Floyd Casey Stadium Implosion | Waco, Texas - May 14, 2016
http://bradharrellccim.com/case-closed-floyd-casey-stadium-imploded-on-saturday-morning-video-of-implosion/ - The last standing structure of Baylor University’s Floyd Casey Stadium was be taken down by implosion on Saturday morning at 7:00 AM. This completed the demolition of the stadium that has been replaced by McLane Stadium on Interstate 35. The implosion was scheduled for 7:00 AM Saturday and generated a rather loud noise. The site was secured and there was no public access during the procedure, which was conducted by Lloyd D. Nabors Demolition. The entire parking lot was closed at 6:00 AM, with pre-implosion warnings given at 6:55 AM and 6:59 AM. Construction of the old stadium was begun in May of 1949 with the first game played in it against the Houston Cougars in 1950. The last game played there was December 7, 2013 against the Texas Longhorns. The stadium could seat 50,000. The eighty-plus acres occupied the the stadium and parking lot will be going to the City of Waco in a land swap deal, with Baylor University getting a tract of land directly adjacent to McLane Stadium. Baylor is getting a much smaller tract, but the land they are receiving is considered prime real estate near the Brazos River and adjacent to I35. The city had provided millions in funding for infrastructure to support the new stadium with the agreement being that Baylor would be responsible for the demolition of Floyd Casey, that it would not be allowed to sit there empty. The land swap deal was worked out separately, with the city planning to make the land available for development.

Longtime home of Dallas Cowboys team demolished
(11 Apr 2010) 1. Wide of fireworks above stadium 2. Close of fireworks 3. Wide of crowd 4. Close of crowd filming 5. Wide of 11 year old boy Casey Rogers pushing button to start implosion 6. Wide of stadium implosion 7. Pan of debris 8. Wide of demolished stadium STORYLINE: The longtime home of the Dallas Cowboys football team in Texas has been demolished. Fireworks shot off above the building for several minutes, before hundreds of fans counted down as an 11 year-old competition winner set off the implosion. Casey Rogers of Terrell, Texas, pushed a button triggering the demolition. After about six months of planning, it took less than a minute to bring the concrete and steel stadium crashing down. More than a ton (tonne) of dynamite was used to destroy Texas Stadium, which was famous for the giant hole in its roof, "so God can watch his team," according to local lore. The Dallas Cowboys won all five of their Super Bowl titles at the stadium. The team moved to the new 1.2 billion (US) Cowboys Stadium in nearby Arlington after the 2008 season. Texas has a 10 year lease to use the property as a staging area for a highway construction project. Cleanup of the site is expected to take until July. A giant building implosion in Australia goes wrong
A demolition team were left red-faced after the building they were trying to bring down got stuck leaning to one side. Workers used 100kg of explosives in a controlled explosion, but it was not enough to bring down the 4,000-tonne silo in Redbank. For around 40 minutes, the structure resembled the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy as it stood at an angle. Excavators were used to push the building the rest of the way over. Detroit Stadium Implosion A Fizzle
On Sunday, a plan to demolish a derelict NFL stadium near Detroit went awry. This to the frustration of officials and the bemusement of a crowd gathered to watch the spectacle. A deafening series of blasts failed to topple the Pontiac Silverdome. Fans of the Detroit Lions joked on social media that the failed implosion was by no means the first time they found themselves leaving the stadium parking lot disappointed. The Lions is the team that called the Silverdome home until moving to a downtown stadium after the 2001 season. They have not won a National Football League championship since 1957. SPONSORED “Guess the Silverdome went through one too many implosions in its history,” the sports desk of the Detroit Free Press wrote on Twitter. Live video footage of the planned demolition, which Pontiac city officials said was to make way for new development, was broadcast online on Sunday morning for nostalgic fans and those who enjoy watching large structures collapsing in smoke. http://feeds.reuters.com/~r/Reuters/domesticNews/~3/8TTg-DWiQ94/suburban-detroit-stadium-still-standing-tall-after-implosion-fizzles-idUSKBN1DX0UA http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

Blowdown: Rocket Tower Controlled Demolition of NASA rocket tower 40 at Cape Canaveral
This is the ninth clip taken from Parallax Film's "Blowdown: Rocket Tower" episode. This clip documents the controlled implosion of a NASA rocket tower by CDI's expert demolition engineers. Twitter: http://twitter.com/ParallaxFilm Facebook: http://goo.gl/1M1D1 Buy the complete video: http://www.createspace.com/289398 Blowdown: page: http://goo.gl/IXBTe The Controlled Demolition Inc. team, experts in building implosions, faces a serious test as they load military grade, high-speed explosives to implode a NASA rocket launch tower, Mobile Service Tower 40, in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Parallax Film Productions profiles this explosive demolition journey. The Atlas and Titan rocket programs have come to an end. MST 40, once considered the largest moving structure in the world, must be demolished. Mark Loizeaux and his team will need more than 200 pound of high explosives -- shaped charges containing RDX -- for this Blowdown. They'll also need an unprecedented demolition engineering plan to take this 80-metre-tall tower down. Complex 40 was built for the Titan IIIC program. It operated from the program's first launch in 1965 until the last TITAN IV launch in 2005. It facilitated 55 historic missions over the years including the Mars Observer interplanetary mission, the Cassini mission to Saturn, six MILSTAR communications satellites, and numerous defense support endeavours. Notes: Contains the footage of the countdown and the actual implosion from many angles, including some dramatic high speed footage. Bus parks directly in front of Georgia Dome implosion
An Atlanta commuter bus ruins a painstaking livestream of the demolition of the iconic Georgia Dome, by making a stop at exactly the wrong moment. A crowd of onlookers can be seen lined up to watch the demolition, as a voice slowly counts down. Seconds after the first plume of smoke appears, a large bus slowly enters the frame. “No bus! Arlington Stadium... Before the Final Series
A few photos of the first home of the Texas Rangers... Arlington Stadium. I shot these in September of 1993 just before the final series was played there. I went just to take a few photos from the outside, and found the main front gate open and no one was around. So I walked in and just started shooting. Lost some of those pictures throughout the years, but recently found these. I hope these bring back some good memories for you.

El Paso City Hall Blown Up For New Stadium
A 10-storey city hall building in Texas has collapsed in just a few seconds after a controlled implosion to make way for a new baseball stadium. The decision to demolish the 34-year-old property had sparked protests in the city of El Paso. Authorities cordoned off a large section of the downtown area ahead of the blast, and hundreds gathered around the area to get a glimpse of the demolition. It is part of a plan to revamp the city's centre, including building a $50m (£32m) ballpark for the Tucson Padres. The team is scheduled to relocate to El Paso. Authorities hope the baseball stadium will attract pedestrians and businesses to the area.

Wetzel Hall Implosion - July 14, 2012
Another view of the entire building collapse is available at https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151077871615552 MACOMB, IL -- Amidst cheers -- and some tears -- Wetzel Hall on the Western Illinois University campus is no more. At exactly 7 a.m. this morning (July 14), the 42-year-old residence hall was imploded. While the preparation for the demolition took months, the implosion brought the building down in well under 10 seconds. Text-2-Plunge contest winner William Schmidt, a senior biology major from Mokena (IL), pushed the "ceremonial plunger" to implode the building at the end of the countdown. And within seconds, the 13-story hall was nothing more than a cloud of dust and bits of concrete. Clean-up is expected to take approximately six weeks. Once the site it completely clear and leveled, work will begin to create a park on the grounds that once held Wetzel. A video and photos of the implosion can also be viewed at http://www.facebook.com/wiu.edu. Additional videos will be produced within the coming weeks featuring WIU alumni and staff who lived, and worked, in Wetzel, the preparation for the implosion and more. Read about why Wetzel Hall was demolished via Western Illinois University's Housing and Dining Services Master Plan at http://www.wiu.edu/student_services/housing/about/masterplan.php
