SUBSCRIBE: https://www.youtube.com/user/DrJohnKiel FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/medicinelifestyle TWITTER: https://twitter.com/LifestyleMedYou The study I am going to reference is a meta-analysis of 29 different studies including 11,306 individuals that was published in 2013. A meta analysis looks at all the studies on a given subject and attempts to draw conclusions from them by combining all the data and looking for trends. It is the gold standard for aggregating data and drawing conclusions about study hypotheses. The link to that study is available below. Question #1: Does vitamin C prevent the common cold? In short, no. The study showed that regular supplementation with vitamin C did not significantly reduce the incidence of colds. However, there was a 50 percent decrease in the incidence of colds in a subset of patients exposed to vigorous activity, especially in extreme conditions (marathon runners, skiers, and soldiers in sub-arctic exercises). The reasons for the apparent benefit in this subset of patients are uncertain. Question #2: Does vitamin C treat the common cold? Vitamin C is often touted as a natural remedy for the common cold. The study showed a small but statistically significant 8 percent reduction in the duration of cold symptoms in adults regularly taking vitamin C supplements (at least 200 mg/day). The clinical relevance of this 8% is not known. The meta-analysis also showed that vitamin C given therapeutically after symptom onset did not reduce symptom duration or severity. Vitamin C, also known as ascorbate, ascorbic acid, dehydroascorbic acid. It is a well known antioxidant. It has been associated with the common cold (acute coryza, adenovirus), head cold, nasopharyngitis, rhinopharyngitis, rhinovirus, scurvy, URI or upper respiratory infection. It is used by bodybuilders and weight lifters as a recovery supplement, it may help boost the immune system, helps with collagen synthesis, muscle building.

Amount Of Vitamin C Needed To Fight Colds Revealed
We’ve all heard that vitamin C wards off colds, or can at least shorten their duration. Now, science has tackled those claims, and came up with a conclusion: Vitamin C is effective at treating colds—but only if you take a substantial amount, researchers from Finland reported. After crunching the numbers from previous studies, the researchers concluded that people taking 8 grams \ of the vitamin a day shortened their colds by 19 percent, compared to a placebo group. Those taking 4 g per day shortened their colds by about half that amount. http://www.menshealth.com/health/vitamin-c-and-cold-duration http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

MMS ~ CDS ~ Vitamin C And Baking Soda, Alkalinize For Cold And Flu ~~~Nancy
Some thoughts on using CDS and -- replacing the Citric Acid with Hydrochloric acid for my MMS (Miracle Mineral Solution). In spite of using colloidal silver - a cold crept in! How do you like that! Used 5 drops of MMS and repeated that in 20-25 minutes. I began using 1 drop of MMS - it bothered my stomach when I jumped to 5 drops fast: so I found I had to build up in dose. Today I can take 5 drops without a problem. Both baking soda and Vitamin C will 'de-activate' MMS - so I take it 20 minutes after using MMS. If I want to use baking soda to alkalinize my system - or if I want Vitamin C to help the healing process - I just space it 20 - 25 minutes away from MMS or CDS. CDS is activate MMS - I've used it too, and I like it! After I went to sleep my nose ran free - less congestion! It works for me! Cold Gone In One Half Hour Hydrogen Peroxide In My Nose Congestion Sneezing HltT 3a51
Followed some advice and put hydrogen peroxide in each ear, cold had begun and I couldn't stop sneezing, congestion in my nose. Head cold. Used hydrogen peroxide in my nostrils too. Cold was gone. Felt fine and was able to resume my life. Head cold was made better in a short time with hydrogen peroxide. It worked for me. My experience! ~~~Nancy Gurish www.yourhealthandtechfriend.org I tried other supplements. A very good vitamin C 5,000 IU taken each hour. I had black seed oil. I had a 'very small' amount of a very good liquid zinc. None of this was putting a dent in this cold. The hydrogen peroxide did cut the congestion after the first application in my nose. I also put drops into my ears. Putting it into my nose is what stopped the congestion in 1/2 hour. I repeated it 3 times - 10-15 minutes apart! I used Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide but 3% is also good! If it is food grade, it needs to be diluted!!! I had 6 drops in an 8 oz glass of water. How to Get Rid of Mucus in Lungs - 5 Home Remedies for Mucus
How to Get Rid of Mucus in Lungs - 5 Home Remedies for Mucus !! The secretions in the throat and lungs, such as phlegm and mucus, are usually a result of colds, flu and other infections of the respiratory system. Even though this is not a serious health issue, if you don’t eject the secretion in time, it can irritate and clog the bronchi and lungs, causing a secondary infection of the upper respiratory system. In the presence of mucus or phlegm in the throat and lungs, we feel the need for constant coughing (to clear out the throat); then there’s the occurrence of a runny nose, a feeling of weakness, difficulty breathing, and sometimes even fever. These secretions contain viruses, bacteria and inflamed cells, formed as a reaction to an infection. Besides being a side effect of an infection, such as flu, common cold, or bronchitis, these secretions can also occur as an allergic reaction to some irritations, such as vocal cord damage, hay fever, and smoking. Top 5 Home Remedies For Mucus And Phlegm: Here we show you some of the best home remedies, which will help you eject the mucus and phlegm from the throat and lungs. 1: Honey Honey has antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties, which make it an excellent remedy for irritated throat. In addition, its antiseptic properties help strengthen the immune system, so it would be easier for you to beat the infection. Mix 1 teaspoon of honey with a pinch of freshly ground black pepper. Consume the resulting mixture 2 times a day. 2: Lemon Water Lemon is excellent when it comes to softening and eliminating the phlegm and mucus from the throat. It has a content rich in vitamin C and antibacterial properties, which help the body become more resistant to infections. Mix 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of honey in a cup of warm water. Drink the lemon water 3 times a day, to alleviate the pain in the throat and to reduce the formation of mucus. 3: Chicken Soup Hot, heart-warming chicken soup will help you get rid of the mucus and phlegm in your throat by warming up the airways and softening the secretions. Eat homemade hot chicken soup 2 to 3 times throughout the day, to clear your throat and lungs of secretions. To enhance the effect, you can add a little bit of garlic in the soup. 4: Toast Yes, toast can help you eliminate mucus and phlegm, by carrying it down to the stomach. As you chew and ingest this crunchy bread, it softly scrapes the throat, removing some of the secretion. 5: Echinacea This flowering plant has strong antibiotic properties, which make it great for the treatment of cold associated symptoms, such as nasal congestion, mucus buildup and stuffiness. Steep 2 teaspoons of Echinacea root and dried leaves in a cup of boiling water, for 15 minutes. Drink the tea 2 times a day.

Shorten Cold Duration with Alcohol | BeatTheBush
Shorten a cold by coating your throat with alcohol and taking cold medicine at the same time. Normal Nyquil limits the frequency you can coat your throat since you can only take it once every 6 hours. With this method, you can beat down the germs every 2-4 hours and shorten you cold duration by killing the germs at the source. Take care not to actually drink too much alcohol when doing this. Use only about 1oz to swash your throat. Observe regular drinking precautions such as not drinking and driving and operating heavy machinery. Source: Me. I fought off a cold with this method once. I will update here for future success and failures as I repeat this method. Another Source: The CDC is a good reference for effectiveness to remove some doubt. "Pseudomonas aeruginosa was killed in 10 seconds by all concentrations of ethanol from 30% to 100% (v/v)" from (Guideline for Disinfection and Sterilization in Healthcare Facilities, 2008) Ethanol is what's in your drinking alcohol. Although, high concentrations will kill viruses faster, you can compensate by gargling it longer. Home Made Cold and Flu Remedy Natural Home Remedies for Flu That Never Fail!
"Home Made Cold and Flu Remedy | Natural Home Remedies for Flu That Never Fail!" It is a fact of life that every year, cold and flu season comes around. It can make life truly miserable for anything from a few days, to a couple of weeks. And unfortunate, even if you are immunized, it is still possible to get a strain of flu not covered under the flu vaccination. The flu is easy to distinguish from a cold because it often brings on high fever, body aches, extreme fatigue, and headache. These are usually combined with the typical respiratory symptoms of a cold- sniffles, sneezes, sore throat and coughing. There are plenty of cold and flu remedies available for purchase over the counter plus prescription medications you can take. All of these will help attack cold and flu, but usually only once it has taken hold. They focus primarily on treating the symptoms, not actually helping the body fight back and recover. So, let us look at some natural home remedies that will help you fight cold and flu. ✦ Thyme. Thyme is a great expectorant for chest congestion and either thyme oil or herbal thyme can be used to help. There is a method that helps with breathing in the thyme essence and loosening congestion. ✦ Garlic A natural antiseptic, garlic is a great immune booster herb that can prevent respiratory infections as well as fight viruses. Take it regularly for prevention and if illness does strike, take it to help recover faster from the viral illness. ✦ Zinc At the first hint of a cold, sucking on a zinc lozenge can help reduce the longevity of symptoms. Do this every few hours within 24 hours of the onset of symptoms. Don t exceed 150 mg a day in total, and don it takes zinc for longer than a week because long-term use can actually weaken immunity. ✦ Homemade Bone Broth Chicken soup or any kind of hot liquid broth will stimulate your immune system. It is the remedy of natural remedies and not only provides warmth and comfort from cold and flu but helps to reduce inflammation and thins mucus. It also is an easily digestible source of nourishment. ✦ Ginger With antibacterial properties, ginger is a great addition to the flu-fighting arsenal. It can easily be taken as a tea or used fresh. You could even add it to your homemade broth. Ginger helps to reduce bronchial congestion and contains natural cough suppressants called gingerols. ✦ Vitamin C As soon as you notice cold or flu symptoms, it is time to take vitamin C. To fight the symptoms, take high doses, about 300 mg per day, in divided doses with food, until you have recovered. Then drop down to about 50 mg per day for ongoing immune system health. If you want to keep cold and flu at bay, try taking preventative doses of echinacea, garlic, and vitamin c. These can greatly boost your immune system and prevent the onset of illness. Using any of the home remedies for flu mentioned above will get you back on track and at the same time help your body build it is own defenses. So next time the cold season comes around, you will have an even greater chance of resisting future infections. ❤❤❤ Please Share, subscribe and support us ❤❤❤ ➧ Subscribe Our Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCysbFu0CJ4tcMmZuYIkmAHg?sub_confirmation=1 ➧ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NaturalRemedies4UU/ ➧ Twitter: https://twitter.com/remedies_4u ➧ Google+: https://plus.google.com/u/1/b/110487861840033718767/communities/111114156568605566324 ➧ Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/naturalremedies4u0304/ Here Some more Natural Remedies 4U: ↪ The Best Way To Improve Your Eyesight and Look Younger with This Powerful Home Remedies || Natural Remedies 4U. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51iX8kO9ZRc ↪ How Do You Get Rid of Acne during Pregnancy? || Natural Remedies 4U. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKhHbwPoHHs ↪ How to Get Rid of Upper Abdominal Pain. || Natural Remedies 4U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6JwpHmjHME ↪ How To Treat Pink Eye Home Remedies For Pink Eye #Conjunctivitis That Work Fast || Natural Remedies 4U. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0bfiusE8dA -------------------------------- Subscribes to our channel ------------------------------- If you like this video, then subscribes this channel. SUBSCRIBE: https://www.youtube.com/user/DrJohnKiel FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/medicinelifestyle TWITTER: https://twitter.com/LifestyleMedYou Vitamin C is an essential, water soluble vitamin. It has other names such as ascorbic acid and has been called the most popular supplement in the world. It is essential because humans can not synthesize vitamin C and must obtain it from their diet. I'm just going to briefly summarize the things I think are worth knowing about vitamin C. Everything I'm going to say is evidence based with research to back it up. It is well known as a vitamin supplement taken to prevent the common cold. I looked up the data for this. A 2013 meta-analysis of 29 trials (n = 11,306) showed a small but significant 8 percent reduction in the duration of cold symptoms in adults regularly taking vitamin C supplements (at least 200 mg/day). In the general population it does not reduce the risk of developing a cold or getting sick. It does appear to have a protective effect in highly active individuals. In other words, the evidence is not strong that vitamin C is dramatically helpful in preventing or treating the common cold in most people. Vitamin C has not been shown to reduce the risk of developing cancer, cardiovascular disease or coronary heart disease, cataracts or macular degeneration SOURCES citric fruits, kiwi fruits, apples, vegetables, potatoes, leafy greens, and fortified cereals RECOMMENDED DAILY ALLOWANCE Males 90 mg/day Females 75 mg/day Should not exceed 2000 mg/day Vitamin C, also known as ascorbate, ascorbic acid, dehydroascorbic acid.

How to treat a cold
Cold symptoms come on gradually and can include: blocked or runny nose sore throat headaches muscle aches coughs sneezing a high temperature (more than 38C in adults, 37.5C in children) pressure in your ears and face loss of taste and smell The symptoms are the same in adults and children. Sometimes, symptoms last longer in children. A pharmacist can help with cold medicines You can buy cough and cold medicines from pharmacies or supermarkets. A pharmacist can advise you on the best medicine. You can: relieve a blocked nose with decongestant sprays or tablets ease aches or lower a temperature with painkillers like paracetamol or ibuprofen Be careful not to use them if you’re taking paracetamol and ibuprofen tablets as it’s easy to take more than the recommended dose. Some are not suitable for children, babies and pregnant women. There’s little evidence that supplements (such as vitamin c, zinc, echinacea or garlic) prevent colds or speed up recovery. BECOSULES Z Capsules Uses Composition Side Effect Precaution How To Uses & Review
BECOSULES Z Capsules Uses Composition Side Effect Precaution How To Uses & Review Vitamin C and zinc have many health benefiits, including aiding immunity, reducing the risk of age-related eye diseases and helping wounds heal. Vitamin C also helps the absorption of plant-based iron, while zinc is required for the body to make DNA and for cell division. Meat and seafood are the best sources of zinc, while friuts and vegetables are good sources of vitamin C. Zinc is also found in cold lozenges and over-the-counter cold medicines. Protection Against Colds Vitamin C may reduce the length and severity of a cold, but it doesn’t appear to prevent colds in most people, according to the National Center of Complementary and Alternative Medicine, part of the National Institutes of Health. The exception is marathon runners and other extreme exercisers, as well as people exposed to very cold weather, such as skiers. For these groups, taking 250 milligrams of vitamin C daily may reduce the chance of catching a cold by 50 percent, reports the NIH’s Office of Dietary Supplements. Studies show that using zinc lozenges within 24 hours of catching a cold can reduce the length and severity of cold symptoms. Eye Disease Protection Zinc and vitamin C may prevent vision loss in older people by delaying the progression of age-related macular degeneration, or AMD. In one study reported by the Office of Dietary Supplements, high intakes of zinc and antioxidants, including vitamin C, reduced the risk of AMD in elderly people. In another study, taking zinc alone significantly reduced the risk of developing AMD in high-risk subjects, but not in other people. Additionally, studies show high intakes of vitamin C may protect against cataracts, although the ODS notes this association needs further study Wound Healing Vitamin C is needed for the body to form collagen, part of the skin’s connective tissue that plays a vital role in the healing of wounds, such as cuts. Zinc is needed for the formation and maintenance of the skin and mucous membranes. People with skin ulcers are often deficient in zinc, according to the Office of Dietary Supplements. Additionally, insufficient vitamin C can lead to scurvy, a disease that causes connective tissue weakness and gum bleeding

The Sanskrit name for Garlic is ‘Rason’ from which the Hindi name ‘Lahsun’ is derived. Rason means the king of Rasas. Vedic sciences firmly believe that Rason possesses the properties to cure any malfunctioning in the body. Just like an Apple a day, keeps doctor away… a little Garlic every day, keeps diseases away. Now, mix these items in a bowl…Pour honey all over it. Honey contains antioxidants, antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. Take a glass of water, pour the mixture in it and drink it slowly. Remedy 1: Quick Recap -Lemons- few lemons -Garlic- half -Honey- few tbsp. -Water- 1 glass Add first three ingredients and mix them well. Then pour water on it and drink it slowly. *Go For One More Remedy to Help You Fight Cold* Now, a special remedy for those who do not consume Garlic or any other root vegetables. Get ready for a spicy cure.Spice Tea is a highly beneficial Ayurvedic remedy to get rid of common cold. Dry roast and grind a quarter cup of coriander seeds, one and a half tablespoons each of cumin and fennel seeds, and a quarter teaspoon of fenugreek seeds ie.Methi Coriander seeds are a rich source of potassium, iron, Vitamin A, K and C, folic acid, magnesium and calcium. They have medicinal properties. Cumin contains caffeine and special aromatic oils which make it an expectorant - meaning an anti-congestive mixture. Similarly, Fennel Seeds have Cineole and Anetol which are expectorants in nature which help relieve the phlegm caused by cold and other respiratory disorders. Fenugreek seeds, Methi has mucilage that helps relieve throat soreness Now, boil a cup of water Add one and a half tablespoon of this spice powder and one and a half teaspoon of rock sugar i.e. Misri. Let it simmer for three to four minutes. Add two tablespoons of milk. Bring the solution to a boil and then strain it. Hot milk aids in detaching the phlegm from the respiratory tract walls and hence aids its removal. Issgholkoubaaltak le aaiyeaur fir chaan le ekbartan me. Sip it slowly while it is hot. Remedy 2: Quick Recap -1/4 Cup Coriander -1 1/2 Table Spoon Cumin -1 1/2 Table Spoon Fennel Seeds -1/4 Teaspoon Methi Boil one cup of water and add 1 ½ tbsp. of spice prepared with ½ tbsp. of rock sugar also called Misri. Add 2 tbsp. of milk while simmering down the flame fir 3-4 min. Now bring it to boil and strain it. Sip it while it is hot for the best relief. *Go For One More Remedy Cold fighting tea is Honey Cayenne Tea* Cayenne Pepper naturally does what many cold medicines try to do. It effectively breaks up mucus and helps clear your respiratory passages. It has immunity boosting and antimicrobial properties. If taken regularly, it can also prevent you from getting cold infection. For Honey Cayenne Tea you need 1 cup water, 1 black tea bag, 1 teaspoon honey and a pinch of cayenne pepper Heat water on the stovetop and steep the tea for about four minutes. Remove bag and combine tea with the honey and cayenne in a mug. Your Honey Cayenne Tea is ready. Keep sipping it at regular intervals until the cold symptoms subside. Remedy 3: Quick Recap -1 cup water -1 black tea bag -1 teaspoon honey -Pinch cayenne pepper Heat the water on burner and steep the tea for 4 min. Top 15 Superfoods That Fight Colds | Cold Medicine Cold Treatment Hello Friends, Thank you for Watching please subscribe the channel for more videos updated. Also find a soon.. https://www.facebook.com/Health-Video-143638489694269/ https://viralnewsworl.blogspot.com/ 1. Fish Oily fish—including salmon, tuna, and mackerel—are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, compounds that help reduce harmful inflammation in the body. Chronic inflammation prevents your immune system from working properly, and can contribute to colds and flu as well as more serious diseases. 2. Oysters Zinc, an essential mineral, has a strong track record of fighting the common cold. A comprehensive review of the research, published in a Canadian medical journal in 2012, concluded that taking zinc lozenges appears to shorten the duration of cold symptoms in adults. 3. Garlic These pungent cloves do more than just flavor your food. Garlic also contains allicin, a sulfuric compound that produces potent antioxidants when it decomposes. 4. Anise seeds These licorice-flavored seeds, which have antibacterial properties, have been shown to ease coughing and help clear congestion from the upper respiratory tract. 5. Citrus fruits Recent research suggests that vitamin C may not be as useful in preventing colds as once thought. However, studies do show that taking the vitamin at the first sign of illness may reduce a cold's duration by about a day, which can feel like a lifetime when you're suffering. 6. Fennel Like anise seeds, fennel is a natural expectorant, and can help clear chest congestion and soothe a persistent cough. The two foods have similar flavors, in fact, and in supermarkets fennel is sometimes referred to as anise, even though they're different plants. Fennel can be eaten raw or roasted, but you may get the best cold-fighting benefit from drinking a tea made from fennel seeds. Try Yogi Tea's Throat Comfort, or make your own with 1.5 teaspoons of fennel seeds and one cup boiling water. Steep for 15 minutes, strain, and sweeten with honey to taste. 7. Yogurt and kefir We usually think of bacteria as a bad thing, but some of these microorganisms are essential for good health. Eating probiotic foods, such as yogurt and kefir, is a good way to replenish beneficial strains of bacteria, which promote digestive health and help prevent stomach ailments. "There are over 10 trillion bacteria living in our gastrointestinal tract, so you want to make sure the good ones outnumber the bad ones," Ansel says. 8. Tea Everyone knows a steaming hot cup of tea can help break up chest congestion and soothe a sore throat, but the benefits may run deeper. All tea—black, green, or white—contains a group of antioxidants known as catechins, which may have flu-fighting properties. In a 2011 Japanese study, people who took catechin capsules for five months had 75% lower odds of catching the flu than people taking a placebo. 9. Red peppers Like citrus fruits, red peppers are high in vitamin C. In fact, one red pepper has 150 milligrams of the nutrient—that's twice the recommended daily allowance for women. (A large orange, by comparison, only has about 100 milligrams.) Even that may not be enough, however, as studies suggest you need much more than that to harness the nutrient's cold-fighting benefits. "If you're sick, you should be eating a lot of vitamin C throughout the day—400 to 500 milligrams," Ansel says. 10. Milk Much of the vitamin D that our bodies need to build strong bones, defend against heart disease, and—you guessed it—bolster our immune system is produced when the sun's rays interact with our skin cells. But this key vitamin is also found in fortified foods such as milk, orange juice, and breakfast cereal. 11. Mushrooms When it comes to mushrooms, your choices are many: White button, Portobello, shiitake, and Maitake are just a few of the varieties you'll find in your grocery store. Fortunately, just about all mushrooms contain some form of immune-boosting antioxidants, along with potassium, B vitamins, and fiber.

Vitamin C has not been shown to reduce the risk of developing cancer, cardiovascular disease or coronary heart disease, cataracts or macular degeneration RECOMMENDED DAILY ALLOWANCE Males 90 mg/day Females 75 mg/day Should not exceed 2000 mg/day Vitamin C, also known as ascorbate, ascorbic acid, dehydroascorbic acid. Tomato Juice (170 mg) Kiwifruit (167 mg) Litchi Fruit (136 mg) Pokeberry Shoots (135 mg) Oranges (121 mg) Papayas (88.3 mg) Broccoli (88.0 mg) Grapefruit (85.1 mg) Balsam Pear (aka bitter melon), (78.1 mg) Brussel sprouts (74.8 mg)

Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin that is necessary for normal growth and development. Water-soluble vitamins dissolve in water. Leftover amounts of the vitamin leave the body through the urine. That means you need a continuous supply of such vitamins in your diet.Vitamin C is needed for the growth and repair of tissues in all parts of your body. It is used to: Form an important protein used to make skin, tendons, ligaments, and blood vessels Heal wounds and form scar tissue Repair and maintain cartilage, bones, and teeth Vitamin C is one of many antioxidants. Antioxidants are nutrients that block some of the damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals are made when your body breaks down food or when you are exposed to tobacco smoke or radiation. The buildup of free radicals over time is largely responsible for the aging process. Free radicals may play a role in cancer, heart disease, and conditions like arthritis. The body is not able to make vitamin C on its own, and it does not store vitamin C. It is therefore important to include plenty of vitamin C-containing foods in your daily diet. For many years, vitamin C has been a popular remedy for the common cold. Research shows that for most people, vitamin C supplements or vitamin C-rich foods do not reduce the risk of getting the common cold. However, people who take vitamin C supplements regularly might have slightly shorter colds or somewhat milder symptoms. Taking a vitamin C supplement after a cold starts does not appear to be helpful.
