Dental Implants: Allergic reaction in oral cavity, Possible? - Dr. Sudhakara Reddy
Dental implant have helped millions of people across the world to get their lost teeth across the world in terms of their form, function and improved aesthetics. The best part is there is no serious side effects with these materials, due to their excellent resistance to corrosion or biocompatibility. Titanium is established as the material for not only dental implants, but also in the medical fraternity for cardiac pacemakers, orthopaedic plates. Titanium allergies are very rare, probably about 0.6% in the literature it is noted and I have not come across any titanium allergy. People who are at risk are those who have allergy to the metals or to the jewel items. Even if someone suspects any allergic reactions after an implant surgery, be sure to have your implantologist to examine about the condition because it could be due to any other reasons like allergy to any anaesthesia, or antibiotics or painkillers.
Possible titanium dental implant allergy solved with a CeraRoot zirconia implant.
Woman describes her experience after having two titanium dental implants failures. The first implant had been restored with a crown for about a year. Suddenly the implant became loose, and the patient had good oral hygiene and there was no periodontal disease. The area was clean and grafted. After 6 months, the patient had a second titanium implant placed and the healing was normal. After 4 months, there was a failure of the implant. No infection. The implant did not integrate. The second titanium implant was removed and the area was cleaned and grafted again. The area was grafted and the patient waited 6 more months. After the area had been healed, a third implant was placed and this time a CeraRoot ceramic dental implant was chosen. The implant healed with no problems during 4 months. After 4 month the doctors could observe a normal integration of the implant into the mandible of the patient. A final all-ceramic crown was cemented on the implant. We don't know if the patient is allergic to any of the elements that are found inside the titanium alloy composition. Our hypothesis is that the patient developed an allergy during the first year of having the first titanium implant in the mouth. Because a second titanium implant failed on the same location, the chance of this patient being allergic or highly sensitive to titanium implant alloys is very high.

Can one's body reject Dental Implant?- Dr. Sharon Colaco Dias
The dental implant can be rejected due to allergy to titanium which is very rare. If that is so the patient can go for zirconia implant. The dental implant can fail due to poor case selection, that is soft bone, decreased height of bone, if the procedure is not carried out correctly, if there is no infection control, if the patient is a bruxer, i.e. one who grinds at night certain precautions have to be taken and if not taken the implant can fail, improper planning of the prosthesis, that mean s you have too many crowns or too few implants or there is too much pressure on the implant due to the prosthesis, then the implant could fail at a later stage. Poor oral hygiene is one of the common reasons why you could have a failure of the dental implants. There are certain extra things that you have to do when you have a dental implant. You need to clean twice a day, you need to floss your teeth, make sure that there is no food lodgement around the area of the implant. You could use a water pick to have that area cleaned. But you certainly need to take care as much care as your natural teeth or even more.

Allergies to Joint Replacement Implants: What to Do?
Allergies to Joint Replacement Implants are a common concern for patients. There isn’t a lot known about how allergies to metals or plastics or even cement that are used in the materials are handled by the body inside of the joint. If you’re the type of person who has a reaction when you wear metal jewelry, you may have a metal or nickel allergy. This doesn’t always mean that you will react to a joint prosthesis that has metal components, but this isn’t clear. Simply, the medical community does not have a definitive answer for what may cause allergies, if allergies are proven to be caused by specific materials, and what impact they may have on the recovery of that patient. There are some reactions that are extremely rare that can occur inside of a joint. Surgeons are still trying to determine if those those are true allergies or if they could be caused by something different? If you have metal allergies or wish to be tested, let your surgeon know. There are some non-metal alternatives or some implants that are nickel-free. Generally, nickel is a metal that more people can have a reaction to. Say Goodbye to Dental Implants, Grow Your Own Teeth In Just 9 Weeks
Say Goodbye to Dental Implants, Grow Your Own Teeth In Just 9 Weeks !! REVOLUTIONARY DISCOVERY GROW YOUR OWN TEETH Dental implants, although expensive, make life easier, especially to older people and people with bad teeth, since they are the perfect solution to fill the gap after taking out a tooth or even more than one. Unfortunately, the dental implants can also cause infections, inflammation, trapped nerves, titanium allergy, etc. But, after you watch this video, you will change your outlook of dental implants. According to doctor Jeremy Mao of Columbia University and his other fellow friends for dental development, there is a possibility to grow new and genuine teeth in the oral cavity. You are probably wondering how. Namely, Dr. Mao, the lead investigator of this research, built a scaffold for teeth, containing these stem cells in the body. He actually helped new teeth regeneration by using their DNA, and it will take 9 weeks for the device to be placed on your body and accepted from it. The benefit of this implant method is that it uses good materials to make new tooth or teeth. Metal Allergies from Joint Replacements Caused Muscle Debilitation
"Do you know the types of metals in your metal implants?" A question asked among attendees at "Steel Standing" presentations. Most shrug their shoulders, unaware of the potential dangers lurking beneath their skin and muscle tissue if they've had metal implants such as joint replacements, pacemakers (outside casing), or have had dental implants with "alloy" posts. There is a huge difference between "alloy" metals and "pure" metals. The story of "Steel Standing" is captivating accounting a true medical case, with clinical studies revealed the silent culprit: Metal Allergies from her mother's Metal Joint Replacements in her hip and knee. Her daughter, Christa Davis, began researching how - if possible - the health problems might link together. She discovered clinical research studies in the United Kingdom which has an orthopedic data base for over 30 years. The United States did not mandate an orthopedic data base until May 2011. The medical sources are credible and well documented in "Steel Standing." The story is inspiring and in depth. The video only highlights the incredible discovery which led to a medical breakthrough deemed by the University of Alabama in Birmingham on February 2012 by a renowned neurology research specialist, Liang Lu, M.D., Ph.D. www.SteelStandingBook.com The revised ebook is currently available on Amazon.com Music Credits: Windham Hill: A Winter's Solstice Pianist, Michael Manning "Sung to Sleep" and "We Exalt Thee" by Pianist Jim Brickman www.JimBrickman.com Production by Steel Standing, LLC

Say NO to Root Canals - Damaging to your Health
One of the biggest medical cover-ups in history involves root canals. The biggest mistake I ever made with my own health was listening to a dentist who told me I needed a root canal. This damaged my immune system for years. It also set me on a search which lasted more than a decade to figure out why, as a result of allowing a root canal into my mouth, the health of my whole body was damaged. Here’s what you need to know: Root canal procedures are not safe. And the irony of it all is that your dentist probably doesn’t even know this. The American Dental Association—together with most dental colleges around the world—has been denying the dangers implicit in root canal procedures for generations. Way back in the 1920s, world-renowned dentist and dental researcher Weston A. Price carried out exhaustive studies on the fundamentals of dental infections and how they can cause systemic bodily infections and degenerative diseases. After years of study, Price reported that he was never able to find one root canal-treated tooth that did not eventually become seriously infected. Since then, exhaustive research by other cutting-edge dentists, who have been courageous enough not to buy into the official party line, has confirmed Price’s findings again and again. All root canal teeth are completely dead. And no dead tissue should ever be left in your body. Would a surgeon removing a necrotic organ in your body leave pieces of it in your tissues? Absolutely not! Yet this is exactly what takes place in a root canal. When a dead tooth is sealed, the environment becomes anaerobic. Bacteria can then morph into their anaerobic forms and reproduce prolifically within the dentine, creating noxious toxins. You see, a root canal is an ideal medium for this to take place by supplying warmth, nutrients, and water. The immune system is unable to deal with the problem because the dead tooth has no blood supply. Yet most, if not all, dentists still believe that leaving a dead root canal tooth stuck into your jaw will cause no problem. And this is exactly what endodontists—dentists highly-trained as root canal specialists—do. They clear out all blood vessels, connective tissue, and infected nerves from your tooth’s pulp chamber. Then they widen and reshape it in preparation to receive the filler substance, which is often gutta-percha. By doing this, they are attempting to create sterility. But here’s the rub: No amount of medication used in an attempt to sterilize these tubules has ever shown itself capable of accomplishing this. There is simply no way of eliminating bacteria hidden in the tubules. They can harbor masses of bacteria and diseased tissue. And, since the tooth is completely dead—nothing more than a moribund hunk of material—your jaw becomes the ideal place for toxic by-products to be produced. Because a dead tooth’s blood supply and oxygen supply no longer exist, bacteria present in the space between the upper gum and the crown of the tooth can easily make their way into the porous dentine tubules, not only infecting the area around the dead tooth but your gums as well, causing gingivitis and then periodontitis. Fair warning. But root canal procedures are great money-makers. Each year, endodontists in the Western world carry out a mind-boggling 30 to 40 million root canal procedures. I found out about all this the hard way when I came to experience for myself just how devastating the seepage of pathogenic and poisonous by-products can be. So here’s the bottom line: Refuse to accept what you are told about how safe root canals are supposed to be, regardless of how nice your dentist is. Carry out your own research. Discover first-hand the truth behind the root canal cover-up. It could change your health and your whole life for the better. Read some of the books I have listed below. Also contact responsible organizations for information on root canals, such as the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. You’ll be glad you did. Zirconia Dental Implants
if you have lost one or a few natural teeth, every dentist will advise you to replace them as soon as possible. The reasons are very simple to guess: first because without some dental elements it is much more difficult to eat properly; second, but not less important, it is be very embarrassing to talk to people and show them holes in your dental arch. There are several ways to fix the lack of teeth and ceramic implants treatment is the most new, aesthetic and healthy. Zirconia dental implants, also known as ceramic implants are artificial tooth roots made of zirconium dioxide that dentists place in your jaw to replace one or more missing teeth Zirconia implants are hypoallergenic The number of people who suffer because of allergies is increasing year by year and allergy to metal too. Accordingly, with recent studies, titanium sensitivity affects 4% of people in the world and in most cases, the side effects revel after implants are placed in the jawbone of the patients. If you choose zirconia implants, you don’t have to worry because of allergies, zirconium is hypoallergenic meaning that metal-free implants do not cause any strange reaction in your body. Zirconia implants Compatible with holistic dentistry Approach Holistic dentistry approach tends to consider dental health in the context of the patient’s entire physical and spiritual health. That said, zirconia implants are bioinert so they do not interfere with the energy flow that moves through the body’s meridians and mentioned in the holistic philosophy. More natural and esthetic result with Zirconium Oxide Zirconia dental implants offer more aesthetic result; let’s see why. There are two different reasons: using ceramic screws they cannot be noticed in case of very thin soft tissue (gums). Since zirconia components are white, they work and look like a normal dental root. After years, gums tend to recede leaving visible a little part of the implant. In case of your dentist used metal implants, a kind of greyish color will gleam through the tissue. This is ok for the posterior restorations, nobody will see it but what about anterior teeth like incisors and canines? using zirconia implants in the anterior teeth will avoid this problem. Zirconia doesn’t conduct any electrical charge Unlike titanium, zirconium dioxide is a non-conductivity material meaning that implants made of it do not interact with electromagnetic fields coming from devices like those we use daily (smartphone just to name the most used). In other words, there will be no electrical or electromagnetic activity in your mouth. Recent studies revealed that non-conductivity is directly connected with less bacteria growth on the surface of the ceramic implants. This is a very good news because bacteria are the first cause of surrounding tissue inflammation that leads to peri-implantitis and promotes the implant failure. What about zirconia implants success rate? Accordingly with recent studies, zirconia and titanium have the same success rate of 98.5% in regards the osseointegration capability. In addition, it seems that implants made by zirconium promote a higher soft tissue attachment so the final aesthetic result will be better compared with that you can reach with a titanium implant. What are dental implants made of?
Dr. Kaufman explains what are dental implants made of? Hello, and welcome to a New York Dental Minute. I am Dr. Zev Kaufman Dental implants have come a long way since the original commercially pure titanium implants of the early eighties. Titanium is a metal that is inert to the body and bone attaches itself to it by special body glue that it secretes around it. However, the early implants were also softer and breakage of implants under load was common. As science advanced, we have found that a titanium alloy, which incorporates other ingredients, and is treated on its surface, allows bone to attach itself to it faster, and the bond is stronger. Today, the strongest implants are made of a Titanium/Zirconium alloy. We can place thinner implants in reduced bone volume, where we could not place implants before, and the implants are considerably stronger and allow us to fabricate much more durable restorations. At the same time, the Titanium/Zirconium alloy is inert and does not produce any adverse reactions within the human body. Lately, several implant manufacturers have introduced ceramic implants to the market with promising results, however, long term studies are still needed to evaluate their efficacy and durability and ease of use. In short, dental implants are made from titanium alloys and allow us to replace missing teeth with comfort and confidence. So now you know, From Prosthodontics & Implant Surgery of Manhattan, where people come in with missing teeth and leave with winning smiles, I am Dr. Zev Kaufman

Removing a titanium dental implant and placement of a CeraRoot ceramic implant.
This patient had a titanium dental implant placed in the central incisor. The position of the metal implant was not correct and for this reason the esthetics were not acceptable. The darkness of the gum around the crown is because the titanium implant was not deep enough into the gum. With a CeraRoot ceramic implant, this would not happen because it would not produce any discoloration of the gum. On the same day of titanium implant removal, the CeraRoot ceramic implant was placed. The patient wanted to have the rest of the teeth improved with esthetic zirconia crowns. The patient is really happy with her new smile. Zirconia Dental Implants Pros and Cons
Are zirconia dental implants the answer? The vast majority of dental implants are titanium alloys that have been in use since the mid 1960s. The focus is whether the actual implant screw is made of zirconia or titanium. Zirconia dental implants are attractive for those that may be concerned about a metal allergy. In this blog post I describe the pros and cons of zirconia dental implants. As of the year 2015, I would not recommend them… The scientific evidence and clinical practice does not support their claims. The one piece design in itself is a very limiting factor. The implant cannot be redirected by an abutment…. Right or wrong, position cannot be changed. In my dental office in Burbank California, I commonly use zirconia as the crown or bridge portion. It is also very useful as an abutment which is the intermediary piece pontic two-piece dental implant. Both the crown/bridge and abutment portion are not embedded into the bone. Zirconia bridges such as the Prettau dental implant bridge is extremely strong as long as it is made very thick. please direct your comments to the blog site as they will be answered much faster. Dental Implants: Indications, Planning & Placement - Dr. Suresh S
When a patient loses his teeth, he becomes an oral amputee. His oral function gets impaired with the loss of the teeth either if it is one tooth or multiple teeth missing, his overall function gets impaired. His mastication gets impaired if the loss of the tooth is the back one. The aesthetics or the looks gets impaired if the loss tooth is the front one. It is really essential to get the replacement as the earliest, otherwise it just damages the adjacent teeth, or the bone from which the tooth has been extracted. Many patients ask me which is the best option to replace the teeth, whether it is a dental implant or a bridge. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Implants have gained its popularity because of advanced technology and the science, the major advantage of implant is to replace a tooth, we don’t have to sacrifice the important tooth structure, that is the enamel, in a dental implant the tooth we are going to place a titanium cylinder which integrates with the bone structure and once the integration has taken place, we give a crown over that. So there is no chance of touching the adjacent teeth for the replacement of the teeth. Second is your oral hygiene is always better with dental implants, hence the reason why we don’t connect the implant like a bridge to replace all treatment if the one tooth. In case of the bridge for the replacement of one tooth we cut the adjacent teeth and by taking the support of the adjacent tooth, we give a bridge. So the minimum will be a 3 unit for the replacement for the one tooth, hence at the oral hygiene becomes compromise. Otherwise esthetically the dental implant looks more natural or beautiful and definitely it a smile enhanced compared to a dental bridge. Major advantage of dental implant is preservation of bone as the patient loses the toot the major drawback is the patient also loses bon structure also with the implant, we are utilising the bone and we are minimising the bone resorption.
What is a Dental Implant
In simple terms, a dental implant is a tooth root that is shaped like a cylinder or like a screw. The dental implant is inserted into the jaw bone to replace lost tooth root. The branch of medicine that deals with the study of implants and their implantation is called implantology. The implantologist is the person who performs the implantation procedure in the patient. There are many different kinds of implants and the implantologist will be more aware of the differences and requirements for individual patients. The dental implant is placed in a sterile container from which it is removed without touching, with the help of an insertion rod. Then, it is placed in the desired location in the jaw bone where it is inserted with the help of the insertion post. Once the artificial root has been positioned properly, the insertion rod is removed and only the artificial root remains in the cavity. Dental implant is an artificial root that can be made up of a number of substances such as ceramic, titanium, zirconium and so on. Based on the substance that they are made up of, implants get their name such as titanium implant, ceramic implant and zirconium implant. Some may fear that titanium causes allergies and hence not prefer implants. These materials used in titanium roots have been well tested for biocompatibility and there has been no substantial evidence that they cause allergies. Hence, this is just a false belief and not the reality. Though an implant may be lost due to a number of other reasons such as habits in the patients, poor root treatment, periodontitis in some cases. This is only a rare case and implants do not fail frequently. They can also be replaced with another implant or a conventional denture as preferred by the patient. http://www.checkdent.com

What Is a Dental Bone Graft
Usually, dental implants commonly require the use of bone graft surgery to restore the area. Missing teeth could be a result of the jawbone deterioration, and it occurs when you suffer from gum disease, a traumatic injury or have had previous extractions. When bone loss occurs, the jaw deteriorates and cannot hold the implant in place. If you’re looking to get dental implants, you may need treatment to restore your jaw to a healthy state, and this is when the bone graft procedure takes place. The dental bone graft is necessary to perform a successful dental implant treatment. Placement of the bone graft can be very simple, depending on the particular circumstances and the actual state of your oral health.

Questions & Answers 230 - Teeth Implants/Diabetes, Erythromelalgia, Yeast Infection, Lipomas
Questions & Answers 230 08:55 - Chris -- Why did Robert Morse have to get teeth implants? Why didn't he heal it? Someone at his office (one of the teachers) has diabetes, isn't it the easiest to cure? It's just scary to put my health in the hands of docs that say they heal all but have issues of their own, just nervous. 17:55 - KnowledgelsPower7777 -- For the past couple years, I've been suffering from two conditions that there seems to be no cure for. Erythromelalgia and Raynauds. I've researched and researche, trying tons of different therapies, but nothing has worked. I've cleaned up my diet and that hasn't really helped with the conditions. I'd greatly appreciate any wisdom and advice you could give me on this matter. 31:28 - Beatris -- At the age of 22 my gallbladder was removed per my doctor's proposal and I obviously agreed with him since I lacked nutrition knowledge at that time. I have 5 children, 6, 8, 12, 16, and 18. About 10 years ago I noticed that I was getting yeast infections continually until NOW. I tried Monistat, pills, ointments, OTC medicine, etc., and the infection cleared for a few days and returned. I have been dealing with it for a long time and I want it gone. I believe this is my body telling me there is something wrong and I have to take care of it. They yeast infection was my major problem with some fatigue and mood swings. 57:09 - Robby1983 -- This is James, I'm a 30-year-old from the UK. I have multiple lipomas. 2 fairly big ones seem to be getting slightly bigger. Are there any dangers of lipomas? I am a vegan mostly raw for over a year. I've noticed my eyes have a lot of white in them although they are blue and have a lot of mucus. My eyes have weird flaky skin everyday day under my eyes. I have also had a lot of antibiotics in my younger days and alcohol and drug use, especially xanax and valium. Is there any herbs that could maybe clear me of these skin allergies as its affecting my life. Also, is there anyway of getting rid of lipomas? 1:06:04 - Tyra -- History of fibromyalgia and is hypersensitive to any kind of alternative therapy (massage, acupuncture, myofasical release, etc.) Anxiety increases after treatments, get heart palpitations, and pain can also increase. History of cortisol use. Also sensitive during detox with herbs and fruits. Suggestions?

Dental implants without anesthesia with hypnosis - A personal experience
I am allergic to anesthesia and finally found a way to have a sophisticated procedure like a dental implant done without it. Instead, my dentist in Berlin, Germany and I used hypnosis as an alternative. It is like going into a deep meditation and observing the procedure from that space. Personally, I went to one of my favorite places in my mind and visited the wild animals that I love so much. There was no pain, no swelling, no bruising and no bleeding in the wake of the surgery. In fact, I went on a long bike ride afterwards. I know that this sounds unbelievable and it really is. See for yourself how the process unfolds. I highly recommend trying it for anybody who has difficulty with the side effects of anesthesia. You can even try a little supplemental anesthesia to make you feel safe. We did not get to film the actual surgery, but did hypnosis for my check-up and adjustments to demonstrate the process. I was really happy and in control of what was happening all three times that we did hypnosis. Really, our fear of pain is much worse than the actual procedure. Thank you!

Sinusitis and sinus infection after teeth dental titanium implant - endoscopic sinus surgery
http://www.NoseSinus.com. https://www.google.com.sg/maps/place/Dr+Kevin+Soh,+Ear+Nose+Throat+Sinus+Head+%26+Neck+Clinic/@1.3049229,103.8331258,17z/data=!4m5!1m2!2m1!1skevin+soh+review!3m1!1s0x31da1992e3f9ff57:0x61af1e7fa8129600 3 Mount Elizabeth, #07-02, Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre, Singapore 228510 Dr Kevin Soh describes a case of sinusitis and sinus infection after titanium teeth dental implant. Functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) was performed. If you have any comments, PLEASE do not be afraid to ask. Please SUBSCRIBE, SHARE, and COMMENT on this video. If you prefer to read, rather than watch the video, here’s the transcript. 0:13 – Case Presentation: A 50 year old man with diabetes had titanium dental implants 5 years ago in the left maxilla to replace missing teeth. He had no problems until three months ago when he developed severe left sided cheek and forehead pain that did not respond to antibiotics. CT sinus scans showed severe left maxillary, ethmoid and frontal sinusitis. The titanium implant was protruding into the left maxillary sinus. Research shows that protrusion of titanium implants into the maxillary sinus do NOT increase the risk of sinus infection. This means that the sinusitis is not teeth or dental implant related. The surgical plan was to get rid of the sinusitis with functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), but leave the teeth dental titanium implant alone. 0:39 – CT sinus evaluation: Infected left maxillary, ethmoid and frontal sinuses. The agger nasi cell tends to narrow the frontal sinus opening. I remove the agger nasi cell to help the frontal sinus drain properly. The anatomy in the left sinus is obscured by disease. The left uncinate process cannot be distinctly seen. The normal right maxillary sinus opening is narrow but not obstructed. But on the left side, the maxillary sinus opening is completely blocked by disease. I remove the uncinate process. Then I remove the agger nasi cell. The ethmoid bulla is filled with pus and disease. I remove the ethmoid bulla, taking care not to injure the anterior ethmoid artery. I open the maxillary sinus opening to allow the maxillary sinus to drain properly. The naso-lacrimal duct drains tears from the eyes into the nose. The infra-orbital nerve receives sensation from the skin of the cheeks. The uncinate process is attached to the naso-lacrimal duct. The anterior ethmoid and posterior ethmoid sinuses are removed in stages. I am careful to avoid injuring the optic nerve. 3:00 – Surgery video demo: The middle turbinate is medialized to expose the middle meatus and sinus drainage areas. A ball probe is used to define the uncinate process. A back biting forceps is used to remove the uncinate process. Microdebrider is used to complete the uncinate removal. Pus is seen coming out of a very narrow maxillary sinus opening. The frontal sinus is opened. Infected pus escapes from the frontal sinus. The frontal sinus opening is nicely widened. Pus under pressure bursts out from the maxillary sinus. The microdebrider converts the original pin-point hole to a large maxillary sinus opening. The angled curved microdebrider further widens the maxillary sinus opening. A wide sinus opening facilitates post-op examination, drainage of pus and sinus irrigation. 6:44 – Next I remove the ethmoid bulla. Find the superior turbinate. The sphenoid sinus opening lies just medial to the superior turbinate. The base of skull is clearly seen when all the ethmoid sinuses have been removed. I place a trans-septal suture to prevent the middle turbinate from lateralizing. If the middle turbinate lateralizes, it may cause a recurrence of the sinusitis. I apply radiofrequency bipolar energy to shrink the inferior turbinates (RF cauterization).
