Obama's 29 New Programs "Won't Cost You A Dime!"

01:08
Obama's 29 New Programs (like the old ones) "Won't Cost You A Single Dime!" Yes, and I still believe in the tooth fairy! Barack Obama said in his State of the Confusion address Tuesday night February 12, 2013, that nothing he was proposing in the speech would "increase our deficit by a single dime." He then proposed at least 29 new huge government programs. Wait... Obama's Proposals for 29 new government programs will not increase the deficit at all? It's a miracle! http://www.theminorityreportblog.com/2013/02/13/terry-jeffrey-obama-seeks-29-new-programs-that-somehow-wont-add-a-single-dime-to-deficit/ Yes, that's right, just like when he said your taxes won't go up one dime, or you can keep your doctor, or the price of health insurance will go down and or be cost neutral?, or "I'm focused like a laser on jobs," or the shovel ready projects that weren't... shovel ready, or let's invest in more green jobs and green technology... that went bankrupt after spending... I mean investing over $100 Billion, or cash for clunkers, or dumping another $94 billion into GM who still owes tax payers $40 billion, meanwhile the Government sold their share in stocks for half the value, or when Obama said... I will not rest until anybody who's looking for a job can find one — 57 vacation days ago and because of his policies, we've had 7% and higher unemployment for the past 4 years and 2 months! Yes, we've heard this all before! Thank God, none of Obama's new policies and programs will cost us any more money! But if non of Obama's programs have cost us any money so far (not one single dime), then how did our deficit go from this.... Obama Alleged IRS Political Targeting Outrageous

02:50
Documents set to be released this week by the IRS watchdog show that the agency targeted tea party organizations and other groups focused on government spending and the federal debt that were seeking tax-exempt status. The IRS also applied extra scrutiny to applicants with statements that "criticize how the country is run" or that sought to educate the public on how to "make America a better place to live," designations that would have included conservative political groups looking to apply for 501(c)(4) status. Those disclosures are included in the appendix of an inspector general's report, obtained by CNN, that has caused widespread anger among lawmakers on both sides of the aisle as well as conservative groups. CNNMoney: What's behind the IRS flap An IRS official admitted Friday that the agency made "mistakes" in the past few years with tax-exempt status applications submitted by groups with the words "tea party" or "patriot" in their names. Multiple conservative groups have said their applications were delayed and returned with lengthy requests for supporting materials, sometimes including website printouts and lists of guest speakers. Obama said he learned of the allegations through news reports on Friday and didn't want to comment on any findings by the Treasury Department inspector-general that oversees the IRS -- but if true, he said, "It is contrary to our traditions, and people have to be held accountable, and it's got to be fixed. "So we'll wait and see what exactly all the details and the facts are," he said. "But I've got no patience with it, I will not tolerate it, and I will make sure that we find out exactly what happened on this." IRS chief to face Congress on Friday The Republican-led House Ways and Means Committee, which oversees the IRS, announced it would hold a hearing on the allegations Friday morning. Slated to testify are Steve Miller, the acting IRS commissioner; and the Treasury inspector-general investigating the complaints, J. Russell George. Michigan Rep. Dave Camp, the committee's Republican chairman, said the disclosure by the IRS "is both astounding and appalling." "The Committee on Ways and Means will get to the bottom of this practice and ensure it never takes place again," Camp said in a statement announcing the hearings. Rep. Sander Levin, the panel's ranking Democrat, added that "a thorough and bipartisan investigation and effective remedial action" was essential. And in the Senate, Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus called for a full investigation as well. "We need to know who knew what, and exactly what mistakes were made," said Baucus, D-Montana. "The American people have questions for the IRS and I intend to get answers." IRS officials knew of agents' tea party targeting in 2011 In 2010, Baucus called on the IRS to look into whether some groups were abusing their tax-exempt status by making politics their primary activity. Sen. Orrin Hatch, the committee's top Republican, wrote a letter to Baucus calling for an immediate hearing. "Bipartisanship on this issue is critical since both Democrats and Republicans have expressed considerable interest in these matters over the past couple of years," Hatch wrote. "As the sole committee of jurisdiction over the IRS, it is critical that Finance Committee play a leadership role in examining this issue." Flood of tax-exempt claims followed court ruling The applications in question were processed by an office in Cincinnati that handles most applications for 501(c)(4) status and had seen the number of applications rise sharply beginning in 2010, the year of the Supreme Court's Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission ruling, which blessed unlimited campaign spending by corporations. Tax-exempt groups became a popular channel for the new wave of political spending. Marcus Owens, the former director of the IRS division under fire, said the IRS receives about 60,000 applications for tax-exempt status every year. Most of them are from civic groups like parent-teacher associations, scout troops or sports leagues, and they're quickly approved. But Owens said organizations seeking tax exemptions that appear to be involved in politics should get a closer look from the IRS based on their actions -- "but not by name, like they were here, which was a mistake." The inspector-general's report indicated the agency's practice of singling out conservative groups began as early as March 2010, and in July of that year, unidentified managers within the agency "requested its specialists to be on the lookout for tea party applications." In August, specialists were warned to be on the lookout for "various local organizations in the tea party movement" applying for tax-exempt status.

Obama Proposes Pumping Billions Into U.S. infrastructure- Full Miami Speech

13:48
President Obama unveils his "partnership to rebuild America,"to revamp the nation's crumbling highways, bridges and other public projects. He made the speech at Port Miami, which is undergoing a two billion dollar upgrade. President Obama said "I've come to Port Miami today because there are few more important things we can do to create jobs right now and strengthen our economy over the long haul than rebuilding the infrastructure that powers our businesses and our economy -- our roads, our bridges, our schools, and our ports just like this one. "As President, my top priority is to make sure we are doing everything we can to reignite the true engine of our economic growth -- and that is a rising, thriving middle class. A growing economy that creates good, middle-class jobs -- that's got to be our true North. That's what has to guide our efforts every single day. And to do that, we should be asking ourselves three questions every single day: Number one, how do we make America a magnet for good jobs? Number two, how do we equip our workers with the skills they need to do the jobs? Number three, how do we make sure that hard work leads to a decent living? "When it comes to good jobs, no workers were hammered harder by the recession than construction workers. Fortunately, the unemployment rate for construction has been cut nearly in half over the past three years, partly because the housing market is starting to bounce back. But construction still has the highest unemployment rate of any industry. Breaking ground on more projects like this tunnel that I just saw means more good construction jobs that can't be outsourced. They have to be done right here in America. And they end up giving people good pay and good opportunities to raise their families. "Projects like this create a lot of other good jobs, too. You ask any CEO where we they rather locate their business and hire new workers. Are you going to set up shop in a country that's got raggedy roads, runways that are pot-holed, and backed-up supply chains? Or are you going to seek out high-speed rail, Internet, high-tech schools, new state-of-the-art power grids, new bridges, new tunnels, new ports that help you ship products made in America to the rest of the world as fast as possible? That's what people are looking for. That's what CEOs are looking for."

Judge Napolitano: Obama Assaulting Fabric Of Our Nation By Changing Laws Without Congress' Approval

04:27
President Obama did not involve Congress in his ObamaCare 'fix,' instead making the change on his own. The president is allowing insurance companies to renew canceled plans even if they don't meet the law's requirements. Can the president make changes to a law that was passed by both houses of Congress? "The president cannot change the law, cannot change the terms of the law, cannot change the date at which the law begins unless Congress and the courts are willing to look the other way," Judge Napolitano said on today's Shepard Smith Reporting. The president's decision opens the law up to another challenge before the Supreme Court. Napolitano pointed out that the president frequently takes action without Congressional approval, citing the bombing of Libya. "The more changes the president does, the more Congress looks the other way, the more the fabric of the nation is assaulted," Napolitano said.

Paul Ryan Trashes Democratic Budget: Their Definition Of Balance 'Never, Ever Balances The Budget'

06:06
3/19/13 - Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), the chairman of the House Budget Committee, joined the hosts of Fox & Friends on Tuesday as Congressional Republicans and Democrats are set to meet to negotiate a consensus on a federal budget for the first time in nearly four years. Ryan told the hosts that the Republican budget plan will not only balance the budget in a decade, but will become most American's preferred budgetary approach. Steve Doocy asked if Ryan would consider not just his own budget proposal but, for example, a proposal put forward by the Republican Study Committee which balances the federal budget in about half a decade. Ryan replied that his plan creates a stable balance that would remain in balance rather than begin to increase again in a short period of time. Ryan was asked to respond to Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) who said recently that the Republican budget does not balance the federal budget in ten years. "Is he right?" Brian Kilmeade asked. "No," Ryan replied. "They're throwing new meanings to the word 'balance.' They say that they're taking a 'balanced approach.' The problem is that their balanced approach never, ever balances the budget." He took a swipe at the Democratic budget for increasing spending and raising $1 trillion in new tax revenues. "We actually balance the budget by cutting spending and not raising taxes," Ryan added. He said that his budget increases federal spending rates every year by 3.4 percent instead of 5 percent, leading to balance in 10 years. "All the Democratic budgets have one thing: more taxes, higher spending, never balancing the budget," Ryan continued. "We think that's irresponsible." "Do you think you can get something done in conference?" Kilmeade asked expressing pessimism that a deal could be worked out given the distant position both Republican and Democrats are arguing from. "You would not conclude that by looking at these two different approaches," Ryan conceded. "If you look at these two budgets, yeah, we're two worlds apart. We're literally on different planets. But at least they're passing a budget in the Senate. At least, for the first time in four years, they're passing something." Finally, Anna Kooiman asked Ryan for his thoughts on the CPAC conference over the weekend and the Republican National Committee's report on what changes the party should implement in order to be more competitive. "We have to be honest with ourselves," Ryan said. "What I'm excited about is we've got a deep bench of young talent come to the surface showing the country that we really have ideas, a solution, and a vision." "We're going to be able to broaden our appeal to the country by showing these innovative solutions that make things better in this country," Ryan went on. "We're in a major chapter of writing the 21st century for America, and we owe it to our fellow men and women of this nation to give them solutions based on our founding principles."

Neil Cavuto & Charles Rangel Battle: Does Obama Think Passing Budget Is 'A Joke'?

06:20
3/20/13 - Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY) appeared on Fox News' Your World this afternoon for a debate with Neil Cavuto — one that quickly devolved into heated crosstalk over the president's lack of a budget proposal and whether spending cuts are necessary for any fiscal plan. After Cavuto lamented that the president is late in submitting his budget proposal, Rangel replied, "Let me make it clear that once the budget is passed, it has no meaning at all in the law. And so that there's no compulsion for anyone to do anything if, and I hope soon, there's agreement to the budget. A budget is really a statement of policy of the party. And hopefully in the future, we will not find the policy so different." An astounded Cavuto shot back: "Wait a minute, are you saying when you make a budget, you shouldn't stick to it? It's a joke?" "That's what you said," Rangel responded. "I said it has no credibility in the law. You said it's a joke. There's a difference." The congressman continued: "Do you think anybody's going to sleep at night in this country wondering when we're going to get the budget out? Of course not. They're concerned with how they're going to get a job, will there be Social Security and Medicare and will we provide for the poor." Cavuto asserted that part of assuring the American people of stability requires "providing a budget, providing a plan" but that lawmakers have made a "mockery" of the process. "Just because it has no bearing in the law doesn't mean it's a mockery and joke," Rangel reiterated. "That's coming from the other side of this camera." "It has been a joke," Cavuto insisted. "I criticize both parties always making a big deal out of relatively small cuts. Always making a theater production over what are really slices off the growth of spending. Always scaring the bejesus out of the American people." Rangel then inserted that the budget worries were a relic of the Romney 2012 campaign, and that despite the Republicans' electoral loss, they are "bringing it back." "Do you think the budget submitted by Senator Patty Murray, which doesn't approach balance and increases spending and increases taxes, is what the American people voted for back in November? Is that what they voted for?" Cavuto challenged the congressman. "Do you know there's no one that challenges that America's on the road to recovery?" Rangel shot back. "If you think for one minute just saying that you are cutting spending, that doesn't mean that you are cutting savings --" Cavuto then interrupted to press Rangel on whether he believes anything should be cut from the budget. "It's how you cut it, of course," the New York congressman answered. "Everybody believes in cutting." When asked what exactly he'd cut, Rangel replied, "There's so much money that's already been cut." The two then went back and forth over the Murray budget proposal for a few more minutes before Cavuto jokingly asked the Democrat if he's filled out his NCAA tournament bracket yet.

Obama Administration Under the Microscope When it Comes to Spending - Kristine Frazao

02:07
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The White House still hasn't changed its mind on closing to tours. The idea was to save money, and that's putting the Administration under the microscope when it comes to spending. It has become a question of choice. The challenges revolve around where to cut, and sometimes who to blame. This was not a decision that went up to the White House but what the secret service explained to us is that they're going to have to furlough some folks, says President Obama. It's fundamentally not true, says former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino. The Secret Service doesn't make political decisions.Bongino said he and his colleagues were appalled by the decision.I remember sitting posted at the White House, watching kids come through with their parents who know a little bit about the history, says Bongino. Pointing out the wall sconces, the paintings and you see the smiles on their faces. Now they're shut out.According to a Secret Service spokesman, 37 officers must be on duty during those tours. Even though the White House is only open about 20 hours a week for tours, those officers are on the clock for 40 hours. Cutting the service should save $74,000 a week. So why couldn't cuts come from elsewhere? It's a question put to White House Spokesman Jay Carney. The President's travel and leisure habits now under fire. The website Obamagolfcounter.com has his rounds of golf at 115. Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-TX 1st District) recently introduced an Amendment to the spending bill that would have prevented public money from being used to transport the President to or from the golf course until White House tours are reinstated.Let him play golf all he wants, says Gohmert. But don't cancel the tours for people who make their one trip to the Capitol and that have paid taxes and just want to see the White House. While his Amendment failed, the debate carries on about tough choices and who they impact most.

BLOWOUT! Ted Cruz vs. Dianne Feinstein ᴴᴰ

06:17
Support My Channel By Shopping on Amazon! http://amzn.to/2atadUZ Senators Ted Cruz and Dianne Feinstein during a Senate Judiciary Hearing on Thursday got into heated exchange while discussing the California congresswoman's proposed ban on so-called "assault" weapons. "The question that I would pose to the senior senator from California is," Cruz said, referring to Feinstein, "Would she deem it consistent with the Bill of Rights for Congress to engage in the same endeavor that we are contemplating doing with the Second Amendment in the context of the First or Fourth Amendment, namely, would she consider it constitutional for Congress to specify that the First Amendment shall apply only to the following books and shall not apply to the books that Congress has deemed outside the protection of the Bill of Rights?" "Likewise, would she think that the Fourth Amendment's protection against searches and seizures could properly apply only to the following specified individuals and not to the individuals that Congress has deemed outside the protection of the Bill of Rights?" he added. Apparently, Sen. Feinstein was not amused with the Texas senator's line of questioning. "I'm not a sixth grader," said responded. "Senator, I've been on this committee for 20 years. I was a mayor for nine years. I walked in, I saw people shot. I've looked at bodies that have been shot with these weapons. I've seen the bullets that implode. In Sandy Hook, youngsters were dismembered. Look, there are other weapons." "I've been up — I'm not a lawyer, but after 20 years I've been up close and personal to the Constitution. I have great respect for it. This doesn't mean that weapons of war and the Heller decision clearly points out three exceptions, two of which are pertinent here." "And so I — you know, it's fine you want to lecture me on the Constitution. I appreciate it. Just know I've been here for a long time. I've passed on a number of bills. I've studied the Constitution myself. I am reasonably well educated, and I thank you for the lecture," she added. The California senator eventually got around to answering Sen. Cruz' question on how she reconciles her proposed "assault weapons" ban with the Second Amendment. n his bio on his presidential campaign website, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) boasts of what he did as Texas solicitor general to defend the Second Amendment, the Pledge of Allegiance, and US sovereignty—all conservative causes. But Cruz does not detail another important chapter in his legal career: his work as a well-paid private attorney who helped corporations found guilty of wrongdoing. After serving over five years as the state of Texas' top lawyer, Cruz in 2008 joined the Houston office of the high-powered international law firm Morgan Lewis to lead its Supreme Court and national appellate practice. He stepped down as a partner in the firm after being elected a US senator in 2012. During his stint at Morgan Lewis, Cruz, who casts himself as a politician who stands on principle, handled several cases that cut against his political stances. He twice worked on cases in New Mexico to secure $50-million-plus jury awards (though, as a politician, he has called for tort reform that would prevent these sorts of awards). He assisted a lawsuit filed by a man who was wrongfully convicted of murder and nearly executed (though, as a politician, he has insisted the criminal-justice system functions just fine when it comes to capital punishment). And in one case, he filed a brief supporting President Barack Obama's stimulus (though, as a politician, Cruz has slammed this Obama initiative).

Organizing For Action Scare Tactics

02:35
Great leaders do not use fear to "scare" people into action. The politics of fear is when leaders use fear to get them to vote a particular way, allow excesses in spending, or accept policies they might otherwise abhor. It's banking on the fact that presenting people with an alleged threat to their well-being will elicit a powerful emotional response that can override reason and prevent a critical assessment of policies. The Obama Administration has used this expertly to erode civil liberties (Drone Killings - increased wire taps), and avoid Congressional oversight. Here's a list of things that the Obama administration has funded...wasteful spending anyone??? Obama can only talk about tax breaks for the "rich and well-connected" while spending most of his time hanging out with the "rich and well-connected." The rest of the time is spent campaigning to get higher taxes on all the rest of us. (20 million and counting on vacations at tax payers' expense) From RenewAmerica: # The government spends $1.7 billion for maintenance on empty buildings it owns, although some sources put the figure at closer to $25 billion. The Office of Management and Budget estimates that 55,000 properties are underutilized or entirely vacant. # The federal government owns approximately one-third of all U.S. land. It does not need more land and it could be argued that it should not own 80% of Nevada and Alaska, and more than half of Idaho. That said, it wants to spend $2.3 billion to purchase more land and the National park Service currently has a backlog of maintenance tasks totaling $5 billion. These include parks that the Obama administration was saying would all have to be closed down because of a sequester reduction of a mere 1.2% of all federal spending. # Homeland Security's Janet Napolitano was issuing statements about the sequestration cuts to her department, but according to Tom Schatz, president of Citizens Against Government Waste, the department has $9 billion in unspent preparedness funds. How much of that will be spent on purchasing more DHS ammunition? They have already purchased enough to shoot every American five times. # Republican lawmakers in Congress took the sequester fear-mongering as an opportunity to note, as Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) said, "There are pots of money sitting in different departments across the federal government, that have been authorized over either a number of months or years." # Rep. Tom Coburn (R-OK) is a leading budget hawk who identified programs to fund a space ship to another solar system, funds for advancements in beef jerky from France, and $6 billion for research to find out what lessons about democracy and decision-making can be learned -- from fish! # While you're trying to figure out how to pay your 2012 taxes, give a thought to the National Science Foundation $350,000 grant to Perdue University researchers on how to improve your golf game. # Not to be outspent, the National Institutes of Health gave a $940,000 grant to researchers who found that the production of pheromones in -- wait for it --fruit flies, declines over time. Turns out that male fruit flies were more attracted to younger female fruit flies. The NIH also paid researchers to find out why gay men in Argentina engage in risky sexual behavior when they're drunk and spent $800,000 in "stimulus funds" to study the impact of a "genital-washing" program on men in South Africa. You can't make up this stuff. # For reasons that defy sanity, various elements of the government have spent $3 million for research on video games; $2.6 million to train Chinese prostitutes to drink responsibly; a whopping $500 million on a program that would, among other things, try to figure out why five-year-olds "can't sit still" in a kindergarten classroom; and grants such as $1.8 million on a "museum of neon signs" in Las Vegas, Nevada. # Sanity does not apply to the $2 billion given annually to U.S. farmers to notfarm their land. Don't even ask about the Defense Department. It has long been famous for waste. While all this has been going on, in 2010 the Office of Management and Budget determined that $47.9 billion was spent on fraudulent or improper payments in Medicare and the problem still hasn't been fixed, though the cost is now up to $62 billion. There's been $2.7 billion in fraud and mismanagement of the food-stamp program. And on, and on, and on. If you just added up the billions cited in this brief look at waste, the federal government might actually be able to get by without having run up the national debt to more than $16 trillion and running trillion-plus annual deficits.

Mark Blyth: "Austerity - The History of a Dangerous Idea" | Talks at Google

01:07:30
Governments today in both Europe and the United States have succeeded in casting government spending as reckless wastefulness that has made the economy worse. In contrast, they have advanced a policy of draconian budget cuts--austerity--to solve the financial crisis. We are told that we have all lived beyond our means and now need to tighten our belts. This view conveniently forgets where all that debt came from. Not from an orgy of government spending, but as the direct result of bailing out, recapitalizing, and adding liquidity to the broken banking system. Through these actions private debt was rechristened as government debt while those responsible for generating it walked away scot free, placing the blame on the state, and the burden on the taxpayer. That burden now takes the form of a global turn to austerity, the policy of reducing domestic wages and prices to restore competitiveness and balance the budget. The problem, according to political economist Mark Blyth, is that austerity is a very dangerous idea. First of all, it doesn't work. As the past four years and countless historical examples from the last 100 years show, while it makes sense for any one state to try and cut its way to growth, it simply cannot work when all states try it simultaneously: all we do is shrink the economy. In the worst case, austerity policies worsened the Great Depression and created the conditions for seizures of power by the forces responsible for the Second World War: the Nazis and the Japanese military establishment. As Blyth amply demonstrates, the arguments for austerity are tenuous and the evidence thin. Rather than expanding growth and opportunity, the repeated revival of this dead economic idea has almost always led to low growth along with increases in wealth and income inequality. Austerity demolishes the conventional wisdom, marshaling an army of facts to demand that we recognize austerity for what it is, and what it costs us. About the Author: Mark Blyth is a faculty fellow at the Watson Institute, professor of international political economy in Brown's Political Science Department, and director of the University's undergraduate programs in development studies and international relations. He is the author of Great Transformations: Economic Ideas and Institutional Change in the Twentieth Century; editor of The Routledge Handbook of International Political Economy: IPE as a Global Conversation, which surveys different schools of IPE around the globe; and co-editor of a volume on constructivist theory and political economy titled Constructing the International Economy. He is working on a new book that questions the political and economic sustainability of liberal democracies, called The End of the Liberal World? Blyth is a member of the Warwick Commission on International Financial Reform. He is a member of the editorial board of the Review of International Political Economy, and his articles have appeared in journals such as the American Political Science Review, Perspectives on Politics, Comparative Politics, and World Politics. He has a PhD in political science from Columbia University and taught at Johns Hopkins University from 1997 to 2009. This talk was hosted by Boris Debic on behalf of Authors@Google.

Monica Crowley slams Obama over death benefits suspension: Obama has never had a clue about anything

05:34
Monica Crowley unloaded on Obama this morning when she and Doug were on to talk about the death benefits scandal. Crowley said that Obama has never had a clue about anything. The excuse from the White House is always that Obama never knew anything or that he just found out about on TV - IRS, Benghazi, Fast and Furious. This White House knew about the suspension of death benefits and Obama is trying to inflict maximum pain on the American public for political gain. The Executive Branch can shift funds around and could have avoided the suspension of death benefits. Obama is a committed leftist idealogue.
