* Caution * If you are thinking about coming off any medications you should talk to your prescribing doctor first. The information in this video is for educational purposes only. Consult with a herbalist before going on a course of herbs. Benzodizapine's are addictive and many people end up on them for years. When they want to stop, they find it hard to come of these medications. Because of the stress associated with withdrawals, we need to focus on treating the nervous system, and the adrenals. Then we focus on other body systems that need support e.g., liver, lungs, heart There are different categories of herbs that herbalists refer to when helping someone deal with the symptoms of coming off benzodiazepines. Herb categories include; Nervine tonics Nervine relaxants Nervine Stimulants Antispasmodics Bitters Adaptogens Hepatics Nervine tonics support the person rebuild their vitality and strength after a long period of poor health Oats, Brahmi, Borage, Gotu Kola, St Johns Wort Blue Vervain Nervine relaxants act as natural tranquillisers and are used in the short term to promote sleep and relaxation Lavender Hops Lemon Balm Chamomile Wood betony Skull cap Passion flower Nervine stimulants are used to re-stimulate the mind after a long period of being sedated Guto Kola Ginkgo Cayenne Ginger Green Tea Anti-spasmodics help to alleviate muscular tension associated with withdrawal Cramp bark Chamomile Ginger Passion Flower Peppermint Hops Bitters Bitter herbs, promote good digestive function by stimulating the production of digestive juices and the dispatch of stored bile from the gallbladder to the small intestine after meals, thus aiding nutrient assimilation. Medicinal Herbs for Benzodiazepine Withdrawal: Valium, Ativan, Klonopin, Xanax

06:45
So, I pulled out the antianxiety herbal remedies that I keep in my medicine cabinet. This is posted to help people who may be suffering from Benzo withdrawals such as; Valium, Ativan, Klonopin and Xanax, etc. Benzodiazepine is a class of drugs that suppress the central nervous system and with prolonged use and abuse could cause major withdrawal systems where an atrocious state of being is an understatement. These herbs may also be used to combat anxiety for anyone that suffers from anxiety. It is especially beneficial for those that wish to escape the pharmaceutical dangers of psychoactive drugs. I have personally been prescribed this class of drugs, have taken them for anxiety and I find these herbs; isolated or in a blend to be effective.

Ada v Ativan - 1988 ITV - Benzodiazepine Documentary (Xanax, Klonopin, Valium)

33:10
Benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome—often abbreviated to benzo withdrawal—is the cluster of symptoms that emerge when a person who has taken benzodiazepines, either medically or recreationally, and has developed a physical dependence undergoes dosage reduction or discontinuation. Development of physical dependence and/or addiction and the resulting withdrawal symptoms, some of which may last for years, may result from either drug-seeking behaviors or from taking the medication as prescribed. Benzodiazepine withdrawal is characterized by sleep disturbance, irritability, increased tension and anxiety, panic attacks, hand tremor, sweating, difficulty with concentration, confusion and cognitive difficulty, memory problems, dry retching and nausea, weight loss, palpitations, headache, muscular pain and stiffness, a host of perceptual changes, hallucinations, seizures, psychosis,[1] and suicide[2][3] (see "Signs and Symptoms" section below for full list). Further, these symptoms are notable for the manner in which they wax and wane and vary in severity from day to day or week by week instead of steadily decreasing in a straightforward monotonic manner.[4] It is a potentially serious condition, and is complex and often protracted in time course.[5][6] Long-term use, defined as daily use for at least three months,[7] is not desirable because of the associated increased risk of dependence,[8] dose escalation, loss of efficacy, increased risk of accidents and falls, particularly for the elderly,[9] as well as cognitive,[10] neurological, and intellectual impairments.[11] Use of short-acting hypnotics, while being effective at initiating sleep, worsen the second half of sleep due to withdrawal effects.[12] Nevertheless, long-term users of benzodiazepines should not be forced to withdraw against their will.[5] Benzodiazepine withdrawal can be severe and can provoke life-threatening withdrawal symptoms, such as seizures,[13] particularly with abrupt or overly rapid dosage reduction from high doses or long time users.[5] A severe withdrawal response can nevertheless occur despite gradual dose reduction, or from relatively low doses in short time users,[14] even after a single large dose in animal models.[15][16] A minority of individuals will experience a protracted withdrawal syndrome whose symptoms may persist at a sub-acute level for months, or years after cessation of benzodiazepines. The likelihood of developing a protracted withdrawal syndrome can be minimized by a slow, gradual reduction in dosage.[17] Chronic exposure to benzodiazepines causes neural adaptations that counteract the drug's effects, leading to tolerance and dependence.[18] Despite taking a constant therapeutic dose, long-term use of benzodiazepines may lead to the emergence of withdrawal-like symptoms, particularly between doses.[19] When the drug is discontinued or the dosage reduced, withdrawal symptoms may appear and remain until the body reverses the physiological adaptations.[20] These rebound symptoms may be identical to the symptoms for which the drug was initially taken, or may be part of discontinuation symptoms.[21] In severe cases, the withdrawal reaction may exacerbate or resemble serious psychiatric and medical conditions, such as mania, schizophrenia, and, especially at high doses, seizure disorders.[22] Failure to recognize discontinuation symptoms can lead to false evidence for the need to take benzodiazepines, which in turn leads to withdrawal failure and reinstatement of benzodiazepines, often to higher doses.[22] Awareness of the withdrawal reactions, individualized taper strategies according to withdrawal severity, the addition of alternative strategies such as reassurance and referral to benzodiazepine withdrawal support groups, all increase the success rate of withdrawal.[23][24] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benzodiazepine_withdrawal_syndrome https://books.google.com/books?id=t9-vA3jzMhYC&pg=PA211&lpg=PA211&dq=ada+vs+ativan&source=bl&ots=ZM5nt_T0bg&sig=tJAIfPgOu8RRQfXiL5xCqZ9mgn0&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjM1tCftJvXAhXl44MKHZx1BgUQ6AEIRjAF#v=onepage&q=ada%20vs%20ativan&f=false https://www.benzoinfo.com/

Ativan/Lorazepam withdrawal, everyday is horrible

07:37
PLEASE GUYS COMMENTS ON THIS VIDEO OR ADVISES ARE WELCOME! If you're planning on taking this stuff, please don't do it unless absolutely necessary. I got emotionally and physically dependent on this crap up to the point where I can't just stop cold turkey anymore...The withdrawal is too horrible cold turkey... - Tapering off this stuff, I get these withdrawal effects: pounding headaches, light anxiety, panicky feeling, confusion, light acute psychosis(!) and feeling woozy, like I'm out of touch with reality, light heart palpitations, constipation, stomach aches. The time I was dumb and I didn't taper off, I got: debilitating anxiety, panic attacks, pounding heart, feeling like my body is dying every second, acute psychosis, inner agony, feeling like I'm losing it, etc. And as a last note: don't take this medication, unless all other options are exhausted to remove your anxiety or sleeping problems. And If you take this crap, do it only when absolutely necessary..

I lost 25 lbs in 4 weeks and was in full panic or near panic for 8 weeks straight mixed with the darkest most painful depression I cold have ever imagined. I immediately could not work and had to move in with my parents who along with many siblings and friends had to watch me 24/7 as I was so suicidal. I was eventually hospitalized. Getting through each day seemed truly unbearable and I knew I would surely die. I have been put on many many different SSRI's SNRI's Tricyclics, Mood stabilizers, anti psychotics, holistic meds, acupuncture and even a form of shock therapy called RTMS. I barely saw any improvement in my condition for a full year. It was decided I had treatment resistant depression and I spent nearly every moment in tears. Weeks after starting my newest round of medications (Seroquel & Nortryptaline) as a last ditch effort, I had my blood drawn for possible hormone imbalances and my Testosterone levels came back 200 ng/Dl and 150 ng/Dl. The average 25 year old male has 750 ng/Dl. With this discovery I for the first time had any type of possible explanation as to why I was not getting better and why I might be so so sick. The symptoms of such Low T are very similar to those of major depression. I started Testosterone replacement therapy soon after and have been checking in with the world and documenting my experience with treatment as well as giving my insight and perspective on various topics of mental health. I am blessed to say that I have slowly, over the last 4 years, been improving and becoming more stable which I never thought to be possible. My low T manifested itself in the form of Major depression, anxiety, and depersonalization/ derealization for over a year. Gaining some mental stability back is nothing short of a miracle as I was near death for what felt like forever. I do not consider myself to be totally healed yet but I am closer now then ever before and aim to use what I have been through to help or at least offer support to others in need I was able to successfully come off my Seroquel and Pamelor. I work out all the time as a part of my mental health recovery!!! Weight training and all kinds of cardio rule much of my free time!

Benzo Withdrawal: P.5 Brain on Benzos

02:52
www.lovedonesguidetobenzowithdrawal.com This is part 5 of a 5 part series that discusses what benzos (xanax, valium, klonopin, and ativan) do to the body. In this segment you will learn about what happens in your body when you take benzos and the ramifications of chronic use. This series is to help you better understand what is happening in your body when you take benzos and what is happening when you are withdrawing. These concepts are stripped down to basic forms for general information only. These videos should no be taken as medical advice. FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.
The risks of taking benzodiazepines (Klonopin, Xanax, Ativan) as prescribed

02:51
http://w-bad.org ► Are you or someone you know or love taking (or thinking about starting) a benzodiazepine or Z-drug? Benzodiazepines (Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan, Valium, Librium, and others) as well as Z-drugs (Ambien, Lunesta and others), which are similar, have the most debilitating withdrawal reactions in all of medicine. This happens in regular, everyday people who are taking the medications exactly as their doctor prescribed. It also happens to people on what they think are “low doses” and is not just a “high dose” problem. This happens because the prescribing guidelines for this class of drug recommend short-term (less than 2-4 weeks) use only, yet doctors are prescribing them for much longer. Even worse, these unsuspecting patients are given no warning (or informed consent) by their doctor about these risks and dangers before taking the prescription past the recommended timeline. The patients think the drugs are “safe” because they are prescribed when they are actually quite dangerous medications that are capable of inflicting sometimes severe and life-threatening withdrawal syndromes which are known, for some people, to persist for many years. Experts and studies estimate that as many as sixty percent of people taking benzodiazepines (such as Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan, Valium) and/or Z-drugs (aka nonbenzodiazepines, like Ambien) for more than the recommended 2-4 week time period will develop physical dependence, adverse effects, and withdrawal? 60% is actually a conservative percentage, as some other sources indicate that "50-80% of people regularly taking benzodiazepines (even in ‘low dose’) for longer than a few months will develop a physical tolerance to the drug and become dependent, resulting in difficulty stopping benzodiazepines because of withdrawal symptoms". 30% of long-term users will experience severe withdrawal or adverse effects which may include seizures, hallucinations, psychosis, akathisia, and sometimes suicide or death (people are especially at risk for severe withdrawal if they over-rapidly taper or cold-turkey their benzodiazepine/Z-drug). The tapers to discontinue these medications, once you’ve taken them past 2-4 weeks and depending on dose, can last many months or years (please see http://w-bad.org/slow-tapering-protocols/ for slow tapering protocol guidance). About 10-15% of people who withdraw will develop a protracted withdrawal syndrome which can potentially persist for many years (there are anecdotal reports of it persisting up to five, seven, and even ten years post-cessation.). Others, even after a slow, gradual reduction of the benzodiazepine or Z-drug will experience withdrawal that lasts for up to 18 months post-cessation. Physical dependence is a physical condition, a state of adaptation in the body caused by chronic use of a tolerance forming drug, in which abrupt or gradual drug withdrawal causes withdrawal. When someone becomes physically dependent to benzodiazepines (or Z-drugs), they are also at risk for developing tolerance. With benzodiazepines/Z-drugs, specifically, when the receptors in the brain become adapted or accustomed to the action of the original dose of BZ, more of the drug is needed in order for the desired therapeutic effect (or the original effect at the original dose) to be achieved. This means that the drug loses its effectiveness and the person taking it can begin to experience withdrawal symptoms while still taking the prescribed dose of the drug. Some common symptoms of tolerance include increasing anxiety, panic attacks, development of agoraphobia for the first time, interdose withdrawal (withdrawal symptoms emerging in between doses), as well as a plethora of other physical/neurological/psychological symptoms. This professional and powerful video features the words and voices of real, actual victims of these medications and their families and gives a firsthand look at the devastation caused by the irresponsible prescription of benzodiazepines. This video offers vital information on the risks of benzodiazepine prescription past the recommended 2-4 week guidelines, which is a worldwide epidemic. By spreading the word about taken-as-prescribed benzodiazepine risks, harms, and dangers, we at W-BAD (World Benzodiazepine Awareness Day) hope to bring awareness to the general public and the medical community about this problem before more people are needlessly harmed. Please help share this video with everyone you know and, together, we can prevent more victims of iatrogenic (caused by medicine) dependence, withdrawal, and injury from prescribed benzodiazepines and Z-drugs.Find out more or join us in raising awareness with W-BAD on July 11th at http://w-bad.org Note: W-BAD does not seek to restrict access to these drugs for those who feel that they may benefit from them, nor does it seek to force anyone to stop or reduce against their own will. ►Find W-BAD on Social Media: Facebook ► @WorldBenzoDay Twitter ► @WorldBenzoDay

Day 36 benzo cold turkey, DOCTOR prescribed, never abused benzos.

02:08
UPDATE: I am now 10 months off, doing much better than i was in this video but not fully healed. I've had lots of good comments, and lots of comments calling me a pussy. It's pretty funny honestly. People have asked what i'm feeling in this video, if it's just anxiety. It's not, it's severe pain and muscle tensing. I would feel what i thought was a hot knife travelling from my brain, down my neck, and it caused my entire body to tense up like there was acid or salt in my blood. The pressure and pain would travel down my neck into my back. I had about 5 of these episodes, this was the last one. I still have the feeling sometimes though. I used benzos for 5-6 years, on and off. Not knowing how much i was damaging myself. I reinstated 3 different times, and cold turkeyed twice. This video is my second cold turkey after my third reinstatement. I have many other videos documenting my withdrawal process. It has been hell, i've been to the darkest places of my mind and physical pain. But I push on, and won't give up, for my daughter. I love you Kyrie!

Xanax to Valium Withdrawal - Dan's Story

27:24
Dan was prescribed a benzodiazepine as a result of the side affects of other medications that he was prescribed. After being "cold turkeyed" from Xanax, Dan went months not knowing why he was suffering in such extreme ways. He was reinstated on a benzodiazepine and began to connect the dots that it was the benzodiazepine that was the culprit. He turned to the internet as so many do and found information on how to safely taper. Dan tapered from 15 mg of valium over a two year period. This is his story. What are benzos including xanax bars like? How abusing anxiety meds can lead to benzo addiction fast

10:41
Xanax, valium, klonopin, ativan, etc. experience described and how these can be some of the most dangerous drugs if not used as prescribed. Benzos can be incredibly medicinal and effective as anxiety meds. However, abusing xanax bars can quickly lead down a horrifically dark path of benzo addiction. Xannies cause sever drug withdrawal symptoms that can be lethal. Not only that, in xanax addiction people can engage in behaviors that risk their lives. Xanax dangers are somewhat swept under the rug. Drugs like heroin, meth, or crack are perceived as "worse" due to social stigma. This is far from the truth, benzodiazepines are hard drugs. Xanax dangers need to be exposed for anyone out there who's thinking of trying xanax abuse. A benzo problem can rob you of your sanity by destroying your sanity and everything you love. The xanax high isn't worth the consequences if this happens by a long shot. In this video I highlight my xanax experience with a series of xanax stories that played a part in my addiction. There are many benzos which essentially do the same thing which I highlight. The xanax drug can be medicinal when treated with respect, but abuse it and you'll get abused. This is one of the drug stories that can't have a happy ending and one of the drug experiences I don't wish upon my worse enemy. This is one of the most dangerous drugs out there. If you struggle to with drug addiction feel free to reach out to me for support! Benzodiazepine Withdrawal Sleep Attacks. PART 1

06:26
I have a clonazepam withdrawal symptom that I experience on a constant basis that may or may not be unique. I do not know if anyone else experiences this, but I would like to find out if so. Whenever I am laying down, and I am drowsy... As soon as my sleep starts to onset, my forehead and eyelids begin to twitch uncontrollably. I am unable to do anything about it. My face feels compelled, and as if it HAS to make these movements. Whats even worse, is when I REALLY start falling asleep, I suddenly get a feeling like my eyes are rolling back into my head, and upon that feeling, I get so frightened that I am immediately jerked out of my sleep. When this happens(And it happens a lot.) the only way for me to remedy this problem and for me to get sleep is for me to take another clonazepam. Its very very scary and uncomfortable. I swear that I do not fake this. If ANYBODY who watches this video deals with the same thing, please contact me to let me know. I wanna find out if this is something that other people deal with too or if it is just a withdrawal symptom unique to myself. Also.. If you know a good, and reasonable way to remedy this problem other than taking an extra pill(which is the only way I know of so far), please let me know. Your advice is appreciated. FOR THE RECORD : I am still taking a TOTAL of 3 mg of clonazepam per day. 1 Mg pills. I take two of these 1 mg pills in the morning. and then 1 at night...(NORMALLY)...and then when this withdrawal happens, the only way I can relieve it is to taken an extra...causing me to take a 4th pill.... I know this is not good because if I keep it up it could make the tolerance worse... But I am also unsure what is best for me to do at the moment.

Don't let a doctor prescribe you a benzo medication like klonopin, here's a good reason why.

08:32
If you get even one prescription of a benzodiazepine medication like klonopin (clonazepam), valium (diazepam), xanax (alprazolam), and ativan (lorazepam), etc. your brain will likely become physically dependent on them after a few weeks use and you could end up like me here or worse. You could end up with countless pill bottles of something that might be helping for a couple weeks, but then it stops working as well and you then up the dose. You get your dose high enough to where your breathing starts to become too depressed. Then you decide you want to come off the meds. But guess what, you can't just stop them. No, you are in for what is going to likely be over a year of trying to taper off your medication because even the smallest cut in dose is going to bring complete hell of withdrawal side effects. These meds change the gaba properties in your brain, the chemical that helps calm your nervous system. When you start cutting the benzo medication out, your brain takes it harshly and takes a long time to adjust back to controlling gaba on its own again. Please trust me when I say do not touch a benzo unless its your last hope. You may end up like me, or countless other people duped by their doctors into getting hooked on something that you are given no warning about its effects both during use and the complete hell of trying to come off of them.

What's Wrong With Me? Klonopin Xanax Ativan Valium

02:20
This is my experience with long term use of Klonopin and then Valium. This is not to be considered medical advice an I am not a medical professional. If you are are on a benzodiazepine like Klonopin, Xanax, Ativan, or Valium, you may be asking yourself "what's wrong with me?" Benzodiazepines can cause depression, they can cause also CAUSE anxiety. Benzos can cause insomnia. Klonopin, Xanax, Ativan and Valium can all cause an increase in muscle pain and fatigue. They can cause tinnitus, weakness, blurred vision memory problems. They can contribute to feeling surreal, to having depersonalization and derealization. I've experienced suicidal thoughts, suicidal feelings. Benzos can cause you to feel restless, to have akathisia. Please do your research. This class of medication should never be used more than short term. Physical dependence means you need to taper slowly. Dependence can happen in 2 weeks or less. Benzodiazepines like Klonopin, Xanax, Ativan and Valium were never supposed to be prescribed for more than short-term use. I've been damaged Resources, in part, include: http://www.benzobuddies.org https://www.facebook.com/groups/benzorecovery/ Many thanks to w-bad.org for getting the word out on #worldbenzoday
