it is through regular sun exposure. Vitamin D is actually not even a vitamin. It’s a steroid hormone, mistakenly named as a vitamin. This hormone D, regulates more than 1,000 bodily functions, including fertility, growth, hormone secretion, and sexual function. Needless to say that if your serum vitamin D levels are too low, more than 1,000 bodily functions are also somewhat impaired. Weeks 18 thru 20 - Iron Infusion, Vitamin D, Fatigue and Hair Loss | By: What Chelsea Eats

07:42
PLEASE READ!! Weeks 18 thru 20 - Iron Infusion, Vitamin D, Fatigue and Hair Loss | By: What Chelsea Eats Hi Y'all, Welcome to What Chelsea Eats! I am so sorry for my hiatus. In this video I am going to tell you all about it. I have been continuing experiencing extreme fatigue - Mix of vitamin d and iron deficiencies. Not enough energy or mental focus to shoot or edit videos. I went on a trip to San Francisco - Business and Pleasure. I do have footage that I will be putting together to share with you some of the things that I did while I was there. I didn't do nearly as much as I would have liked because of the way I was feeling. Hair loss this week was even worse. My eating has not been the best over these last few weeks. I didn't really feel like cooking much. Most of what I did is lay around and do nothing. Iron Infusions yesterday - 7 1/2 hours long, mix was water, salt, sugar and iron - so I am swollen, I slept the whole day because they gave me 50 mg of Benadryl in case of an allergic reaction and 500 mg of Tylenol in case of fever. I feel much better today. This is the first day in a long time that I have felt like exercising and actually working. The iron infusion helped. I will see in 30 days where my levels are and they will tell me whether or not I will need to have another infusion. My gut says I will probably need 1 more. Continuing to take vitamin d. I take 10,000 iu's per day and some days I take 15.000 iu's. I will have it checked in 30 days as well. I will give you a weight in update next week. Sorry I have been gone so long. I missed you. Thanks for watching and I will talk to you soon. How to Naturally Overcome Vitamin B12 Deficiency

07:33
For more on Vitamin B12 foods, you can check out my article: https://draxe.com/top-10-vitamin-b12-foods/ In this video, I’m going to talk about how to overcome Vitamin B12 deficiency and the health benefits of Vitamin B12. Surprisingly, about 40% of the population is deficient. Some of the big warning signs that you are Vitamin B12 deficient are if you struggle with low energy, fatigue, lack of focus, poor memory, poor cellular function, autoimmune disease, anemia, or thyroid condition. The biggest reason most people have Vitamin B12 deficiency is because they don’t have a healthy digestive system to digest this vitamin properly, also known as leaky gut. If you can’t absorb nutrients and vitamins properly, then you won’t be able to absorb the vitamins you need for optimal health. People who struggle with leaky gut or digestive issues, vegans or vegetarians, and people who don’t have enough probiotics in their diet all tend to have a Vitamin B12 deficiency. Some of the benefits of Vitamin B12 include red blood cell formation, which is vital to heart health, cellular function, and supporting the brain and nerve system. If you want to overcome Vitamin B12 deficiency, then you must follow these specific steps: 1. Consume more Vitamin B12-rich foods (liver, wild-caught fish, grass-fed lamb and beef, and raw dairy products) 2. Take a Probiotic (increases absorption) 3. Heal your gut (getting inflammatory foods out of your diet) 4. Supplementation (Vitamin B12, B complex, desiccated liver supplement) If you can follow these steps, you will notice improvements immediately and overcome your Vitamin B12 deficiency. *This content is strictly the opinion of Dr. Josh Axe, and is for informational and educational purposes only. Increased risk of blood pressure, increased the risk of diabetes. These all things are connected with a deficiency of Vitamin D. Diagnosis of vitamin D deficiency is conducted by a simple blood test. This blood test is performed on automated machine in Chughtai Lab. You can get results of Vitamin D test in few hours. If you want to access your level of Vitamin D, you can access is on your reports through Vitamin D scale that is given on your reports. Red or yellow zone means your level of Vitamin D is below than normal optimal level. And green zone means that your level of Vitamin D is normal. If you are Vitamin D deficient due to any reason, then add milk, egg, fish and vegetable in your diet. These food items contain the high level of Vitamin D. Vitamin D activates in a human body on the basis of sun exposure to skin. It is suggested to expose your skin to sun rays at least for 20 to 30 minutes. Kids will grow healthy and adults will enjoy the healthy lifestyle with proper Vitamin D level. In addition to this there are some supplements available; by using them we can increase our Vitamin D level.
