Vitamin C has many good effects on the body. But as any other thing, excess of it has many side effects on health. Vitamin C is vital in protein metabolism and the synthesis of collagen, a protein that holds our body together. Found aplenty in citrus fruits, around 90 mg of vitamin C per day is recommended for males and slightly less in females. It is tolerated by the body to a large extent. How much vitamin C is too much? One thing to remember is that if you have been taking the right forms of vitamin C, there has been no one who has come down with vitamin C toxicity, no adverse health claim has been accepted by all natural and allopathic health professionals, no child has been hospitalized because of vitamin C overdose, like other forms of synthetic drugs. ==================================== Support Us On Patreon: http://bit.ly/2wFag54 ==================================== The fact is we have to look at what time of vitamin C we are talking about. We can’t just generalize all vitamin C in one group and say well taking too much vitamin C is not good for you. Are we talking about synthetic forms of vitamin c, are we talking about fruit based vitamin C, like acerola, kiwi and oranges, are we talking about vitamin c supplementations that come with other additives and preservatives? In today’s over-toxify world, with its pesticides, aluminum , GMOs, plastics and the rest of it taking high doses of a powerful anti-oxidant like vitamin C on a daily bases not only is NOT harmful but is absolutely essential. We can group vitamin c into 3 different categories. I will go over them and leave the links in the description for you guys to check out. ==== 1. Oral Vitamin C in Pure Powder ===== Sodium Ascorbate: http://amzn.to/1U5wTsJ Ascorbic Acid: http://amzn.to/1pA5d2E Almost all of vitamin C supplements will have about 20% absorption at best. There are two forms of vitamin C that have been extensively researched and have enough clinical evidence to prove that they absolutely safe with no harmful side effects when taken in oral forms. And these are Asocrbic acid and Sodium ascorbate, which I recommend.... and you will have no health problems with them. You see, vitamin c in general is a water soluble supplement that means your guts can only retain a certain amount at a given time. If you take too much of it at one time it will just pass through your guts as loose stool which is medically called “vitamin C flush”. Everyone has a different vitamin C flush. Someone may hit flush at 5 Hitting vitamin C flush is not a bad thing, actually Dr. Thomas Levy (one of the world’s leading Vitamin C researcher) says that is not necessary a bad thing, it’s actually a good thing. He recommends people hit vitamin C flush a couple of times a week to clean out their guts. Basically you want to take either Ascorbic Acid or Sodium Ascorbate in pure powder form with no additives, colors or sweeteners. Just look at the back of the product and make sure that it’s just  that. The products I use are usually from Now foods, which I found to be relatively of quality. I personally recommend Sodium asocrobate over Ascorbic Asci, simply because it an alkaline form of vitamin C, and it lasts in the blood stream about 3 times longer. Start with a couple of grams in water or a juice and build up after a few hours or day by day until you hid vitamin C flush. Don’t worry nothing will happen, you will just a get a semi-loose to loose stool or bowel movement. After you find out what flush amount simply cut back a gram or 2 and keep having your mega doses of vitamin c everyday and your body will thank you for it and you will be happier and healthier. ==== IV vitamin C ==== This is great form of vitamin C for anyone who is suffering from a chronic condition including cancer patients, heart patients, people with diabetes etc. For this form of vitamin C, the recommendation is to go see a naturopath or a medical personal who is certified to administer IV. ==== Liposomal Vitamin C === http://amzn.to/1Uj4GgS By far the best form of vitamin C is Liposomal encapsulated Vitamin C. Start with a couple of grams in water or a juice and build up after a few hours or day by day until you hid vitamin C flush. Don’t worry nothing will happen, you will just a get a semi-loose to loose stool or bowel movement. I'm just going to briefly summarize the things I think are worth knowing about vitamin C. Everything I'm going to say is evidence based with research to back it up. It is well known as a vitamin supplement taken to prevent the common cold. I looked up the data for this. A 2013 meta-analysis of 29 trials (n = 11,306) showed a small but significant 8 percent reduction in the duration of cold symptoms in adults regularly taking vitamin C supplements (at least 200 mg/day). In the general population it does not reduce the risk of developing a cold or getting sick. It does appear to have a protective effect in highly active individuals. In other words, the evidence is not strong that vitamin C is dramatically helpful in preventing or treating the common cold in most people. Clinical trials found that it is safe to regularly infuse brain and lung cancer patients with 800 -- 1000 times the daily recommended amount of vitamin C as a potential strategy to improve outcomes of standard cancer treatments. In a work presented March 30, 2017 in Cancer Cell, University of Iowa researchers also show pathways by which altered iron metabolism in cancer cells, and not normal cells, lead to increased sensitivity to cancer cell death caused by high dose vitamin C. "This paper reveals a metabolic frailty in cancer cells that is based on their own production of oxidizing agents that allows us to utilize existing redox active compounds, like vitamin C, to sensitize cancer cells to radiation and chemotherapy," says co-author Garry Buettner, who was one of the first to propose that cancer cells might have a vulnerability to redox active compounds over 40 years ago. Buettner, along with study senior authors Bryan Allen and Douglas Spitz, are faculty members at the University of Iowa's Department of Radiation Oncology, Free Radical and Radiation Biology Program, in the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center. The 11 evaluable patients enrolled in the brain cancer safety trial received three infusions of vitamin C a week for 2 months followed by two infusions per week for 7 months while receiving standard care radiation and chemotherapy. The goal of each infusion was to raise the concentration of vitamin C in a patient's blood to 20,000 μM, as compared to a blood level of about 70 μM found in most adults. The high dose is necessary because vitamin C has a half-life of about two hours in the circulation of humans. The treatment was generally well tolerated; with modest side effects including frequent trips to the bathroom and dry mouth. Rarely, some patients developed high blood pressure that subsided quickly following infusion. Why is this approach safe? Vitamin C, even at high levels, isn't toxic to normal cells. The research group at Iowa found, however, that tumor tissue's abnormally high levels of redox active iron molecules (a by-product of abnormal mitochondrial metabolism) react with vitamin C to form hydrogen peroxide and free radicals derived from hydrogen peroxide. These free radicals are believed to cause DNA damage selectively in cancer cells (versus normal cells) leading to enhanced cancer cell death as well as sensitization to radiation and chemotherapy in cancer cells. "This is a significant example of how knowing details of potential mechanisms and the basic science of redox active compounds in cancer versus normal cells can be leveraged clinically in cancer therapy," says co-senior author Douglas Spitz, who focused on the biochemical studies. "Here, we verified convincingly that increased redox active metal ions in cancer cells were responsible for this differential sensitivity of cancer versus normal cells to very high doses of vitamin C." The safety study sets the stage for phase II clinical trials looking at whether high dose vitamin C is effective at extending overall lifespan and quality of life for patients undergoing radiation and chemotherapy. The researchers are currently enrolling patients with stage 4 lung cancer and will soon begin enrolling people with glioblastoma multiforme (brain cancer) in these phase II trials. They are hopeful that brain cancer responses to radiation and chemotherapy can be enhanced in these phase II trials. This guarded optimism is based on the phase I trial data showing an increase in overall survival of 4-6 months in 11 glioblastoma multiforme patients (18-22 months) versus the 14-16 months survival typically seen with the standard treatment. "The majority of cancer patients we work with are excited to participate in clinical trials that could benefit future patient outcomes down the line," says co-senior author Bryan Allen, who led the clinical side of the study. "Results look promising but we're not going to know if this approach really improves therapy response until we complete these phase II trials." The cost per patient above standard insurance billing for the phase II vitamin C glioblastoma multiforme protocol is approximately $8000 spread over 9 months of test infusions. This cost can be less than a single dose of some immunotherapy and/or chemotherapy drugs.

Vitamin C (also known as ascorbic acid) is a water-soluble vitamin. It also is known as a powerful antioxidant. The role is plays in our bodies is to aid in forming and maintaining connective tissue, including bones, blood vessels, and skin. There are other benefits of Vitamin C. A recent study at the University of Michigan over a 10 year period concluded that “Higher blood levels of vitamin C may be the ideal nutrition marker for overall health," Dr Mark Moyad who conducted the study went on to say, “The more we study vitamin C, the better our understanding of how diverse it is in protecting our health, from cardiovascular, cancer, stroke, eye health [and] immunity to living longer." As one with diabetes, 2 benefits really stood out for me in that study: cardiovascular and eye health. Those of us with diabetes are at greater risk of heart and eye diseases. The only “problem” with this study was that it used 500 mg of Vitamin C daily to achieve these results. The recommended daily allowance for Vitamin C is 75 mg per day. So unless you can really pack away the fruits and vegetables, you are going to have to take supplements to get those 500mg. But before you go out and buy those supplements, understand that other studies show that those with diabetes also run risks if they have too much Vitamin C in their diet. Dr. David R. Jacobs Jr., of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis stated that, "Our results, if confirmed by other research, would suggest that diabetics should be more cautious than others about taking supplements." His study looked at women over a 15 year period who were post menopausal. The results he is talking about is that those with diabetes who took heavy doses of vitamin C supplements — 300 milligrams (mg) a day or more — were roughly twice as likely to die of heart disease or stroke compared with women who took no supplemental C. So, is Vitamin C good for those with diabetes? It is a good idea to visit your health care provider and be tested for Vitamin C levels before you make that decision. Understand that the studies I have mentioned, while finding seemingly opposite results, both carefully monitored Vitamin C levels in those under the study. Vitamin C is good for diabetes. Please do not leave this product on your hair for more than an hour (actually, I'd go so far to say to not leave it on for more than 45 minutes). I've noticed over the few times that I've used this method to lighten my hair that it works best with removing dyed hair and will only lift your natural hair by maybe half a level. I've also noticed that after the 45 minute mark that the Vitamin C no longer lifts/lightens your hair color. Do understand that Vitamin C can make your hair feel straw-like if you leave it on for too long, as well as make you feel sick, and even burn your scalp. Always err on the side of caution!!! If your scalp is burning at all during this process, WASH IT OUT. Thank you, all, for your love and support. Vitamin C and Shampoo Recipe Ingredients: 50-60 pills of 1000mg Vitamin C, mashed into powder. 9ish Tablespoons of clear shampoo (I used Prell but it's probably best to use a shampoo without dyes in it) Mixing bowl A spray bottle, filled with water A plastic cap, or bag Instructions: Mix vitamin C and shampoo If you feel the mixture is too thick, add another tablespoon of shampoo. Apply to damp hair. If mixture isn't spreading easily and/or you've run out of mixture, spray more water onto hair and continue to lather in. Once hair is saturated with the mixture, cover with a plastic cap (or bag) and leave for 30-60 minutes. Rinse out, wash with shampoo, and deep condition as this will make your hair dry.
