Engine Start / Test / Run Stand - Build your own
I designed and built this Engine Test Stand to break in and tune my newly rebuilt engines before installing them in my cars. This stand collapses to be stored under a bench or stand upright against a wall. Currently on the stand is a 454 all set to go into my 70 Chevelle SS. The plans for this stand are for sale on eBay at http://www.ebay.com/itm/Engine-Start-Test-Stand-Plans-Ford-GM-Mopar-/331051831960?hash=item4d143a1298&item=331051831960&vxp=mtr

RC and Control Line Engine Test Stands, Gas or Glow Fuel
Ron Sexton's fine crafted engine test stands shown during operation and a detailed bench top review. I'm not being paid by Ron, but I liked his designs so much that I wanted to help him get the word out. These stands are not mass produced, rather they are hand crafted one at a time and have a lot of character and high quality materials put into each one. I've spoken to Ron on a few occasions, and he puts a lot of time and effort into these. Help support a fellow RC hobbyist who's been into the hobby for almost 50 years, contact Ron about one of his stands today! A new email contact will be added at a later date. Ron's phone number is shown in the video currently, approx 2:15 in. Thanks for watching!

Engine Test Stand Build
This is the Engine Test Stand that my son and I built. The test stand is built to run an engine independently of a vehicle. This way I can test the engine for leaks and problems. It works very well. The engine in this video is a Ford 351 Cleveland that I built.

How to build an engine run stand out of an engine stand (EASY)
Dyno video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G20kult6bwI After a problem on the dyno I wanted to change the cam to one that I could use with a stock valve train. I also wanted to break-in the new cam/lifters before installing the engine. I altered an engine stand to do this. There are only 3 holes drilled into the stand because I didn't want to make any changes that would make it unsafe to use as a regular stand. This did the job!!! Easy to build!!!!

Building a Liquid Rocket Engine Test Stand
We (as students at UC San Diego) designed, built, and tested a rocket engine test stand that can be used to test various liquid rocket fuel mixtures. The test stand was brought to Friend's of Amateur Rocketry in the Mojave Desert, California, where the static fire test was conducted. Our research team manufactured biofuel to test the performance against the industry standard (kerosene-based) RP-1. A presentation of the work will be featured at the 15th Reinventing Space Conference, 2017. Supervisor: Dr Steve Harrington Assistant: Victor Gandarillas Members of the team: Harrison Box, Justin Laughlin, Trevor Irwin, Claude-Henry Djongoue, Zoe Warp, Irani Tinio, David Cruz, Joe McMinn, Roy Barnea, Kenny Wong, Nick Lopez, Andy Kieatiwong, Elizabeth Maher

PRW Engine Test Stand - Part 1 In the Garage with Parts Pro Performance
PRW's very own Scott Stutler assists in the assembly of our Low Profile ETS Accessorized Engine Test Stand (Part #1300112). Also check out Parts 2 - 5. The US Patented PRW Racing Engine Test Stand (ETS) is the first US Patent collapsible design that is manufactured with standard parts and readily available replacement parts from the manufacturer. For the small shop or race trailer, the ETS is a real space-saver when collapsed. It is available as a base unit for the do-it yourselfer, or accessorized with a radiator, electric fan, fuel cell, pre-drilled instrument panel, on-off switches, momentary starter switch, oil pressure gauge, water temperature gauge and 0-8000 RPM tachometer. The Low-Profile ETS is designed to accommodate most engines, and built to meet the demands of high-output racing engines and heavier big blocks, taking mobile engine test stands to a whole new level of functionality. The ETS is also available with a "Short Block Adapter" that allows the mechanic to "build" the short block, and then rotate the engine to the upright position, just like a typical engine stand. Then temporarily support the short block and install the "center supports", remove the "rotating head unit," and re-attach the rear engine supports to finish the engine assembly. After final assembly, install the fuel cell, plumb for fuel, wire the electrical, connect the battery, and you are ready to run! Obviously, we have over-simplified the necessary preparation and hard work; but a great deal of satisfaction can be gained with the knowledge that your engine is ready and worthy to be installed in your hot rod, race car, or street machine! Save Time, Money & Space!: - The Original Racing Engine Test Stand is designed & built with standard replacement parts accessories - Available with optional rotating short block adapter Experience the Benefits: - Find Leaks & Tune engines - Save on Dyno Time - Showcase Your Motors - Customer Demonstrations - Prevent Comebacks - Test New, Used, or Rebuild Engines - Fold Up for Easy Storage - Fully Adaptable to Most Any Engine Design - Join Wyotech, UTI, & Hundreds of Other Professional Who Already Own the Original Racing Engine Test Stand To See More Details on Our Racing Engine Test Stands go to : http://www.prw-usa.com/category/products/test-stands Check Out Our Many Other Products at: www.prw-usa.com or call toll free 888.377.9779

First Test of a Small-Scale Solid Rocket Motor ǀ Sept. 2016
September 2016: Testing of a small solid-propellant rocket motor. This was the very first test of this small-scale SRM on the test stand. After a full development at small-scale, it was initially planned to design in a second step a full-scale 40 kN thrust SRM that was intended to be installed on a totally new and crazy fast rocket-propelled bicycle capable of a spine crushing acceleration. Unfortunately, the development cost was too high and the project was therefore abandoned. We decided to switch to a more reasonable option which will be a bipropellant liquid-fuel rocket engine. Nonetheless, due to the cost of the complete propulsion unit, the technical development is always delayed and far from completed.

DIY AWESOME Heavy duty engine stand, Geared spinning head
I needed an engine stand for the 5.0 to hang on for its build up. I looked at a bunch of off the shelf options; amazon, ebay, autozone, TSC, HFT and so on. It was obvious after seeing a youtube video by filthyphill100 that I needed to go the DIY route. In his video he used a brake slack adjuster off of a semi truck to spin the head. His idea is very clever. I was given some used brake parts by my dad which was just what I needed. I also have a large pile of scrap steel I want to use up. I was able to come up with enough good parts to put together this stand. I did buy new iron casters and a new slack adjuster totaling around $50. Im waiting to drill the holes in the arms until I know what size is the industry standard. Look for it to be painted with a 5.0HO v8 hanging on it in a future episode of the '47 ford p/u build!! The frame material is random bits of box tubing The spinning head is 3/4" plate steel The arms are 1 1/4" bar stock The pivot shaft is 1 1/2" 28 splined brake shaft The casters are 330lb each The bolts are all 5/8" NC The spinning head is held in place by a retention clip, like on a semi Thanks for watching!! Like and subscribe to follow along (Sorry for the delay in uploads. Life has been busy, in a good way! Engine run stand build...."Summit Racing clone"
I built a new run stand based off the one Summit Racing sells. All together it wasn't $80 in materials. I used a local shop, Alro Metals, and they have a "b" stock section. That's where I sourced all of my tuning. It is a 2x3 box tubing setup that breaks down and stores against the wall.

Quick 'n' Dirty Engine Dolly build
I put this little dolly together because I got a spare engine when I got my morris, however I have not had any means of moving it around. So it has been sitting on my trailer under a tarp for the last 6 months. I used a cheap chinese buzz box arc welder this time for a bit of practice using SMAW. Had a few problems with sticking when striking the arc, I think the rods were damp from sitting in an open packet all winter though it could be because noob. Rods were 6013, I would like to try others but there isn't much available in NZ for low voltage ac, at least without making a special order (expensive). The casters were recycled from photocopiers, that weigh about 150kg so should be fine for the amount of usage this will see.
