7 Habits of Highly Effective People - Self Improvement by Stephen Covey

14:09
Get this book: http://amzn.to/2jgxuwM The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, written by Stephen Covey, is a great book on self development and personal improvement. In this video, you will get a complete understanding of all the habits, including examples for each step. Some people have a problem understanding what Synergy is, so we define it along with give a couple examples. Another great tip in this video is the explanations of all types of relationships and the 5 forms of listening. This video is a summary of the book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People in animated book review format. 1) Be Proactive: Take responsibility and know you’re in charge 2) Start with the end in mind: Have an end goal 3) Put first things first: Do important and non-urgent things first 4) Think Win-Win: Find situations where everyone wins 5) Seek first to understand, then to be understood: Listen before you start talking 6) Synergize: 1 + 1 = 3 7)Sharpen the saw: Invest in yourself for the best ROI My favorite habit is to be proactive. For example, you may have been born into a socioeconomic lower-or-middle-class family, you may have been born into an abusive family, you may have been diagnosed with a terrible illness, but focusing on it will not change it. You know what you can control? This is the secret to being proactive, and in turn, becoming an effective person. You can control your work ethic. You can control how you treat people in your life. You can control if you put your seatbelt on or not. Architecture Short Course: How to Develop a Design Concept

19:24
All architecture begins with a concept. If you’re struggling to find one, curious about what one is, or wondering how architects begin their projects; this short course will walk you through the process I use and some of the techniques I rely on to develop architectural concepts all illustrated with one of my residential projects. Design is a dialogue, and the concept ensures you have something to talk about. In this video I discuss the precise steps I take when beginning each project and how those steps lead me to an architectural concept. Before we can develop the concept, we have to first understand the practical constraints. My design process begins only after gathering and assessing all the given parameters for a project. Now, this primarily consists of three types of information. There’s information derived from the site - things like: local climate, the prevailing winds, the solar aspect, vegetation, neighboring structures, the site’s history, and any unique liabilities or opportunities. The site of course also comes along with legal frameworks for development, which describe where and what we can and can’t build. The second type of information we’ll gather is from the client. Every client has a set of cultural beliefs and preconceptions, preferences and agendas. Of course, we’ll want to determine their budget, and understand the personality traits and organizational politics which might also shape the design. The client and the building type together determine what architects call, “the program” which is essentially a detailed accounting of all the spaces the building will contain. And the third type of information I gather is related to the building typology – is it a museum, a home…or a school for example? To learn about a building typology we often conduct an analysis of notable or relevant historical precedents. We want to know the essential problems these types of structures grapple with. Understanding the history of the archetype allows us to approach a problem from a fresh perspective. All of this is necessary information that we collect for every project. This inventory can also serve as the progenitor for the design concept – our seed idea. And, rather than shunting creativity, these constraints often incite the creative process. Concept Inspirations Discussed: - Site - Client - Narrative - Materials - Structural - Mainifestos - Formal As with a good film, the setting, the characters, the cinematography, and the plot all conspire to make it what it is. It’s the experience you’ll recall rather than the concept per se. Sure, the concept sets the film in motion and it’s the starting point for all that follows. But this concept – the one or two-line description – can’t possible capture the richness and depth of the finished film…or in our case the architecture. Yet without it, the work is unfulfilling and so it should be clear that the concept is necessary for all our work as architects. // GEAR I USE // DSLR CAMERA: * Canon 70D: http://amzn.to/29klz7k LENSES: * Canon 24mm f2.8 Lens: http://amzn.to/29l7ac5 * Canon 40mm f2.8 Lens: http://amzn.to/29x2QcI AUDIO: * Rode VideoMic Pro (hotshoe mtd.): http://amzn.to/29qlNM3 * ATR-2100 USB (dynamic mic): http://amzn.to/2dFDaKp ARCHITECTURE GEAR: * Prismacolor Markers: http://thirtybyforty.com/markers * Timelapse Camera: http://thirtybyforty.com/brinno * AutoCAD LT: http://amzn.to/2dxjMDH * SketchUp PRO: http://amzn.to/2cRcojz * HP T120 Plotter: http://amzn.to/2dBGf1O * Adobe CC Photography (Photoshop/Lightroom) Plan: http://amzn.to/2dhq5ap STARTUP TOOLKIT: * Architect + Entrepreneur Startup Toolkit: http://thirtybyforty.com/SPL -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "100K (Silver Play Button) + A Thank You" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tkK5qls78E -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

Developing your master plan

More Trading Tips for Stock Traders at: http://www.TradingTips.com "You plan to fail when you fail to plan." Truer words have never been spoken, or written -- and they're especially true when it comes to stock trading. Look, I bet you think that having a written trading plan is good in theory, but not really necessary, right? WRONG. Even if you think you have a plan in your head, it's not enough -- and this episode will tell you why. That, and a whole lot more. In this episode, you will learn: - Why it's so important to have a plan -- and how to write your own. - The five steps that go along with writing and then implementing your plan -- all spelled out and made simple. - What kind of prep work you need to do before you even develop your plan, and why. - What you need to do to stay on track with your plan -- on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. You absolutely can make money as a career stock trader -- literally almost anyone can. The only real question is, Do you want to? And secondarily, How badly do you want it? Not bad enough to make a written plan? Okay, then you don't have what it takes. But if you're willing to make a small investment of time in your success, you CAN do it. Having a written plan promotes accountability and ensures consistency. It is what virtually all successful traders do. Maybe you don't need a written plan to be a success -- there are savants who can succeed no matter what -- but having a plan virtually guarantees long-term prosperity. If your plan doesn't work, you'll know, and you'll be able to adjust your personalized plan until it does work. From there, it's cake! Happy Trading!

It's not surprising, given the casual approach our society takes to finding and building long-term relationships. In case you haven't figured it out yet, chance is not on your side when seeking a mate or discerning how to make that relationship a healthy one. So what should you be learning to better navigate these treacherous waters? Some basic realities of human relationships is a fine place to start. These truths work on the playground as well in the bedroom. Give up any misguided notions you may harbor in these areas: you can't control another person, period -- in any way. The only person you can control is you. The best thing for you to change is your attitude. Then some hints for building better intimate relationships: don't operate from sexual scarcity. Get your financial life in order. Get as healthy and fit as you can be. Work on fixing you -- if you're always the one left behind, figure out why and work on that. These are hard truths, that many people will discount, as they travel the road from disastrous relationship to disastrous relationship. Ignore them at your peril.

A master plan for L&D in 2020: humanising your learning - LTSF2016

27:18
A master plan for L&D in 2020: humanising your learning Like it or not, the blueprint for an organisation's L&D approach is being forced to change, because our learners expect more. Multi-device learning. Social learning and open learning platforms; trends come and go, but humans remain inherently the same. And the challenges that we face in L&D remain the same as they always have: how do we motivate people to want to learn and how do we make our learning engaging and immersive? Join Dr. Richard Hyde, CEO at Mind Click, and Gary Spring, Head of Design at Barclays UK Academy, as they discuss how a humanised, user-centred L&D approach, focused on learners' needs, can deliver long term results for your organisation and prepare you for 2020 and beyond. Gary and Richard will explore: - How to capture hearts and minds of learners through deeper digital learning - Leveraging the human givens in your learning strategy, by tapping into what makes us tick - The future of L&D strategy - using modern technology to move mountains. Gary Spring, Head of Design, Barclays UK Academy Gary specialises in user-centred approaches to the delivery of learning, believing we often look at training from the wrong end of the telescope. His approach in L&D is focused around investing less time in the construct of content and more time understanding the experience of the learner; driving better outcomes for learners and Barclays. This approach, he believes, is a clear way to allow L&D departments to truly differentiate themselves as experts of their craft. Dr Richard Hyde, CEO, Mind Click Richard Hyde is CEO of Mind Click and over the past two decades has been involved in every conceivable aspect of e-learning creation. The e-learning he loves the most has elegant simplicity – in learning approach, creative design and technical production. Richard has worked with most major organisations and helped them revitalize their learning and their internal teams improve their own creative development skills. He is also a regular contributor and supporter of the Elearning Network.

Mixed Use Master Plan Development 3D CGI Tower Flythrough

06:22
Do you have the skill and capacity to create competition winning animations? The knowledge and skill needed to create an effective architectural animation is immense. By "effective animation" I mean visualizing exactly what needs to be seen, the way you want to see it. Comprehensive architectural knowledge and extensive CGI skills take years to acquire... ...and the final production should aim to achieve the desired result. Be that winning a design competition, gaining planning consent or selling off-plan. Can you achieve all the above in-house? If yes, then perhaps you may wish to save time and stop reading now. If you would like to know more, there are several key stages to producing an effective architectural animation. The first is an initial meeting to discuss the scope. This may sound blatantly obvious, but very few services go through with it in any detail. Assuming [incorrectly] that an email description of requirements will suffice. Your meeting should help all concerned understand the scope and end-objective in full. What is the duration and delivery deadline? What size of screen will it be played back on? To get a better feel for the project, you may wish to ask more in-depth questions that may include: • Does the story-board flow logically, scene by scene? • Is there anything unique that should be highlighted? • Does your design solve a specific “problem”? Asking these questions [and others] is one thing. Having the experience to visualize the answers effectively is another matter entirely. Click to watch some of the example productions on this page. They may not be to all tastes... ...but they were exactly what the clients wanted to see. More importantly, most were successful in achieving their objectives. “Very good news! Our client developers won the project. Congratulations to you and the team. The clients were extremely impressed with our design and the visualization was superb - we won the first phase of the competition”, Associate Principle, CallisonRTKL In terms of production capacity, there seems to be an assumption that animations should take less time to produce given recent improvements in internet speed (?) hardware and software. Strange but true. For example, a 2 minute HD quality animation would normally take up to 4 weeks to produce from start to finish. If you need it in half that time, then your production capacity needs to be a considerable size… …with many coordinated hands manning the pumps around-the-clock to achieve that critical deadline. “Lifang's CGI team are our number one visualization provider and have always delivered superior quality final visuals to our very tight deadlines. All this combined with a level of professionalism and flexibility I have seldom seen” Head of Visualization at DMU If you would like to learn more about the many other details required to produce a successful architectural animation... Send me an email now to learn more, sales@lifangcgi.co.uk I will answer right away. Project collaboration is very important too – you don’t want to waste time holding your service providers hand. You want to have them do the hard work for you right? That’s why we employ architecturally qualified project managers that cross-check all in progress drafts – leaving you to focus on your day-to-day requirements. "Thanks for being so incredibly easy to work with during this process, I really appreciate it!", Vice President, Film Creations, Ltd. Stuck for ideas? Lifang can create your animation storyboard for you, providing as many drafts as you need at the modelling, rendering and post-production stages. Use our unique services with confidence, safe in the knowledge that what you’ll receive as the final HD animation will be exactly what you want to see - before you agree to the final sign-off. Most bodyweight workout routines are nothing more than glorified aerobics that cost you lean muscle while doing them. This doesn’t have to be the case. If you choose the right exercises and follow the proper progressions and regressions, bodyweight training can be just as effective at building muscle as any other workout. The 8 bodyweight exercises that were chosen are as follows: 1. Pullups - The pullup is one of the best back exercises you can do, even if you have access to a gym. Should you want a challenging alternative, I show you how to mix up your grip and perform the Commando Pullup for an even more intense back exercise with the added benefit of working your forearms and biceps. 2. Chin Up Knee Up - This exercise hits the biceps and abs equally hard as it breaks down the chinup into two parts. If you’re looking to get more out of your bodyweight exercises you have to put more in them. This is a perfect combination movement that helps you to kill two muscles with one move. 3. Slick Floor Bridge Curls - This posterior chain exercise hammers your glutes and hamstrings and happens to be one of the most intense bodyweight leg exercises you can do for this area. In fact, this exercise is as challenging as most weighted glute/ham exercises you’d have at your disposal if you were training in a gym. 4. Levitation Squats - Time to hit your quads with this awesome lower body no equipment exercise. By positioning your leg behind your body you make it easier to perform this single leg killer without having your balance be your limiting factor (as it may be during the pistol squat). Be sure to keep your back foot raised off the ground to keep the work on the front leg only. 5. Divebomber Pushups - You knew there would have to be a pushup variation in this list of 8 best bodyweight exercises in order to hit your chest. That said, this dive-bomber version hits your chest, shoulders and triceps equally hard at different points in the range of motion. Add the one and a half rep style for an even more advanced challenge. 6. Mule Kicks - This is a perfect bodyweight conditioning exercise that also puts an overload on your shoulders. Think of it as a closed chain plyometric bodyweight shoulder exercise that crushes your stamina at the same time. Sound fun? 7. Kickthrough Burpees - On this channel, we train like athletes. There may be no more athletic version of the burpee than this one, and that is why I love it. This is yet another bodyweight only movement that will challenge your upper body, lower body and core while pelting away at your ability to breathe. 8. Front Lever - Finally, the challenging front lever exercise lands the last spot on the 8 best bodyweight exercise list. Don’t worry if you can’t do it yet, you will. Just work your way up to it using a resistance band if needed. Want to become a bodyweight workout beast? Then look no further than the number one muscle building bodyweight workout plan ATHLEAN XERO. Without using a single piece of equipment, start building ripped, athletic muscle in just 6 weeks. You can find the program at http://athleanx.com along with our other workout programs. What is INTEGRATED MASTER PLAN? What does INTEGRATED MASTER PLAN mean?

05:59
What is INTEGRATED MASTER PLAN? What does INTEGRATED MASTER PLAN mean? INTEGRATED MASTER PLAN meaning - INTEGRATED MASTER PLAN definition - INTEGRATED MASTER PLAN explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. In the United States Department of Defense, the Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) are important program management tools that provide significant assistance in the planning and scheduling of work efforts in large and complex materiel acquisitions. The IMP is event-driven plan documents the significant accomplishments necessary to complete the work and ties each accomplishment to a key program event. The IMP is expanded to a time-based IMS to produce a networked and multi-layered schedule showing all detailed tasks required to accomplish the work effort contained in the IMP. The IMS flows directly from the IMP and supplements it with additional levels of detail——both then form the foundations to implement an Earned Value Management System. The IMP is a bilateral agreement between the Government and a contractor on what defines the “event-driven” program. The IMP documents the key events, accomplishments, and the evaluation "criteria" in the development, production and/or modification of a military system; moreover, the IMS provides sequential events and key decision points (generally meetings) to assess program progress. Usually the IMP is a contractual document. Supporting the IMP is the IMS that is made up of "tasks" depicting the work effort needed to complete the "criteria". It is a detailed time-driven plan for program execution that helps to ensure on-time delivery dates are achieved, and that tracking and status tool are used during program execution. These tools must show progress, interrelationships and dependencies. In civic planning or urban planning, Integrated Master Plan is used at the levels of city development, county, and state or province to refer to a document integrating diverse aspects of a public works project. The primary purpose of the IMP—and the supporting detailed schedules of the IMS—is their use by the U.S. Government and Contractor acquisition team as the day-to-day tools for the planning, executing, and tracking program technical, schedule, and cost status, including risk mitigation efforts. The IMP provides a better structure than either the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) or Organizational Breakdown Structure (OBS) for measuring actual integrated master schedule (IMS) progress. The primary objective of the IMP is a single plan that establishes the program or project fundamentals. It provides a hierarchical, event-based plan that contains: Events; Significant accomplishments; Entry and exit criteria; however it does not include any dates or durations. Using the IMP provides sufficient definition for explain program process and completion tracking, as well as providing effective communication of the program/project content and the "What and How" of the program. The IMP is a collection of milestones (called "events") that form the process architecture of the program. This means the sequence of events must always result in a deliverable product or service. While delivering products or services is relatively straight forward in some instances (i.e., list the tasks to be done, arrange them in the proper sequence, and execute to this “plan”), in other cases, problems often arise: (i) the description of "complete" is often missing for intermediate activities; (ii) program partners, integration activities, and subcontractors all have unknown or possibly unknowable impacts on the program; and (iii) as products or services are delivered the maturity of the program changes (e.g., quality and functionality expectations, as well as other attributes)——this maturity provided by defining "complete" serves as an insurance policy against future problems encountered later in the program.

How To Train For Mass | Arnold Schwarzenegger's Blueprint Training Program

17:13
Learn some of Arnold Schwarzenegger's favorite classic bodybuilding exercises and preferred training techniques for building muscle. Get the knowledge you need to train for mass! ► Arnold Schwarzenegger's Blueprint to Mass: http://bbcom.me/2EqSJTB ► Arnold Schwarzenegger's Blueprint to Cut: http://bbcom.me/2EqDPg8 When it comes to bodybuilding, Arnold Schwarzenegger knows best. His plan for quality mass and extreme strength isn't complicated. In fact, it's steeped in the fundamentals and old-school exercises that should be at the heart of everyone's program. It's a surefire road to growth, but it's fraught with pain and struggle. If you want to learn bodybuilding from the world's best bodybuilder, you're in the right place. | Basics Are Best | "The biggest mistake being made in bodybuilding today is that people aren't covering basic exercises," says the Austrian Oak. And by basic, Arnold doesn't mean easy. Many contemporary fitness centers are full of people on machines, not in squat racks, and big-box gyms often lack even a single platform. Arnold disapproves: "Today, when I go in the gymnasium, I don't see any of the kids learning about the clean and press, or the snatch, or the upright row from the floor." Schwarzenegger's insistence on the essential lifts is not due to some grandfatherly desire to live in the past. It comes from decades of continued interest and expertise in the industry, and from the hard-earned knowledge that it doesn't take fancy machines or off-the-wall programming to become arguably the best bodybuilder in history. Get back to your bodybuilding roots and experience unbelievable growth. | Arnold Schwarzenegger's Training Tips | Chest: "There are three chest exercises that should always be done," Arnold says. "The bench press, the incline bench press at different angles, and the dumbbell flye." Back: "For back, I did chin-ups, bent-over barbell and dumbbell rows, and the T-bar row. Any kind of rowing movement will give you that thickness. Those are the exercises I relied on from the beginning of my career to the end." Arms: Arnold relied on the barbell curl to build thick biceps, but he also used incline dumbbell curls and concentration curls to isolate his biceps. "For triceps," Arnold says, "we did a lot of narrow [close-grip] bench press in the early days. And then triceps push downs and overhead triceps extensions later." Shoulders: Arnold's shoulders were built by barbell presses, behind-the-neck barbell presses, lateral raises, military presses, and dumbbell presses. "We always did presses behind the neck and a special dumbbell press which would stretch out the front delt at the bottom and fully flex it at the top. Now those are called Arnold presses." Legs "The squat is the most important exercise to create big thighs," says Arnold. "I did back squats, front squats, leg extensions, lunges, single-leg deadlifts, good morning exercises, and a lot of leg curls." Abs: "The regular training we did for abs was just leg raises, knee raises, crunches, and sit-ups. We all believed in doing 500 reps of Roman chair sit-ups." ► Arnold Schwarzenegger's Blueprint Training Program: http://bbcom.me/2yHIrMh #Bodybuilding #Arnold #Motivation #BodybuildingMotivation #ArnoldSchwarzenegger ============================================= | Recommended Mass-Building Supplements | ► Protein: http://bbcom.me/2yIG7EC ► Pre-Workouts: http://bbcom.me/2yIppoW ► Testosterone Support: http://bbcom.me/2yHEdUI ► Creatine: http://bbcom.me/2yHkBQE ► Post-Workout: http://bbcom.me/2yHke8I ============================================= | Bodybuilding.com | Sales & Specials ► http://bbcom.me/1pzVaL9 Fitness Articles ► http://bbcom.me/1pzVg5e #1 Online Supplement Store ► http://bbcom.me/1pzViu5 Free Fitness Plans ► http://bbcom.me/1pzVkCb ============================================= | Follow Us | YouTube ► http://bit.ly/1RSJFa4 Facebook ► http://on.fb.me/1lomhpr Instagram ► http://bit.ly/1LzBxab Twitter ► http://bit.ly/1RSJQlL Google+ ► http://bit.ly/1NRe8qu Pinterest ► http://bit.ly/1OOZgY4 Spotify ► http://spoti.fi/1NRebm0 We are Bodybuilding.com. Designing a Campus Master Plan

02:05
Contact Brandt: http://www.brandt-companies.com/contact The problem facing a lot of building owners today is getting the most for your money. With all the advances in technology and tight budgets, it's important to have a solid plan in place. Here is Brandt's advice for coming up with a master plan: 1. Take into account not only your budget, but your short, medium, and long-term goals for your facility. 2. You need a plan that's collaborative, effective, and flexible enough to adapt to changes in trends and technology. 3. Rather than taking a reactive approach and fix things that are broken, come up with a plan that will help you maintain your facility, focusing on what's important overall, not just what needs to be done right now. If you've been tasked with coming up with an overall plan for your building or campus, partnering with a company like Brandt will help you create a realistic master plan that fits your specific situation. Self-Discipline | Why It’s Important & How to Master Self-Control

09:26
Self-discipline and willpower are two of the biggest secrets to success. Improving, cultivating, and growing your self-control and self-discipline will serve you well in both your personal and professional life. Discipline is important because it allows us to live our lives the way we want. As a student, discipline allows you to study more effectively and use your time efficiently. Willpower and self-control allow you to eat healthier, exercise regularly, and be happier. This translates to stronger grades in school, more energy, improved moods, and looking and feeling better. Best Dark Chocolate Ever: http://geni.us/yTdrYXN The Ego-Depletion model of self-control states that our willpower reserves are finite and limited. Therefore, it is imperative you harness your discipline wisely. Three steps to cultivating self-discipline: 1. Start Small 2. Practice Daily 3. Ramp it Up Other Tips: 1. Make it easier for your future self 2. Build the appropriate reward and consequence systems 3. "Doing What You Love" is some of the most misunderstood and misguided advice. Instead grow to love the process. **Let us know how you plan to improve your discipline in the comments below!** Check out the accompanying article: http://medschoolinsiders.com/pre-med/self-discipline-master-self-control/ Music: https://soundcloud.com/lakeyinspired/lakey-inspired-signal ≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈ WEBSITE: https://medschoolinsiders.com TWITTER: https://twitter.com/MedInsiders FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/medschoolinsiders INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/medschoolinsiders

10 Tips to Improve Your Reading Comprehension

12:46
10 Tips to Improve Your Reading Comprehension 1. "Never read a book without a pen in your hand." ~ Benjamin Franklin - That's great advice whether you write in your books or take notes in a notebook. Personally, I write, scribble, highlight, argue and draw symbols in all my books. 2. Read a whole paragraph / section BEFORE you stop to highlight or take a note. Don't stop right when you see something interesting; keep reading to get the "big picture" or context of what stood out to you. Then "reread" when you make your notes. 3. Read important sections out loud. A person reads much slower when you read out loud than when you read silently, but studies show that if you read out loud, you tend to retain things better because you're engaging multiple senses (hearing and seeing). 4. Read silently with quick "check-marks." There are times when you should read silently and simply use a pencil to "check" sections in the margins you want to go back and reread later. This will help you get through a book quicker without being distracted by stopping to highlight or write. 5. Explain what you read. When you finish a chapter / section of a book, take a break and "think" about what you've read and, in your mind, "explain it" to someone. See if you can structure your thoughts so as to be able to repeat back to someone what you've read. This is a great exercise. I do this A LOT when I read - and actually "talk through it" out loud to myself walking around my office or in the car. 6. Learn to "X-ray" a book by reviewing the Table of Contents and only reading the sections / chapters that will be benefit you. And don't feel like you have to read an entire book. 7. Pay attention to summary words - "therefore" or "as a result" or "in conclusion." When you see a summary / conclusion word, make sure you understand the author's points and argument that has led to his conclusion. 8. Circle / Underline key words in a sentence. 9. Mark words you don't know - and look them up! If you have a Kindle this is much easier. Looking up words you don't know increases your understanding of the author's intent, but it also increases your vocabulary! 10. You should read How to Read a Book by Mortimer Adler and Charles Van Doren. This is a "must read" book! You can get a great price on it at Amazon or WTSBooks.com.
