What Causes Cold Sores & What They're Telling You About Your Health

08:48
Did you know that 90 percent of the population gets at least one cold sore in a lifetime, and 40 percent of American adults repeatedly get cold sores? They can be painful, uncomfortable and downright unattractive, beginning as a blister and eventually forming a crust. Cold sores are commonly mistaken for canker sores, especially in children. Canker sores, however, involve only the mucous membrane, and they’re never on the outside of the mouth. Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV), an infection that may cause only a single cold sore or an outbreak of several cold sores. Until a cold sore is scabbed or crusted, it’s extremely contagious and can even be spread to other parts of the body, including the eyes and genitals. In this episode of Ancient Medicine Today, I'm talking about what a cold sore is and natural remedies and treatments to get rid of them for good. Find more information about how to get rid of cold sores naturally on my website here: https://draxe.com/cold-sores/ *This content is strictly the opinion of Dr. Josh Axe, and is for informational and educational purposes only. Tongue Cancer Symptoms How to Know If You Have It With 2 Ideas on Preventing It!

05:03
http://utahtexans.com/ Click on the link above for a free video guide to dietary supplements and alternative medicine! Today I'm going to share with you the most common tongue cancer symptoms and some ideas on preventing this problem. Cancer really is a scary disease because it can strike anyone without warning, even if they are really healthy. Then it can rapidly spread causing all kinds of damage. Another danger is that it can be mistaken for a cold, an ulcer or a sore in the mouth area. One of the most typical warning signs is going to be pain in the region. This could be agony coming from the tongue directly or the jaw. This could make it difficult when it comes to swallowing, chewing and even talking. An additional tongue cancer symptom could include a lump or thickening on the tongue as well as a white or reddish patch in the area. Also a person might experience a sore throat that doesn't seem to go away. The million dollar question is when someone should see a physician about something that is troubling them. I feel it's best for someone get a checkup the moment they feel they might have something that is serious. Getting this checkup can give someone piece of mind and enable them to rest easier. If it is something serious then a person can deal with the problem right away, before it becomes more serious. Now that we know the warning signs of this problem let's go over a few ideas on preventing this problem from ever happening. 90% of people with tongue cancer or some people call it oral cancer use 1 specific ingredient and do you have any idea what that is? I'll give you a hint this ingredient causes many other kinds of health problems. The answer is tobacco. In fact smokeless tobacco such as “chew” increases the chance of getting any type of cancer in the mouth area by 50 times. Another idea to to prevent oral cancer is green tea. In a study done by M.D. Anderson Cancer Center 41 patients with oral cancer were either given green tea extract or a placebo. After 3 months 59% of the patients that took green tea experienced a reduction in the size of the tumor. To sum everything up the top tongue cancer symptoms include pain in the region. There might be a lump or thickening of the tongue. A white or reddish lump could be an indicator of cancer as well as difficulty when it comes to swallowing, talking or chewing. Other signs could be a persistent sore throat as well as pain with the jaw. To prevent tongue cancer a person should not use tobacco and drinking green tea can increase a person's chance of not getting this problem. Supplements and alternative medicine can be confusing and even harmful. Make things really simple and give your body a HUGE edge by viewing a free video guide I created at http://utahtexans.com/.

Cheek Biting -Why and How to stop it? -Dr. Abhishek Bhadranna

02:13
undefinedCheek biting its one of our common practice among the people without even being conscious of being it. Cheek biting can be caused because of various reasons first of all how to recognize it, you can stand in front of the mirror just pull the cheek out and you can see white line in the center of a chick, this is because of your chronic cheek biting habit. It can be caused because of various reasons, one of the most common reason is stress and anxiety. People who are stressed and anxious tend to byte their cheeks, in such people you need to make them aware of it and ask them to calm down and use a chewing gum instead of biting their cheeks. Malaligned teeth when the teeth are not in a straight line they are placed apart from each other and very close to the cheeks. Especially it is true when you have your wisdom tooth coming towards your cheek, lot of biting goes on over there. If it is a wisdom tooth which is not going to come in straight position you need to extract it and if it is other teeth you can go for orthodontic corrections. In case of sleep some people do it they have a habit of biting their cheek, in these people we can give something called night cards which is a plastic rim that can comes between their teeth, they can wear it and then sleep. Then there are some very difficult cases like obsessive-compulsive disorder where people continuously bite their cheek to get some gratification, these people they require psychological counselling for correction of this cheek biting.

They can appear anywhere inside the oral cavity – on the inside of your lips and cheeks, the base of your gums, on or under your tongue. They are different from fever blisters, which typically appear on the outside of your lips or the corners of your mouth. Interestingly, canker sores take a couple of days before they reach their peak in terms of pain and irritability. In other words, they don’t start hurting immediately upon occurrence, which gives you some time to deal with it before it gets really bad. Please SUBSCRIBE : http://bit.ly/2e9Su11

Pimple vs. Cold Sore: The Differences, Identification and Treatment

05:39
Difference between cold sore and pimple. If you ask, is it lip pimple or cold sore? This video will share all about them. A pimple is usually a small, firm inflamed spot on the skin and has many other names such as zit, bleb, boil, carbuncle, and others. Some pimples may become large. A pimple is an inflamed area of skin with pus formation in the center, resulting from a bacterial infection of the oil gland that produces sebum. A cold sore is an inflamed blister (also termed a fever blister or oral herpes) on the lips and/or near the mouth, caused by infection with herpes simplex viruses (HSV-1 and HSV-2). What are causes and risk factors for pimples and cold sores? Cold sores are caused by HSV-1 and HSV-2 viruses, with the majority of facial cold sores caused by HSV-1 (about 80%). Risk factors include person-to-person transmission by direct skin contact, sharing eating utensils and other personal items (such as razors or towels), and even kissing can transmit viruses through saliva. Pimples are caused by inflammation and bacterial overgrowth in the sebaceous glands of the skin. They are not caused by person-to-person contact. Risk factors include clogged sebaceous glands (whitehead and/or blackhead formation that indicates clogging of sebaceous glands), hormonal changes (especially in individuals undergoing puberty), and/or chemical irritants placed on the skin. Breakouts of pimples sometimes occur due to hormonal changes, for example during menstruation. What are the signs and symptoms of pimples and cold sores? The signs and symptoms of pimples and cold sores can be summarized by the five stages by which both pimples and cold sores develop. The following are the signs and symptoms of pimples: Reddish, flat small area of skin. Possible whitehead or blackhead development. Pus develops that eventually spontaneously drains. Inflammation decreases and skin heals. The following are the signs and symptoms of cold sores: Fluid-filled blisters begin to appear. Blisters ooze clear fluid and form painful sores. Sores dry and form scabs. Scabs fall off skin and skin heals. The process for pimple formation and healing often occurs over a longer time span than the process with cold sores (two to four weeks). The longer time span is due to the time it takes to form whiteheads and/or blackheads. Additionally, it takes about a month after pus develops and drains for the inflammation to decrease and have the skin heal. In some individuals who have pimples with large areas of pus, the skin may form a scar. What are treatments and medications for pimples and cold sores? The treatments and medications for pimples and cold sores are different. The most common treatment for pimples is an over-the-counter medication that comes in lotions, gels, cleansers, creams, and skin washes; it is benzoyl peroxide. It can kill bacteria and also remove some of the oil and dead skin cells associated with whiteheads and blackheads. Another common treatment is salicylic acid, which helps to open pores. Individuals with severe pimple formation may require antibiotics (for example, minocycline and doxycycline) and consultation with a dermatologist. Do not pick at or pop pimples. This can make the infection worse and result in scar formation. Alternative medicine for pimples includes lemon juice, tea tree oil, green tea, honey, mint, echinacea, and many others. For alternative medicine treatments, you should discuss them with your primary care physician before use. Treatment for cold sores does not cure the disease, but it may speed up the healing process. There are many antiviral drugs that are used to treat cold sores. These antivirals may be administered as pills, creams, and more severe infections, even injected. Alternative medicine treatments for cold sores include lysine as an oral supplement or cream, sage plus rhubarb in a cream, propolis (synthetic beeswax), and stress reduction.

Canker Sores In Mouth Here Is How To Naturally Get Rid Of Them In A Matter Of Minutes Without Using

01:23
You might get them on the inside of your lips, the insides of your cheeks, the base of your gums or under your tongue. Canker sores are different from fever blisters, which usually are on the outside of your lips or the corners of your mouth. Canker sores are also called aphthous ulcers. A few days ago, some kind of sore appeared in my oral cavity, on the lower part of my tongue. I tried to learn what it was, so I started reading some websites, I explored for a few days, and I finally discovered that it was a canker sore which began to cause pain over time. It irritated me and as I had nothing to lose, I decided to make a little experiment that I have read about. I took a glass of tap water and put 1 teaspoon of salt in it. I rinsed my oral cavity with the solution, in fact, I gargled. In the evening, I warmed up some water, but it was not too hot, and I squeezed one lemon into the glass and drank it, without adding sugar in it. The next morning, I saw that the canker sore on my tongue has disappeared completely. I would be glad if you share this recipe, as it is really valuable and it could be of great help for those people who suffer from these annoying sores.

Chemotherapy: How do I prevent mouth sores? | Norton Cancer Institute

01:38
Mary Anderson,Oral Chemotherapy Registered Nurse Clinician, with the Norton Cancer Institute, explains the different types of chemotherapy treatments available and what to expect while going through treatments. Mouth sores can present themselves after chemotherapy as redness on the inside of your mouth, a white coating on your tongue bleeding gums or trouble swallowing or chewing and having cracks on the corners of your mouth. There are several things that you can do to prevent mouth sores but even with the best prevention techniques possible you still might get mouth sores so don't blame yourself if it happens. First of all, you want to use a soft bristle toothbrush. Brush your teeth two to three times a day by even taking your toothbrush and running it under warm water so it softens the bristles even more. Rinsing your mouth out two to three times a day with a mouth rinse that does not contain alcohol or peroxide. There are many over-the-counter formulas and you can talk to your doctor or your nurse about what's best for you. Also you can use baking soda by mixing a teaspoon of baking soda in a cup water and rinsing your mouth out two to three times a day with that will also help. Foods that you might want to avoid would be foods that are spicy, foods that are very acidic or even very salty. Extremely hot beverage should also be avoided. If you do develop sores in your mouth, especially if it's difficult to eat or chew or swallow, make sure you call your doctor. There are prescription medications that your doctor can prescribe to help these sores get better. Learn more about chemotherapy https://www.nortonhealthcare.com/chemotherapy

How to Get Rid of a Canker Sore Fast

05:23
Canker sores are oral conditions that are both painful and unsightly. Women are more likely to get them than men. It is important to note that these ulcers that form in and around the mouth are not contagious and are not related to cold sores, which they are often confused with. Some of the contributing factors to canker sores are injuries to the mouth, stress, smoking, hormonal changes, anemia, allergies and viral infections. These sores can cause burning, fevers, pain and swollen lymph nodes. Today’s video will discuss natural ways to treat canker sores. 1. Coriander Coriander contains anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties. As such, it is a perfect tool for handling canker sores. There are several different ways that coriander can be used. Coriander leaves can be boiled in a glass of water and then strained. Once cooled, gargle with this solution three or four times each day. Coriander seeds can also be used by simply adding one teaspoon of seeds to one cup of boiling water. Allow the solution to sit and steep for several minutes and then strain. Use the solution to gargle with three to four times each day. The juice from coriander leaves can also be consumed. Take the juice from the leaves, hold it in the mouth to allow the liquid to sit on the sore, and then drink. 2. Aloe Vera Aloe Vera can help to speed up the healing process, while fighting germs and viruses. Simply open an aloe Vera leaf and take out the gel. Then, place the gel directly onto the canker sore. Aloe Vera juice can also be used to gargle with several times each day. Aloe Vera gel can also be consumed, two tablespoons, two to three times each day. 3. Salt Salt can help to remove fluid and infection from the sore, thus quickening the healing process. This can be done by mixing one teaspoon of salt into one cup of lukewarm water. Then, by using this solution to rinse the mouth out, for at least thirty seconds. Once rinsed, salt can be placed directly into the canker sore. 4. Honey Honey can also be placed in and around the sore to clean out germs and speed up the healing. This may sting initially; however, the pain will soon subside. Repeat this several times each day. A paste can also be made of one teaspoon of honey and one quarter of a teaspoon of turmeric powder. 5. Sage Sage is a spice that is effective in calming canker sores and relieving any pain and inflammation. Add three teaspoons of sage to two cups of boiling water. Allow the leaves to sit and steep for about ten to fifteen minutes. After the solution cools, use it to rinse your mouth several times each day. 6. Baking Soda Baking soda has the ability to clean out the sores and relief pain and inflammation. Simple add a little water to one teaspoon of baking soda to make a paste that is to be placed directly onto the canker sore. Let the paste sit on the sore for a few minutes and then rinse well. Repeat this three to four times each day until the sore has disappeared. 7. Cayenne Pepper The spiciness in cayenne pepper comes from the chemical capsaicin, which numbs the nerves in the body. This is extremely helpful in relieving pain and discomfort. Simply take a small amount of cayenne pepper and mix with a little water. This will create a paste to place directly on the sore. After the initial discomfort, pain and inflammation will soon dissipate. Repeat this twice each day. 8. Tea Tree Oil Tea tree oil has antiseptic properties that help to clear the skin of canker sores and to prevent them from appearing. Simply add ten drops of tea tree oil to a glass of water. Then, use this solution to rinse out the mouth, three to four times daily. Do you, or someone you know, suffer from canker sores? Have you heard of these natural remedies? Goodbye to Angular Cheilitis (Cracks in Corners of Mouth) with this

04:45
Goodbye to Angular Cheilitis (Cracks in Corners of Mouth) with this Cracked corners of the mouth are a common condition that affects millions of people. It is medically known as angular cheilitis. It is also known as perleche, angular stomatitis, corner of mouth sores, and cracked lip corners. Angular cheilitis is a condition that causes red, swollen patches in the corners of your mouth where your lips meet and make an angle. It can occur on only one side of your mouth or both sides at the same time. The main symptom of angular cheilitis is irritation and soreness in the corners of your mouth. Other symptoms you can have on the affected area include bleeding, blisters, crusty patches, itchiness, pain, redness, a scaly texture and swelling. Also, your lips obviously feel dry and uncomfortable, and you may have difficulty eating, too. Angular cheilitis occurs when saliva gets trapped and builds up in the corners of your mouth, which causes a fungus to grow and multiply, ultimately leading to an infection. Certain bacteria and virus strains can also cause this problem. You are most likely to develop this problem if the corners of your mouth are moist a lot of the time, which can be due to having braces, wearing poorly fitting dentures, licking your lips a lot, drooling while sleeping, sagging skin around your mouth from weight loss or aging, smoking and lack of nutrients like vitamin B or iron. At the same time, certain medical conditions like anemia, diabetes and immune disorders can also put you at a higher risk. If you are suffering from angular cheilitis, there are many home treatments available to fight this irritating and painful condition. Here are the 3 home remedies for angular cheilitis. 1. Castor Oil. Castor oil is another good remedy. It helps tone down angular cheilitis by minimizing pain and inflammation due to its anti-inflammatory properties. It also has strong antibacterial properties that will help fight any bacteria that may be causing the problem. It is also effective for fungal strains that infect the mouth corners. Additionally, castor oil can keep the skin around the mouth from getting dry. • Simply apply castor oil to the affected area near your mouth several times a day. • Alternatively, mix ½ teaspoon of castor oil and 2 drops of tea tree oil. Use a cotton ball to apply it on the corners of your mouth. Wait 30 minutes before rinsing it off with cool water. Repeat twice a day. 2. Aloe Vera. Another speedy and effective cure for angular cheilitis is aloe vera. It has antiseptic, antifungal and anti-inflammatory healing properties, thus making it effective against fungi and a wide range of bacteria. It helps alleviate the pain and inflammation that you have to deal with due to angular cheilitis. It also helps moisturize the dry and damaged skin on the corners of your mouth. 1. Extract the gel from an aloe vera leaf. 2. Put the gel in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. 3. Rub the cool gel gently on the corners of your mouth. 4. Let it dry for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing it off with cool water. 5. Use this remedy 2 or 3 times a day, until the skin at the corners of your mouth heals completely. 3.Honey. Honey works as a great moisturizer for skin, and it also has healing and antibacterial properties to treat angular cheilitis. It can effectively destroy infection-causing pathogens. It also provides relief from the pain and agony caused by this skin problem. • Apply some local honey or manuka honey on the affected area, several times a day for 1 week. • Alternatively, melt ¼ teaspoon of beeswax. Mix in ¼ teaspoon of olive oil and ½ teaspoon of honey. Transfer the contents to an airtight container. Apply a small amount of this cream on the corners of your mouth. Allow it to sit for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing it off with cool water. Repeat once or twice daily. Video Link: https://youtu.be/3BHCwfVLFGs

If is not a life threatening illness, however it can still at times be debilitating in terms of visual appearance and also the pain and discomfort that comes with having a flare up. The condition often begins as simply cracked, dry or split lips that is usually associated with wind burn or in cold weather. It can develop in later stages into these split corners of the mouth, almost like paper cuts. The sufferer has difficulty opening their mouth and also go through embarrassment socially. The splits make the surrounding skin turn a whitish hue and the entire area becomes red and sensitive and sore. People associate this condition with the flue or the common cold because it typically comes about in cold weather. However, what is really happening is that this is a fungal infection and the bacteria are always there. The immune system suppresses the bacteria but cannot fully kill them. When the body is exposed to cold, like for example not expecting a cold night and sleeping with a lowered body temperature, the body's immune system becomes weakened, allowing the bacteria to thrive and causing a break out. Angular Cheilitis: Cure Mouth Sores Quickly

01:30
http://fastcureangularcheilitis.tamoev.com ◄ THE ONLY NATURAL TREATMENT FOR ANGULAR CHEILITIS THAT COMPLETELY CURE ANGULAR CHEILITIS!!! Angular Cheilitis: Cure Mouth Sores Quickly In layman's terms, angular cheilitis or angular stomatitis is basically red sores or deep cracks at the corners of the mouth. At one look, the condition could be mistaken as a cold sore or chapped lips, but it could actually get worse. When the condition gets worse, the affected areas could bleed every time the person tries to open their mouth. The bleeding could lead to the formation of shallow ulcers or some sort of "crust." There are different causes of angular cheilitis. Fungal as well as bacterial and viral infections are the usual reasons behind the condition. Children who frequently bite the corners of their mouth, lick their lips and suck their thumbs are susceptible to this skin problem. Adults who lost their teeth or don't have dentures suffer from this illness as they tend to over-close their mouth. Vitamin B deficiency is probably the most serious reason for this condition. Iron deficiency anemia and Zinc deficiency has also been linked with the skin problem. Angular cheilitis treatments vary and depend on what caused it. Severe cases already require a medical attention and would only get worse if given incorrect medication. For minor cases, the condition can be treated depending on what triggered the disease. If the case is due to infection, it can be treated using antifungal and antibiotic medication. Adults who developed the condition because of over-closure of the mouth can cure their problems with dentures. The cure for those who blame their condition to the cold weather and vitamin deficiency can be treated with lip lubrication and vitamins respectively. There are many ways to treat this condition and these ways have been proven to work overnight and can be done at home. You will know about these natural cures from Jason White in his eBook Angular Cheilitis Free Forever or from Angular Cheilitis Cure by Katherine Sage eBook. Praised for being brief yet detailed, these eBooks have received good feedback from its readers.
