One Day in New York City: Travel Guide
If you are in New York City for under 24 hours, planning an itinerary that allows for the most out of your Big Apple trip can seem like a daunting task. With so much to do and so little time, you'll need to develop a solid travel plan. Fortunately, we've put together a comprehensive list of things you can do on one short day in the Concrete Jungle. However, making the most of a single day in New York City will require a few things: First, be ready for an action-filled day and wear good walking shoes as you'll likely be walking over 10 miles. You'll be venturing all over the island of Manhattan, and the best way to do that is via NYC's public transit network, which requires a MetroCard; you can purchase an unlimited day-pass at any MTA subway station. We'd also recommend you pick up a New York City street map—it just makes getting around a little easier. One of New York City's signature breakfasts is the bagel and New York City is filled with great bagels, though you'd be hard-pressed to find two New Yorkers who agree about which one is the best Essa bagel shop #1 in NYC

A weekend in New York (2017)
I thought Los Angeles was crazy, but I was soooo wrong. Also known as the city of piss n' shit (at least in my book), New York is a beast of it's own. With edgy pedestrians taking over the streets, traffic booming, and a businesses in every corner - New York really is the city that doesn't sleep. In my short trip, I got to see a lot of the important landmarks spread throughout the city, but also relax and add new experiences to my forever-long bucket list. I traveled completely alone to New York, but I met some amazing people along the way that really taught me how to have fun in a foreign environment. I highly recommend that you visit New York at some point in your life, just make sure to take enough money since it can be pricey if you don't plan well in advance. Check out my video which provides some ideas of where to visit on your trip. Here was my weekend itinerary: New York Weekend Itinerary: SATURDAY - Wall Street - 9/11 Tribute - Charging Bull - Staten Island Ferry (Free) - The Dead Rabbit (best bar in the world 2015 & 2016) - Washington Square Park - Flatiron Building - Minus5 Ice Bar - Times Square SUNDAY - Brooklyn Bridge - Shelsky's of Brooklyn (Bagel) - Dumbo - Brooklyn Flea Market - Williamsburg (Bedford Ave.) - Brooklyn Brewery ($5 per beer token) -The Mermaid Inn Oysters (Happy Hour 4-7pm) - Museum of Sex ($21) - The Stonewall Inn Music: http://www.purple-planet.com

How To Spend Your Birthday in New York City | New York Diaries
First Vlog EVERRR!! Hey guys, I wanted to share my take on how to spend Bday in the City! We had a 3 step plan: 1. Brunch at a nice restaurant. 2. Empire State Building Observatory. AND 3. A Broadway show. Of course, you would adjust the list depending on whether you live here or not, your company, what sights you have already seen, and such. However, it seemed perfect for my mom's Bday since she was visiting from Russia. Take a look how we did and let me know what you think in comments! Also, hit the SUBSCRIBE button and stay in touch! 50 THINGS TO DO IN NEW YORK CITY | Top Attractions Travel Guide
Our recent week in New York City was an action-packed one. We decided to set ourselves a challenge to see and do as much as we possibly could, and that gave way to this travel video guide which highlights 50 of the top attractions. In a city like New York this means we barely scratched the surface, but hopefully this video will highlight the cornucopia of possibilities that is the Big Apple. The Meatpacking District was once home to markets, slaughterhouses, and packaging plants, but times have changed. Today you'll find a mixture of trendy restaurants, clubs and boutiques. The Village used to be a bohemian neighborhood that drew artists and musicians, but today you're more likely to find upper middle class families living here. Completed in 1883, Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Williamsburg has become popular given its lower rent prices. University students and young professionals have been flocking to this part of town. You can walk along the riverfront for a great view of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and the Manhattan skyline. During the summer months, Bryant Park also becomes a popular hangout spot people looking to relax and even work on their tans. The Staten Island Ferry is free of charge and this makes it really popular with visitors who want to catch a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty from a distance. Battery Park is located on the southern tip of Manhattan. Having both lived in South Korea, we were thrilled to come across Manhattan's own Little Korea. Coney Island is all about good old fashioned fun. The Cloisters will make you feel like you've travelled over to Europe. Central Park is massive and there are so many places to visit within its boundaries. We managed to visit Belvedere Castle, the Great Lawn, Shakespeare Garden, The Ramble, The Jackie Onassis Reservoir, the Alice in Wonderland Statue, and we still left feeling like we barely scratched the surface. And that concludes a look at our very busy week in New York City. I'm still shocked we managed to cover so many attractions, but the great thing about this city is that distances aren't very long and there's always something really cool worth checking out around each corner. Have you been to New York? What are your favorite things about this city? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below. These tips will help you enjoy more of what to see and do and enjoy in New York! filmed on Ellis Island Copyright Mark Wolters 2016 Tip #1. Walking is a way of life in New York, so don't stop in the middle of the sidewalk. You will get run over. Step to the side to take your pictures of the Empire State Building or Times Square. Tip #2. Be Ready! Whether it is to pay the check or pay for a drink or get on the subway be ready to pay as things move quickly in New York and the locals will get annoyed at you for wasting their time. Tip #3. Have Cash... oddly enough there are still a lot of places in New York (comparatively) that still only take cash. ATMs are everywhere and they charge a lot for withdrawals. Tip #4. You can enjoy New York without busting your budget. With museums that have suggested prices where you can pay what ever you want, to free nights at museums and free sights you can see New York and still have some money left over, though the hotels are insane expensive no matter what. New York public toilets are nasty so make sure you use the toilet before you leave the hotel. 10 Things That Will SHOCK You About the Southern USA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szbyA3Bic_w How Not to Be a Bad Tourist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KebJkfLoEfA How Pickpockets Work https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8JFxbevCQc USA Today & 10Best's #1 Independent Travel Videographer 2014 FlipKey by TripAdvisor Top 10 Travel Bloggers 2014 Our Equipment Sony Alpha a6000 Digital Camera. New York City - Video Tour of the East Village (Manhattan, NY)
Video host David Hill of New York Habitat ( http://www.nyhabitat.com ) takes you through the trendy East Village in New York City. This neighborhood is made for those who relish in diversity. Students and artists who attend New York University populate this area and you can experience an energetic atmosphere while visiting. You can find time to relax with a drink or two at McSorley's Ale House, the oldest bar in Manhattan or enjoy making your way through St. Marks Place. This three-block street is filled with history, stores, bars and restaurants. Plan your accommodation by searching New York Habitat's listed vacation rentals in New York ( http://www.nyhabitat.com/new-york-apartment/vacation ) and Bed & Breakfasts ( http://www.nyhabitat.com/new-york-apartment/bed-breakfast ). Check out what New York apartment rentals are currently available ( http://www.nyhabitat.com/new-york-apartment.html ) and let us help you plan your stay. The streets aren't made of gold -- they are made of food in the East Village. Get a taste of what the East Village has to offer, and I mean that literally. New York Food Tours let you experience great tasting cuisine as you walk through the area. Take a look at this studio accommodation in the East Village (NY -- 4062): http://www.nyhabitat.com/new-york-apartment/vacation/4062 and see where you can rest after eating all that food. Tompkins Square Park located in the Alphabet City area of East Village (East 10th street and Avenue B) provides 10.5 acres of recreational space for socialites. There you can see the first Dog Run that was created in New York City as well as the Hare Krishna Tree. Another park found in the East Village is the East River Park. Running along the Franklin D. Roosevelt Drive and measuring at 57 acres (Montgomery Street to East 12th Street), you have all the space you need for what it is you like to do. Here is a 1 bedroom vacation rental in the East Village (NY - 15265): http://www.nyhabitat.com/new-york-apartment/vacation/15265 So what else is there to see in the East Village? Find a 15-foot steel cube created by Bernard Rosenthal called "The Alamo", located at Astor Place - give it a push to make it revolve. You can also visit the second oldest church in Manhattan, Saint Mark's in-the-Bowery, located at 131 East 10th Street. Learn more about other great New York City neighborhoods like Greenwich Village ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFa9ppu8fEY ) and Chinatown ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFOrThNwCh4 ). If you plan to extend your stay look through our available furnished apartments ( http://www.nyhabitat.com/new-york-apartment/furnished ). There is a lot more to discover in the East Village. To find out what other attractions are in the East Village take a look at our blog: http://www.nyhabitat.com/blog/2010/03/16/east-village-video-tour/

Driving Downtown - NYC's Park Avenue 4K - USA
Top 10 Favorite Travel Channels on Youtube (1 of 10): Longtime fan and highly recommend Ricks many years of travel videos! - Rick Steves - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCchgIh8Tc4sTmBfnMQ5pDdg Driving Downtown Streets - Park Avenue - New York City New York USA - Episode 1. Starting Point: Park Avenue - https://goo.gl/maps/56FKLZWstj12 . Park Avenue is a wide New York City boulevard[4] which carries north and southbound traffic in the borough of Manhattan, and is also a wide one-way pair in the Bronx. For most of the road's length in Manhattan, it runs parallel to Madison Avenue to the west and Lexington Avenue to the east. Park Avenue's entire length was formerly called Fourth Avenue; the title still applies below 14th Street.[5] Meanwhile, the section between 14th and 17th Street is called Union Square East, and between 17th and 32nd Streets, the name Park Avenue South is used. In the Bronx, Park Avenue runs in several segments between the Major Deegan Expressway and Fordham Road.[6] Route The road that becomes Park Avenue originates as the Bowery. From Cooper Square at 8th Street to Union Square at 14th Street, it is known as Fourth Avenue, a 70-foot-wide (21 m) road carrying northbound traffic. At 14th Street, it turns slightly northeast to align with other avenues drawn up in the Commissioners' Plan of 1811. From 14th Street to 17th Street, it forms the eastern boundary of Union Square and is known as Union Square East; its southbound lanes merge with Broadway south of 15th Street, and the thoroughfare divides into two distinct portions in the one-block section between 14th and 15th Streets. From 17th Street to 32nd Street, it is known as Park Avenue South. Above 32nd Street, for the remainder of its distance, it is known as Park Avenue, a 140-foot-wide boulevard. In popular culture Will Smith, as a policeman, pursues a criminal by jumping off the Park Avenue Viaduct in the 1997 film Men in Black. In the 2007 film I Am Legend, Will Smith again appears on the Park Avenue Viaduct, where his character is captured by a vampire's snare. In the 2012 film The Avengers, the climax takes place on the Park Avenue Viaduct. On the TV series The Odd Couple, Felix Unger and Oscar Madison live at 1049 Park Avenue. On the TV series Diff'rent Strokes, Phillip Drummond, with his daughter, Kimberly and adopted sons, Willis and Arnold Jackson live at 697 Park Avenue. The PBS documentary Park Avenue: Money, Power and the American Dream sheds light on gap between the impoverished people living on Park Avenue in the South Bronx and the extremely wealthy living at 740 Park Avenue in Manhattan. In the song "Youth Gone Wild" by American band Skid Row, Park Avenue is mentioned in the lyrics: "I said 'Hey man, there's something that you oughta know. / I tell ya Park Avenue leads to Skid Row.'" The stage and film musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying takes place in the fictional "Park Avenue office building of World Wide Wicket Company, Inc." The street lent its name to the Buick Park Avenue, a large luxury sedan that was produced from 1977 to 2005.[citation needed] In the intro to the late 1960s - early 1970s TV show Green Acres, Zsa Zsa Gabor's character sings "Darling I love but give me Park Avenue!", where she lived before moving to rural Hooterville with her husband, the lawyer-turned-farmer.[18] The City of New York, often called New York City or simply New York, is the most populous city in the United States.[9] Located at the southern tip of the State of New York, the city is the center of the New York metropolitan area, one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world.[10][11] A global power city,[12] New York City exerts a significant impact upon commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment, its fast pace[13] defining the term New York minute.[14] Home to the headquarters of the United Nations,[15] New York is an important center for international diplomacy[16] and has been described as the cultural and financial capital of the world. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Park_Avenue https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g60763-Activities-New_York_City_New_York.html http://www.nycgo.com/ http://www.businessinsider.com/view-from-top-of-432-park-avenue-2014-10
